Left in cold for 5 days and still nothing fixed

Last Friday morning, heater and hot water stopped working at our place. As other Enercare customers would do, I called the centre to book an appointment to have a technician sent to get it fixed. A technician came in and opened the furnace room door and within a second he says "can't fix it I'm not licensed for this they sent the wrong technician." And he booked another appointment for us on Sunday 8am-12pm window for 'a right technician to come.' Somewhat frustrated, I patiently waited. The second technician didn't show up till 1:30pm well after the appointment window. And once again he looks at it and says he can't fix it because he's not the right technician. And he booked another appointment for 4-8pm window for 'the right technician' come in. We've been though three days with no heat and no hot water straight when its in the middle of January. Not to mention kids living in our house. Then the third technician came and had a look and said "this furnace has been condemned since 2014 due to fire hazard." Okay, 2014?? That's almost two years that a fire hazard has been sitting in our basement fuming heat and boiling water??? This unit is enercares rental property and the company didn't have the decency to tell the client who has the condemned unit that it's fire hazard let's replace them. And the third technician informs me that a pre-inspection team has to come in and the installation team come after when they get the thumbs up. I'm furious at this point. But I patiently wait in the morning to get a phone call that the appointment hasn't gone through and now I have to wait for another four hours. I'm at work unable to answer the phone call nor supervise what is going on. My sister informs me that the company is charging $350 for the new unit. I thought this was rental...? Let alone a condemned fire hazard rental you careless rented out and now that it has been not working I have to pay?? This is none sense. After whole, cold And unhygienic four days passed. Heater and hot water started working again. And I thought I don't have to deal with the problem for a while. And today (exactly a week since the installation) I get a text that hot water nor the heater is working again. Here we go. We call for a technician to come in. Sent a WRONG technician again who thankfully fixed the heater at least. And now we have an appointment tomorrow morning to get the water boiler to be fixed. I wonder how long that's gonna take. Let's not mention the costs, pain and the inconvenience Our family went through, I have to not go to work and stay at home for a possible 'wrong technician' to show up and make another appointment till summer rolls along. This is ridiculous. The communication between the company is rubbish. None of the technician knew about the unit that the company offers nor how to fix them. Department to department, nobody is able to give me an answer. Most upsetting part is that the company's unit that I fully trusted put our house in jeopardy with a fire hazard. Condemned unit. I've been very very very patient with the company's lack of care and integrity. However, I'm losing more from my own pocket and my personal life to keep my family warm and clean.

    enercare furnace service

Easy to contact. Enercare answered my call @1AM when my furnace broke. I had a repair technician on site before 1PM that day. The service girl that took my call at 1AM was friendly and knew her stuff. Thank you for honestly caring about my needs.

    Hot Water Heater

I have a rental hot water heater that is also our furnace. It hasn't work for a week and I have had 3 technicians in. They don't care and they don't do anything about it. I suggested a year ago that it be replaced and they have done NOTHING. Next call is to lawyer.

    Repairing a water heater

Called late in evening to make an appointment to have our water heater fixed. ( no hot water). Surprised that they could send someone as soon as the following morning. Technician was very knowledgeable and friendly. Replaced thermocouple, cleaned pilot and job was done in 30 min. Would definitely use EnerCare again.

    Furnace repair

Very pleased with the technician, Jason. He arrived fully equipped with the tools of his trade, which was very assuring. He was punctual, courteous, professional and gave some good advise too. He was also very respectful of our home. He had to check the pipes outside and made extra effort to ensure he did not track the the snow and dirt into our home.

Furnace Cleaning (part of Annual contract)

Yesterday, we had Enercare's annual furnace cleaning and inspection as per our contract. The serviceman was polite, informative and helpful in addition to being skilled at his job - all good characteristics for someone in a service profession. Usually we clean our (permanent) furnace filter twice a year and this should have been cleaned (by us) in October as I'd wanted, so the serviceman supplied us with a disposable one - going above and beyond the call so that we have good air flow. I am extremely pleased with Enercare's service!

Installation of energy efficient furnace and boiler

Mid-December I was concerned with water appearing in the area around the furnace and called Enercare's service. Water explained. Enercare's furnace rental program was presented and the age of the furnace pointed out. A reasonable explanation given; no pressure. Rental vs ownership was left to us to discuss. Now time to go energy efficient! I contacted Tim Downey, Enercare Energy Management Consultant. Days before Xmas, the options were explained; the discounts presented. The day before New Year we made the decision to rent. January 8, Robert, Enercare Installer, visited and explained the installation procedure. January 11, Robert, assisted by Mohammed, installed the furnace and boiler. Very professional from 1st contact to the end result. Including drilling a vent hole through 2 feet of 1915 limestone foundation. Explanations of all procedures and procedures to ensure that we were not overly inconvenienced in -10 winter. Everyone involved was polite, personable and pleasant.

    new furnace

Screw up from the beginning - now having billing problems and impossible to contact. Would look to others before using them again. Customer Service is not helpful. Called for initial repair service under plan. Was without hear for 5 days fortunately this was in late October so not too cold. Very accommodating to begin with but now have difficulty contacting the Salesman and the customer service manager involved in my billing questions. They continue to charge for a maintenance plan on my bill that I no longer need since I have a new furnace and an AC unit they put in several years ago with a 15 year warranty.

    Furnace inspection

The technician was very knowledgeable and helpful. He found two of my four co detectors to be out of date. He advised on the best locations. I thought his concern was above and beyond the call of duty. I was expecting just a furnace inspection, but he managed to take note of some plugged lines in the air-conditioner condensation lines. It is great to have such trustworthy experts keeping my place safe and comfortable.
