    Electricity bill

Best keep an eye on your energy bills, this company is not trust worthy to provide you with accurate consumption of energy. I am in the process of having the Ontario Energy Board review their practices.

    Ener Uncare

Worst thing can happen to anyone is dealing with Enercare Home Service. There is a 6 weeks (entire summer of 2020) unresolved issue with my AC unit in one of the new buildings in Cambridge ON. Enercare knows about defected fire hazard AC in my unit and they know the requirements to fix the AC problem via their own contractor for last 4 weeks. I call Enercare and cannot pass their frontline soldiers to see when they come to finish the repair. Their contractor has no knowledge about the status of his requesting parts. I call Enercare and most of the time the font liners hung up on me after putting me on long holds. and when I hold one of them to give me answer, that person promiss me 4 to 8 hours wait for being contacted that has never happened. How can I hold Enercare responsible for their incompetent and negligent business?

    AC Installation

Peter and Denis were very professional, arrived on time and installed everything perfectly and neatly without too much noise as we were working from home. They put runners down so they would not dirty the floor, explained exactly what they needed to do to get my AC up and running and respected social distancing. They built a sturdy pad to put the AC on, as I did not want it on brackets. They cleaned up all packing materials and left my place very neat and clean. I would definitely recommend these two guys to anyone looking for an install. Bonnie Nyman

    water heater trouble

Our water heater stoped working and since we have been renting it from Enercare we called them for service. I should mention this is the first time ever that we had any trouble with it. The Enercare technician Ivan seemed to be in a bad mood from the moment of his arrival, our questions were met with a passive-aggressive attitude. He stated before even touching it that the water heater is very old and needs to be replaced. He replaced the copper coil and subsequently the water heater seemed to work well. He stated however that the CO emissions are too high and turned it off, attaching a Red Tag, told us we need to buy another one. As the measuring device he used seemed to keep alarming even when not in use, we have asked if perhaps something is not wrong with it - he answered that Enercare “pays through their nose to have it calibrated yearly, and it is valid until September". As the water heater was checked relatively recently by Enercare as part of the maintenance and we were told at that time that the emissions are way below cut off, we have asked for a second opinion from another HVAC company. This technician inspected it very thoroughly, checked the CO emissions which were found to be 6 ppm (which is way below the 100 ppm that the Enercare technician stated they are). We are extremely disappointed with the dishonest service we have received form the Enercare technician. We paid approx $23 per month for many years for the rental, we think now those were wasted money, as it seems that in order to have a proper service we had to pay another company for this. In the 15 years that we lived in this house all Enercare has done for that fee is to have it checked once as maintenance. Again, we would have expected that at least the one time we needed their help they could have provided an honest service. If it wouldn’t have been summer and hence the perspective of cold showers not so daunting, and if we wouldn’t have known that the CO emissions have been relatively recently way below the limit, we might have been fooled into buying or renting a new water heater from Enercare - the technician did his best to present the benefits of this. Yes, the water heater is old but it is working and if we decide to change it we prefer to do so after a thorough research and without being falsely pressured into doing so.

    plumbing

I called Enecare who referred me to TransGlobsl about issues I had with older toilets in my home, Todd from Barrie, Ontario, was dispatched to my home, he investigated, and solved the issues. Todd was professional, polite and efficient. I have no regrets with my insurance plan and find that Enecare is excellent in getting the right people in to get the issues dealt with.

Replace Air Conditioner & Hot Water Tank

A/C was intermittently inoperable. Took 2 technicians visit during peak June-July heat to find the issue. Booking on the phone was good. Customer Service Rep was very good. Only concern is that every time she had to book something she had to put me on hold and speak to someone else. Both AC & Hot Water Tank service booked for the same time. Availability of sales team to sell me a new air conditioner exceeded the availability of technicians to diagnose/fix my issue. LOL Salesman was knowledgeable. He proactively recommended water tank replacement. Installation team was great! Arrived a little late but I was advised by the appointment confirmation call that that would be the case. They finished on time and left a very clean space behind them.

HOT WATER TANk rental price change contrary to contract terms

When we entered into our first contract in July 2013 the information given to us by their rep was written on the contract document that we signed with Direct Energy. Our 40 Gal electric tank t was NOT LISTED on the legally binding contract. Therefore it could NOT have been a LISTED TANK. No other information was provided to us by your representatives that would invalidate the terms and conditions of the signed contract. You cannot change a contract by printing an insert later on. That is not legal nor binding, the contract is however. The back of the contract document clearly does not list our 40 Gallon electric tank whatsoever so it could not have been a listed tank as your rep from the office of the president stated on numerous occasions. We have all the email exchanges with this individual. They are either misleading or uninformed. We have the legally binding contract to rely on that clearly delineated all the listed hot water tanks. OUR TANK IS NOT ON THE LIST. So it is not a listed tank according to the contract we signed and not subject to random rental rate increases subject to your whims but in fact you GREATLY raised them far in excess of the allowed 2.5% increase per annum allowed and up to the present time. So your convenient excuse for your illegal rental increases do not hold water and in fact you are in clear violation of the terms of the rental agreement. We first notified EnerCare of this in 2015, and 2016 and were ignored and then again in 2019 when the office of the president fabricated the story that our tank was a listed tank. Almost believed your 'story' until we found the original signed legal contract. And the legal contract contradicts your assertion that out tank was a listed tank. It is NOT LISTED. Therefore all your subsequent rental rate increases were a direct violation of your own written terms. We are not prepared to pay you a buyout fee when in fact you owe us money.

AC went on the fritz and needed immediate attention given the high temperatures and humidity

Called Enercare for emergency repair. Customer rep Daniel was very good, he provided service call appointment within 24 hrs and technician Norm was great, knew what the issue was and tackled the problem while fully explaining the process. He also did many little things to help improve the air flow all while respecting Covid19 protocols.

    Protection Plan

Got ripped off on my electrical protection plan!! I was told that pot light fixture repair was not covered. On the the electrical protection plan it states that pot light repair is covered. Also, contract expires Aug 17th. was told it expired already.
