    Roof replacement project

Dominion roofing was contracted to remove and re shingle my property this year. The entire team at Dominion is first class from thier sales person who visited us and walked us through the selection and features and benefits of the shingles that were to be used on our house. The installation team that installed the shingles were top notch and the time frame that was quoted to install the roof was adheare too. The after sales support to make sure we were happy with our roof was a breathe of fresh air and impressive. We would reccomend Dominion Roofing to our freinds and family.

    Roof repair

I hired Dominion Roofing to repair some damaged shingles on my roof. They were reasonably priced and did a great job matching the existing shingles. Even on a small repair they provided great customer service and delivered a quality job. Great company!

    Roof repair

Wow. Stay away from this company. Not only did they put off doing our repair work for months after getting their deposit (i.e. fixing a leak in my daughter's room), but they only came after I called them concerned about more rainfall and damage. When they did fially come, they did a partial "patchwork" job and I had to hunt them down to get more of the work done. They have been very difficult to deal with, and I wish I had looked on Homestars before calling them.

    Re-Roof

Customer reviews is the way to go...10 years ago when I purchased my house I had no choice but to go with the builder installer. To my surprise I was a repeat customer as I choose the same company my builder choose. Not only did they understood what I wanted as a consumer they worked within my " BUDGET"! I can not thank the staff enough for their professionalism from sales to customer service....Dominion Staff - Thank you, you truly replicate and define a true " Customer First Experience!"

    Total roofing project

We had Dominion Roofing replace our roof over the winter. It was a true pleasure dealing with such a professional company. Our salesman William was first class the production department was very friendly. Dominion also sent someone to do an inspection of the work and clean up of my property. They kept us informed and delivered as promised. I would recommend Dominion Roofing if your looking for a new roof DK

    Brand new home Roof

We own a very new home in Oakville and have had 4 leakage problems with our roof. Builder told me that Dominion did the roofing for our house. 3 of these leakages occurred in the first year and a half, and the 4th problem occurred yesterday, in nearly the same spot as a prior leak (along the same wall). We are absolutely furious that in a brand new home we are having to deal with a leaky roof due to faulty flashing installation. The job that Dominion did on our beautiful house is beyond poor. It's hard to understand why a respected builder like Ballantry Homes would employ Dominion Roofing when we and SEVERAL of our neighbours have experienced the SAME problems since Day 1. Our front porch was the first to leak, every SINGLE time it rained. When this was supposedly repaired, the same water made its way into our garage and we have watermarks and leaks in there too. Third leak was in our breakfast area. Bad installation of flashing seems to be the common cause in all these cases. Now we have another several leaks to deal with, this time INSIDE our home again. The leak is along the SAME wall that extends into the front porch. So basically, when they repaired the flashing above the front porch, the water that used to accummulate there now runs backward toward the house again and is causing several drips and soggy ceiling patches inside our house. Dominion Roofing is horrible. Stay away at any cost. There is no excuse for 4 roof leaks in 2 years in a BRAND NEW HOME. I don't care what their excuses are, their workmanship is simply shoddy and they do not deserve your money.

    Replace roof shingles

    - great job removing 3 layers of old shingles removed for a brand new asphalt shingle roof; - crew went over entire yard with magnets to ensure all random nails picked up and discarded; - asked for a roof vent to be installed for a bathroom fan, but they didn't line it up properly, nor did they cut the hole so we could complete the connection; - when black edging trim (sealing strips?) was installed for our white shingles against a pale brick, we asked for it to be replaced, which happened with no muss or fuss.

Roof replacement, chimney removal, skylight replacement

Here are my problems with this company 1) They send subcontractors to do my job. I chose them thinking that I was getting a big company with a long standing reputation. 2) They did not start work on the day that they were supposed to. When I phoned to check what was going on they seemed surprised and had no idea that my job was to be done. They had given me a call earlier to confirm the start date so I figured there was no reason to be concerned..... until they didn't show up on that date. 3) I opted to have downpipe extensions and underlayment to cover the entire roof. The downpipes were never extended and the underlayment was not placed everywhere. If I had not come home from work one day and noticed that the shingles were going directly onto the wood I would have been none the wiser. Lesson learned watch them while they work. To be clear underlayment was put in some places but not in all places. This is a problem because I had requested for underlayment to be put everywhere (as per the contract). 4) During the skylight replacement our dining room floor received a 2 inch gash in the wood. Not covered by the contract. :( 5) They were slow to respond to e-mails and phone calls when I was displeased about the points above. Sometimes it took more than a week for a response. 8) Production manager failed to ensure that the job done was as per the contract. Made me wonder why I was paying for a production manager. 9) At one point I was arguing with the production manager and his general manager over what was to be done. I was willing to have them come back and fix the job. They refused to remove all shingles and do the job again so that I could be certain that underlayment was placed everywhere. The compromise was that they would cover the cost of a third party roof inspector of my choosing to a maximum of $500. 10) After speaking with two different home inspectors I was advised to offer to pay for only the work that was done and be done with the issue since the roof was done to code. The original job was quoted for 14K and the final adjusted price was 11K. This took two weeks to come to an agreement. As a footnote: I paid them the full amount the day after that I received the final bill. 11) Oh I forgot that they also stated on the original contract that 10 vents should be installed. But they only installed 6. Another failure on the part of the production manager, 12) Workmanship was mediocre. A woven valley was used in one spot instead of a steel valley. That means this valley on the roof will not last as long since it is just overlapping shingles instead of a metal lining. 13) Clean up was not very good. Found broken shingles in the eaves troughs and in the garden. All in all I was looking for a premium roof. They were happy to charge me for one but did very little to ensure that I was getting what I had paid for. Dominion has a fairly large staff of office workers so that means their salaries/overhead is built into the cost. Look elsewhere.
