    Sewer Drain Backup

Our sewer drain in our basement backed up, and within 1 1/2 hours of calling Drainworks, someone arrived (they even called 15 minutes prior to arriving to let us know they would be there). The person I spoke to on the phone, William, was very polite, and the technician, Matt, was knowledgeable and we feel very confident with the work he completed. It was a nice touch that they use booties on shoes and equipment to keep the job neat and tidy. Thank you Drainworks!

    Plumbing - Plugged Drain(s)

We'd like to comment on the excellent effort by Matt of Drainworks. Not only did he arrive when they said, he was efficient and descriptive. Explaining what he had to do and why. Thanks for being a great company! (It's refreshing for a change.)

    Plugged basement drain

I called Friday night at 7:30. Although they put me on an emergency call basis, I told them that Saturday morning was fine too. Armando and Eric arrived promptly at 8AM and explained that they would attempt to clean the block with the camera rather than the snake first to try to save me some money as i wanted the camera anyway. The guys wore their booties(excellent) and set up in a few minutes. The camera revealed a paper blockage only which they cleared and then preoceeded to show me the entire run to the street sewer. All was OK and they cleaned up and presenmted me with the bill minus $20 as agreed to the night before for not being able to attend Friday night. I would not hesitate to contact Drainworks in the future and would highly recommend them to any of my friends and coleagues. Great job Armando and Eric!!

Copper water pipe - returning to the scene

Over a year ago we had work done and at the time DrainWorks seemed excellent. They installed copper pipe (replacing lead pipe) from our property to the City line. Last week there was a major problem when the City repaired their side - there is some lead piping still in the line. Without our solicitation, DrainWorks said they'd investigate their own work at "no charge" to prove to us (homeowner) that all was fine on our side. They showed up and started their investigation - without an estimate or signed contract. Then, the men on site now wanted "some kind of compensation" for their time. They had decided that AFTER they had investigated and found their previous job to be satisfactory that this was not a "warranty" issue - which we, as the homeowner never claimed it to be. We had not wanted them to investigate but would "leave it as it was" - but DrainWorks insisted on investigating. We initially thought this was good of them. But now, they wanted "compensation" ... without an Estimate upfront. We were misled, we thought "no charge" actually meant "no charge". We were pushed to pay "compensation" and have had absolutely rude customer service since trying to right this wrong. Be careful if you choose DrainWorks - do not allow them to push you around and make sure that you get everything in writing BEFORE they come on your property. If any representative from this company tells you they will do something at "no charge" - and attempt to fool you by seeming to care about their customers - do not believe it! -- Just to add a comment re: Eddie Guido's response. It was actually DrainWorks who insisted on returning to our home. Mike told us that we would have to sign a waver releasing DrainWorks Plumbing from liability on their 2008 work if anything happened between their hook-up to lead pipe and the City's hook-up. DrainWorks would assume it was the fault of the City and thus our warranty from 2008 would be void if we signed the waver. As any homeower would do, we refused to sign the waver - and accepted their return at "no charge" - however, they neglected to say that if they found their own work to be satisfactory, that we would in fact have to pay for their digging. No estimate was provided for this up-front. Our problem is actually NOT with the City - I have the City Inspector's report and photographs along with my property line surveyors certificate. This is not the forum for this dispute - we have begun other avenues. This is just a warning to other homeowners. Good luck.

**This review makes claims that are not accurate and they simply do not stand up to scrutiny.** We received a phone call approximately one year after our original work was completed at this client’s home. The timing isn’t an issue in itself, as we guarantee our workmanship for life. The client told us, and I quote, “the city said they cannot find the pipe that you installed". The client then insisted that we return to the home to investigate. We agreed and we arrived at the client’s home that same afternoon. It was explained to the client that we would be more than happy to re–excavate the area in question under the understanding that the problem was a warranty issue as they claimed. After completing the extensive work required, it was clear that the client had been given bad advice from the City Water Department as the client's claim had nothing to do with our work, nor our warranty. This fact, the client Janice readily agreed to and then voluntarily signed approval for on the invoice, which was at a reduced rate. DrainWorks stands behind all of our work and always has. Our warranties are offered as a way to protect our customers, so that if something goes wrong and the problem is as a result of our work, we fix it without charge. It’s really just that simple. Unfortunately, that is not the case in this situation. As a result of bad advice, not from our company or employees, this client is out money. DrainWorks is also out a good deal of money as the work we performed for this client was very deeply discounted. In addition our good name has been presented in a very poor and unfair light. We have great respect for our client’s, and we’ll let our posted reviews speak for the way we work. The client should really be directing their frustrations towards the City Water Department, for they were mislead by them, and that's something we shouldn't be expected to pay for. E Guido, DrainWorks.

    Unplugging Toilet

Armando and Eric were great! Plastic booties upon entering the house. Friendly, courteous service. Nice folks. Explained clearly the options and costs that could be incured. Demonstrated the result of their work with us. Would definitely call for repeat business and recommend them to friends. Good work!

Shower head and tub faucet working poorly

On the day I was waiting to have two billets coming in from Europe I discovered my guest shower/tub faucet was not working properly. It was leaking and plugged with no water pressure coming from the shower. I called Drainworks in a panic and they were quick to respond. I also called other plumbing companies but they could not guarantee me that they would be able to come that day. Drainworks come quickly. They were courteous and didn't leave until the shower was working as if it was brand new. I was totally amazed. I thought I would have to spend a lot more money to redo the entire plumbing but Drainworks fixed my problem. They had the shower fixed before my guests arrived on the same day. There is no greater anxiety a host could experience that their invited guests would not have a shower to use when they had been invited to stay at a persons home from overseas. I couldn't recommend this company more for their timeliness, cleanliness and efficiency. Thank you Drainworks for saving my day!

    drain excavation

From the initial camera work, to explaining the alternatives available, through to excavation and replacement, clean-up and final inspection, the entire team was very thorough and professional. The price was in line with other quotes I got, and the job was completed according to the quote, and on time. I would definitely recommend talking to DrainWorks for any serious plumbing needs.

Clear basement floor drains and outside link to sewer.

The problem in our old Toronto home has been recurring back-ups of the sewer and storm drains in our basement. The Drainworks "analysis" team (Mike and Eric) quickly confirmed (our already well established assumption) that the problem was caused by root penetration both within our home and in the external run that meets the city sewer. Diagnosis using the video camera was compelling-the problem and therefore the recommended solution was clear. The next day the "implementation team" arrived and was able to replace the agreed upon sections of drain in a single day. Their work was clean,competent-and hopefully-durable. The job was done on time and at the agreed price-no surprises. In summary, the Drainworks teams fully met my expectations and objectives-I'd recommend Drainworks unconditionally.

    Plumbing - drain blockage

Our toilet in the basement was clogged and we realized the situation was far more serious when drains in other parts made it obvious there was a blockage. Within an hour of calling Drain Works a plumber arrived and walked us through the process. It turned out we had tree roots growing in our main plumbing pipe. The professional pointed out our options so in future we knew what we would be dealing with. There was no pressure, simply information and extremely helpful. I would recommend Drain Works to anyone!
