    Drain Blockage

We had a great service done by DrainWorks, specifically Matt Achinski. We called a couple companies late Sunday and DrainWorks was the only one that could send someone over that night.Matt came over that evening. He was kind, courtesy and professional. He explained what the problem was, fixed it and answered all our questions. Im glad we went with DrainWorks in the end. I would recommend DrainWorks to anyone.

Fixed blocked drain in Kitchen sink.

We called the dispatch number late on Saturday evening and received a prompt response. The assigned employee, Jeremy, called back and confirmed that he would arrive between 9 and 10 am the following morning (Sunday). He arrived promptly at 9am. He was courteous (e.g. wore booties and protected the work area and cleaned up the work area on completion). He was professional (i.e. he made a quick assessment of the problem, provided an estimate and then went to work). Jeremy solved the problem. This company has a very efficient and consistent approach to service which cannot be under-rated. We have used them before and would use them again.

    Sewer Pipe Replacement

We had a putrid smell coming from our basement drain. Matt arrived with camera in hand and took a look in our pipes leading to the outside. He located a problem of roots growing into the pipes that take our waste out to the main sewer. The roots supposedly were interferring with the smooth flow of the waste water. Two days later, the root was removed, a new piece of pipe installed and the city inspector summoned. All the Drainworks people were conscientious and polite. They seemed to do a good job and didn't pressure us to have more work done than was needed for this. My only thought is that we still have a wee smell now but there are roots in the pipes on the city property. We will have to wait to see what happens to the smell when the city takes care of their section of pipe.

    Plumbing

I had accidently dropped my diamond earing into the sink and it slid into the drain. I called Drainworks and a an appointment was made right away. Armando arrived a few hours later and was able to retrieve the earing. The service was excellent from the moment I called to the final handshake at the door. Friendly, courteous, and proffesional.

    Snaking sink

The upstairs drain in the bathroom sink needed to be snaked. Though I was disappointed to have to do this same work again (having had it looked at just a few weeks ago), I was pleased with Mike's work. He explained what needed to be done and the possibility that more work could be required if there was a leak in the pipes behind the wall.

    Bath/Shower switch replacement

Several weeks ago we used the services of DrainWorks in getting my “shower to bath switch” fixed. It had broken off and we were unable to switch between the two functions any more. I asked a handyman and another plumber to give me an estimate on what it would cost to fix it! After inspecting the broken “switch” neither would commit. Both said that it could cost anywhere between 500 and 5000 depending on what was “behind the wall”. I was scared to take that “do the work” risk without an estimate that was not so extreme, so I committed to neither. One day I found Home Stars online and decided to go with Drainworks - as I saw they had a lot of great reviews! I called in and was told that the plumber would, after taking a look, give me an “to the cent” estimate. Great! The plumber took a look and said that if he could take off the faucet and check “what was behind the wall” he could give me the estimate. I said sure, go ahead. He did and found that it was a doable, affordable job! I was at a Christmas party last night and shared this experience with a bunch of folk…saying it was nice to work with an “intelligent” plumbing company – one that actually came up with a solution on how to give me a proper estimate . Then someone asked me if I received a twenty dollar incentive from Drainworks to write a review at HS! I wish I had been offered such an incentive but sadly Home Stars was not even mentioned by the plumber! Anyhow, I am happy to write this review for FREE!

Shut off valves installed and replaced

What had been a leaky facet turned into a torrent in the early morning hours. The only way to end the flood was to shut off the "rusty" floor level main water valve. A call to Drainworks and a solution was in hand - water valves for the basement bath and a new, accessible valve for the main.

Replace 100 year old sewer line to city sewer lines

The tradesmen of DrainWorks Plumbing were professional, prompt, extremely hard-working, dependable and completed the work required on schedule. Their very able assistance and focused care on the job came at a most inopportune time (just before Christmas with freezing temperatures), and we are very pleased with their work.

    Unclogging shower drain

The receptionist was pleasant and informative, giving an approximate cost of repair and time frame when I could expect service. Someone did phone before Matt Achinski arrived on time. Matt was very helpful answering all my questions, he kept our house clean and he was very professional. The cost was exactly as expected. I have already told family about your company and would definitely recommend your services to anyone needing plumbing repairs. I admire you for respecting good customer service and charitable donations.
