This was my fourth move using El Cheapo in the past five or six years. That probably tells you everything you need to know about them. They've always been friendly, fast, respectful of my stuff -- professional in every way, and affordable on top. Other reviews seem to suggest you need some luck with the crew you end up with. In my case I've had different crews for every single move and they've always been great.

Movers damaged floors and walls while moving a fridge. Told Ted would call me to make arrangements to have my property fixed, installed had to call with blocked number to get an answer. I was then yelled at and hung up on when I asked for the owner's name. If the owner reads these reviews would love for you to be in touch!

Awesome mover!!! Third time using El Cheapo and they continue to exceed my expectations. Amazingly well run company and some of the nicest, politest, most accommodating movers I have ever met. From a easy, clear, concise, detailed booking experience, to confirmation and follow up, to some of the best movers in the business showing up. Ahmed and Allen handled a very detailed move with one pick up and then 3 subsequent drop off destinations without any issue or complaint. From picking up in Leaside, 2 stops in the Beach, with additional picking up there to the final destination in Oakville they were exemplary. Everyone along the way said they they were some of the best and wouldn't hesitate to use or recommend. Great job El Cheapo, Ahmend and Allen!

What a pleasurable move. The guys called half an hour before arriving, which helped put us at ease. All three of the guys were very friendly, and showed concern not only for our belongings, but also for making sure we got value for our money. They took two loads, and had us in the new house within 4 hours! Great experience.

We moved with El Cheapo for the second time in 7 months. First move was in December 2013, it went smooth, the crew (2 movers) arrived on time, was professional, we were satisfied with our experience. Based on that we hired El Cheapo again for our June 20 move. The moving crew itself was fine, we have no complaints, they did their job and 3 stars are due to their efforts only. The office staff (or management, booking people, however they are called) were on the other hand terrible. The elevator at the first location was booked from 1pm to 3 pm. El Cheapo office staff apparently considers this as a "window of arrival" of the moving crew. When I found out about it, I immediately phone them and spoke to Gail from the office staff, and told her that this is not a window of arrival, this is the time when the elevator is booked for our move. She assured me that the crew would be on time, even called back and said that she had to shuffle some things around to make sure that the crew would be on time. Well, it wasn't. The moving crew had a prior move somewhere downtown, and arrived at 2:40pm, or 20 minutes before end of our elevator booking. Also, at around 2:10-2:20 pm Toby from the office staff called my husband and advised to take a third mover since the move is delayed, for additional price obviously. We felt utterly helpless, because the movers were running so late and had NO CHOICE but to agree to additional mover and additional cost. We were not offered any form of apology from the office people, or any sort of discount for all the inconvenience they put us through. We will not use or recommend El Cheapo to anyone anymore (we did to a couple of people after our first experience).

It was a pleasure to deal with this company. Every aspect of the move was outlined in advance, in writing, and confirmed by telephone. The movers themselves were prompt, courteous, fast, and very capable. We have moved numerous times in the past and this was by far the easiest. We would strongly recommend El Cheapo Movers to anyone considering a local move.

I have used El Cheapo twice in the past two years. Great both times, no complaints. Would recommend! They moved me from Kitchener to Toronto, then again from Lakeshore to Weston/401.

Friend recommended El Cheapo - and so glad I took him up on the recommendation. Brendan and the crew were excellent - were punctual and had the move out and the move in completed quickly. Would use them again without a doubt.

Nathan and Neil introduced themselves right away and I really appreciated their care, customer-focus, and friendliness. They were patient and listened to my concerns about moving the couch. It is bulky and vintage and I didn’t want it damaged in the move. The way that Nathan and Neil moved the couch, spoke to experience and knowledge about how to get big things out of smaller, tighter spaces. They work very well together. Once they had the couch inside my place, they asked me where I wanted it moved to and whether I wanted them to put the wheels back on or if I preferred to do it myself. It may not seem like huge details, however I appreciate the little things and the attention that was given. After having a last-minute fallout with the previous moving company that I had hired to move the couch, I was frustrated and stressed out. The El Cheapo team came through for me and turned an experience that started out on a negative note into a very positive one.

I had a terrible experience with El Cheapo and wouldn't recommend them to anyone. They completely screwed up my move and refused to offer any kind of apology for it, let alone a discount. They were great in the beginning and acted like customer service was important to them, but as soon as they messed things up, they ignored me completely and made no effort to fix the situation.
