I had a disreputable contractor install a Montigo Gas Fireplace in my basement. Not only was the venting dangerous, the unit itself would not light on a consistent basis. After fixing the vents, I spent weeks badgering Montigo for a solution. Their distribution centre suggested I call Scott at Gas Fix. He fixed the problems with the ignition, advised on how to better clean our glass and now the unit works properly. He was on time, thorough, and the charges were as outlined in the original phone call for service. I will use Gas Fix again, and would recommend them to others.

We hired a company to open our pool this year and when we went to fire up the pool heater it was reading 'LO' and then 'IF'. We called the pool opening company who said that the pool was fine so there must be an issue with the heater. I sourced Gasfix through Homestars and following my late Saturday afternoon email message they responded to set up an appointment within 30 minutes. Joe came to my home and walked me through every part of his inspection and taught me a few things about my pool too. He was courteous, highly knowledgeable, very personable and very efficient. As it turned out, my issue was a minor one and my heater is up an running. I would definitely have Gasfix come out and service my pool heater next year as well as have them come and service my gas fireplaces come the early fall. A great customer service experience!

Our pool heater would not fire up so I called GasFix. Jason asked how old the unit was and the make and advised me that it still may be under warranty.He also mentioned that they service warranties for Hayward. The technician arrived on time and had the unit going in about 5 minutes. Very professional staff.

Great service, good value and quality work. Scott came to look at my 1988 pool heater the same day I called. He had the replacement parts with him. He found a bigger issue with the burners that were worn out. Rather than put more money into this old heater I chose to replace it. Scott had the correct replacement in stock at a good price and installed it 2 days later.

In three words- excellent customer service. The same day I called for service Geoff came out. He explained the problems with the old heater and my options. Jason worked to get a new heater out to us the next morning and before noon Scott and Brian had the pool heating up for the party later that day. High Five GAS FIX. (Everything they told me checked out - good recommendation of replacement heater, price reasonable and installation clean (they even painted the gas pipe.)

Very responsive and professional. I needed a gas line installed to replace an old bbq with a new one (Napoleon) that required a larger natural gas hose. I called on the Sunday of the May long weekend and had a call back Tuesday morning at 8:30am. Very impressed with Scott's very quick follow-up and had the the line installed Wed morning. This was my request as Scott was willing to come out immediately to have it serviced but I wasn't available. I won't bother wasting my time with anyone else - I'll use these guys every single time.

Short story: Do not call anyone else. This is a firm that specializes in fireplaces, knows its stuff, is prompt and reliable, and delivers outstanding value. Long story: Bought a home, fancy gas fireplace not working. Contacted another firm, highly-rated on Home Stars. They were very pleasant and responsive, but unable to repair the fireplace despite many visits over several weeks. Nice folks but I ultimately gave up and contacted Scott and Gas Fix. Scott got the make and model number in advance, knew it well, brought parts in case they were needed, inspected everything, got the fireplace working in under 15 minutes -- then quickly simplified the controls and added a remote as I had wanted, reset the log configuration properly, added embers, and cleaned the glass meticulously. Fire looks and feels great and we're delighted. Prime in Toronto

Totally reliable and pleasant service representatives. They know their product. Moreover, they are dependable; they arrive on the date and time agreed to and they finish their work on time. There are no surprises.

The gas fireplace in my condo wasn't working when I moved in. The contractor referred by the building told me that the fireplace was old, and couldn't be repaired. He indicated that the fireplace and all duct work would have to be replaced, for around $10,000 to $15,000. Another resident suggested that I call Gas Fix. Scott came out, assessed the situation, and was able - over the course of three visits - to get the fireplace working again for under $2,000. I think the work turned out to be more difficult than anticipated, but I was impressed by the effort and determination of Scott to get the job done, and get it right. When a follow up visit was required to eliminate some rattling, Scott came out at no charge to tighten things up. I recommend Scott and Gas Fix highly.

The protective glass in our gas fireplace shattered. As we were going away time was very limited.Dwayne came very punctually to measure and to clean out the broken glass and then came to replace it and ensure the unit was working correctly. He was punctual, courteous and meticulous. Job well done - thank you!
