    injection of isoneyne foam

We hired Jerry's insulation to inject foam into the walls of our 1925 brick home. The crew did the job in one day and did a decent job. I found that they really downplayed the size of the holes left and that the repair job with plaster was really basic and didn't adequately fix the wall. We still had to go ahead and do a few more layers of plaster repair. Overall not bad, just be prepared to do a little more touch up after they are gone.

    Answer from pro:

Thank you for your feedback Stella. The application you are describing is known as a drill & fill. The holes drilled must be 1" in diameter, in order to properly inject the walls with foam. Also, we try to clearly indicate to all our customers that we cork and patch all holes, but additional patching will have to be done by the homeowner, simply because of the time required for patch to adequately dry before re-applicaton. Thanks again for your feedback, we always appreciate hearing from our customers.

Loose fill insulation for high-efficiency home

From the other posts I see on this site, it looks like Jerry's might have a big problem with their spray-foam division, but we thought they did a great job on the Loose-Fill insulation for our attic. The guys who showed up were friendly, accommodating and were good enough to hustle (where they could) because our baby needed to get down for a nap.

    Answer from pro:

Colin, thanks for your feedback. Jerry's is a full service insulation company and we have been installing both fiberglass and spray foam insulation for many years. Glad to hear you were pleased with the service you received. Some of our installers have been with us for over 20 years, they are therefore highly experienced in properly installing insulation as well as providing exceptional customer service.

    Wall insulation

We had our walls insulated with Icynene pour foam by Jerry's Insulating. They had to drill two holes every couple of feet or so. There was quite a bit of dust flying around from the drilling because we have plaster walls. They were vacuuming and cleaning up as they worked to minimize the dust. They patched all the holes once the they were finishing filling them with the foam. It was quite an expensive job, but well worth it. We only had a 2" space in the walls and the foam had done a great job. A couple of months after the crew was here I had a concern about a cold wall and some patch that had shrunk up over the hole. I called the office and left a message. Not only was my call returned promptly, but they arranged for "Ken" to come out and check the wall for me. He added some extra patch and it turned out the wall I was concerned about was full of foam. I am so impressed by this company. Not only did they do a great job, but when I called with some concerns, the follow-up service was exceptional. This is a great company and I would recommend them to anyone.

Waltite spray foam insulation on exterior walls

We contracted Jerry's to install Waltite foam insulation on our exterior walls and Icynene foam insulation in our attic. Both insstallations were scheduled to take place on the same day, however, due to delays from other contractors, we had to delay the the attic installation. Before we were forced to delay the attic installation, we had installed the 2nd floor ceiling drywall that was necessary so that the foam insulation could be layed in the attic. As the Waltite is quite toxic and highly flamable, we could not be in the houae while the installation took place or for a minimum of 24 hours after the installtion. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to return to the house to continue with the project until four days later due to a number of meetings, my car was broken into, etc. Imagine my surprise to find that the drywall had not been covered and therefore half of it had been ruined by the chemical spray (it had not formed into the foam)! When I contacted Jerry's to request compensation for the new drywall that had to be purchased and installed, I was informed that they could EASILY remove the residue so there was no necessity to remove and install new dryall. I was willing to accept this compromise, however, days later they had not called or showed to fix the damage. I called them 4 times and gave them a number of available times. They've chosen to ignore even the final deadline that I provided them with. In that one phonecall that we did receive to say that the residue could be easily removed, they asked why I waited so long to contact them and I explained the insanity of my week. I also informed them that for over $3,000 I didn't think it was unreasonalbe to expect perfection....that comment hasn't been disputed.

We apologize if you felt our response was delayed. We do pride ourselves on exceptional customer service and our goal is customer satisfaction. Basement insulation

We contracted Jerry's Insulating Co. Ltd. to put in 3.5" of foam insulation. After the crew installed the foam, there were many areas where the actual thickness of the insulation was less than an inch, and indeed bare wall was visible in some cases. Further, a crack developed several inches wide in the insulation. When we called the company back to see it, we were told the job was well done and were advised to stuff the gaping crack with fiberglass insulation. We went with the foam option because we did not want the lower R-value and permeability of fiberglass. Overall, our insulation thickness is far less than it's supposed to be, and Jerry's crew was indifferent to this job. Like the other reviewer said, they're dishonest and sub-par. I would advise looking elsewhere for your insulation needs.

    Answer from pro:

Thank you for your comments Art. We certainly take all our customer concerns seriously, and I apologize if you felt our response was not adequate. We have been in business for over 35 years and many of our customers are referred to us. We appreciate your feedback nonetheless.

    Icynene in attic

I hired Jerry's to apply Icynene in my attic under entire my roof deck (partial cathedral ceiling). The estimate included spraying the insulation down to the bottom of the roof at the soffit. Part of the roof is already covered by a finished ceiling. After the job was completed, the workers claimed they sprayed the entire roof. However, I was able inspect several hidden areas which showed no insulation under the roof. Even after I challenged them on not completing what was in the estimate, they insisted they did the work. Eventually, to proof their case, they drill holes into the cathedral ceiling between the rafters... and found NO insulation. So they returned and injected insulation through the access holes they made in the ceiling, but I had to repair and refinish the ceiling myself as a result of their sloppy work. Jerry's price was low but I would rather go with another contractor I can trust.

    Answer from pro:

Thank you for your comments. We pride ourselves on excellent service and workmanship, this includes fixing any oversights that might have been made. Unfortunately, once drywall is put up, the only way to access the space is by drilling holes. We appreciate all feedback that we receive and thank you for taking the time to make your comments.

    Attic blown insulation

Right off the bat, from the first phone call, I could tell that Jerry's Insulating Co. was very professional. Indeed, after booking them, I received a breakdown of services and a confirmation call. They arrived as scheduled and insulated my attic above the requested amount. I strongly recommend them.

Attic Insulation - make my second cool

I had Jerry come in and check the attic insulation of my 5 years old house because it is getting unbearable hot in the summer. The temperature different between the main floor and the second floor is easily 3 degree C even with the A/C on. Jerry insulation comes in and provided an estimate, upgraded my attic insulation from R30 to R55 and my second floor is real cool in the summer now. No temperature difference with A/C on, only 1 degree C difference if A/C is off. They were on time, on budget, responsive and I get the result I wanted. I would recommend Jerry's insulation. I may have them come back and do the garage ceiling because the room above the garage is cold in the winter.

    Answer from pro:

Thank you for your comments. We are glad that we were able to help keep your second floor cool, and that you were pleased with the service provided. At Jerry's we pride ourselves on many of our customers being referred to us or repeat customers. We would be more than happy to help you with any future insulation projects.

    Basement and crawl space insulation

Jerry's insulation responded to my quote request quickly and provided me with a good overview of what the job required. The quote was very reasonable. The actual job was done quickly and efficiently, the contractors kept the dirt to a minimum and cleaned up after themselves. Our house has warmed up considerably since even on extremely cold days. Sealing the crawl space helped with the draft problem we had. good job!

    Attic Insulation

We had been looking for someone to get quotes on insulating an attic in an older house. Not only did Jerry's Co. come in with a good price for insulating, they were fast, efficient, extremely clean and knew their service very well. They also delivered on their promise charging us exactly what was quoted, they were able to insulate our house within a few weeks of the quote and in only a couple of hours (at a busy time) and we were very impressed with how it has completely changed the temperature of our house. We haven't received a new heating bill, but I know it will cut our heating costs as the house stays warmer and needs less heat. Both Alan and John were excellent and I would recommend this company to my friends. If you are sceptical like we were, ask for a quote - it is free and you are not bound by their services, but I am sure you will be impressed with the price.
