This was the first time we looking for a paving company. We didn't know where to look (newspaper, internet, etc). From the ones we gathered, Ludwig is the only one with good rating from Homestars.com, the next best was a 5 out of 10. So it was an obvious choice. And we are very happy that we chose them. All crew members showed up on the job date before start time, and they observed Toronto's noise bylaw to the dot, and patiently waited till 7:00am to start the work. The team is very experienced, because you can tell each member knew exact what to do at any moment, there was no slacking at all. The entire team worked like a clock work. In the end, the driveway came out very nice.

This is our second time using Ludwig, having used them on our first and second homes. We were so pleased with the first use that using them again was a no-brainer. You will pay a small premium for them but it's well worth it. They use premium products, don't skip any corners, and their attention to the smallest detail is the best in this industry. William is an honest and genuine sales rep and George and his crew are second to none. Our driveway had some tough grading challenges and they resolved them fully. George has treated both our driveways like he was working on his own home They are also respectful and clean.

Connected with William in advance knowing their are busy during the season. I can tell the following: Excellent timely communications Pleasant attitude of William and his team Good understanding of needs Timely completion, no delays Excellent quality of work, right grading and material. We had another contractor who has installed the interlock borders. William and team arrived as soon as they've finished, no delays despite the busy season. Highly recommended.

A job well done! William came to provide a paving estimate within a few days of our request. He gave a clear and written detailed description of the job. It was clear that customer satisfaction was a high priority for him. (We obtained 5 estimates, two of whom did not even bother to come look at the site, they just quoted on the phone based on how many cars you could park in the driveway!!!) We chose Ludwig for their high Homestars rating and their professionalism. We were very satisfied with the service and the job that was done. Everything was done well and was done in a very reasonable timeframe.

I needed to have my driveway repaved as it was sinking in. William from Ludwig came and explained the process and costs. The service was timely and efficient. It has been almost a year and the driveways looks great. Thank you William and your team!!

Its been 9 years now since Ludwig did our driveway and it still looks amazing. We plan to renovate this spring and im sure it will get damaged, but when the reno is over there is only one company I will be calling to re-pave my driveway.

Had to get two driveways graded and repaved. Sought quotes from five vendors, and Ludwig came out on top. Price was mid-range, but service, quality, communications, and attention to detail were absolutely exceptional. Joe and his crew were punctual and took pride in their work. Dealing with Joe was fantastic and he assisted throughout various phases of the work. Would absolutely recommend!

I had the driveway re-paved this year. I prepared a specification and tendered to three bidders. Ludwig Paving was selected and I am very pleased with the quality of the work. Because Toronto Hydro was doing upgrades in the neighbourhood, I was concerned that it might impact the work. While I investigated whether Toronto Hydro would be excavating our driveway, William and Lina stayed in touch and when it was ascertained that our driveway would be unaffected, Ludwig excavated the old driveway and applied a new gravel base. Four weeks later, the new asphalt was applied. The crew was very careful and the job was done professionally.

I would highly recommend Ludwig Paving, Joe and his crew were professional and worked well as a team. Did a great Job, from start to finish. Pricing is fair and crew were punctual on both occassions.

After reading the reviews for paving companies on Home Stars and and considering we've been experiencing contractor difficulties over the past few years with 2 properties, we decided that we would hire Ludwig Paving Co. based not only on their positive reviews but also on the company's favorably professional response to unfavorable customer reviews. We even did a Google search on Ludwig and watched a CP News story on UTube in which Ludwig rescued an elderly disable lady from a paving job mishandled by another company which left the poor lady in a mess and Ludwig came to her rescue and did the job without charge -we were impressed? [Please note: we're not expecting any work for free. -just acknowledging an incredibly kind act of public service.] However, I've been attempting to contact the company for the past 6 weeks by means of: HomeStars message link, repeated voice mails to the company answering machine (after 6-8 placed calls not a single live person has taken any calls or returned messages), and i've followed the company phone directory instructions and left all the details as per their recorded instructions. I even went so far as to record that i've been trying to contact them for several weeks and could someone please return my call -and apologized for gradually becoming persistent because i'd heard they are the best... After 6 weeks of no return calls from Ludwig, I called a competitor who answers his phone personally but he's so busy now that he referred me to Ludwig and paid the highest compliment to their competitor saying that "Ludwig is the only other paving company in Toronto I'd [he'd] recommend as they are the only ones that would do the right like us". We are preparing our home for sale and we care about all work being done and that the new owners can be secure that the work rendered is sound and safe and that they and the work are both protected by skilled trades and transferable warranties. I'm afraid we'll miss our listing date of mid-October and our drive is all tore up as we water proofed the entire exterior of the home In July after another contractor's "interior water proofing" performed in January not only failed but left us with more water issues than we'd initially had and new damages and now we're chasing the clock trying to redo reno's only months old and struggling to get on with other projects not yet tackled. My apologies as I've never written a review on anyone much less a negative one but we looking to Ludwig who is considered the best to return our calls and to help us. Would someone from Ludwig please return our call as we're good honest people who are more than fair to deal with? Thank you kindly in advance as we truly appreciate just how busy contractors are at this busy time of year but we need to speak to a reputable company such as yourselves, Sincerely, Customer in waiting
