This place is so disorganized that their poor service begins to feel malicious & fraudulent after months of phone calls not being returned and being hung up on many times. It's really too bad becuase they carry amazing pieces of furniture and now that we FINALLY have it in our home it's beautiful? Dealing with this place is certainly not worth the hassle...keep looking!

After waiting 3 months on our furniture... we have called 3 days in a row now to find out what is going on. Not once has our call been returned. Not Happy Jan!!!

We purchased (and paid in full) a dresser and two night table from G.H. Johnsons a few weeks ago. We were told they had them in stock and that they would be delivered on a certain date to our shippers because we are moving overseas. They did not deliver as promised nor did they call our shippers to let them know they would not be delivering. We had to follow up and soon discovered that they never had the pieces in stock and would have to order them. Based on other's experiences, I'm not sure I trust them to order them in time to make it on my shipment. I will NEVER buy from G.H. Johnsons agian.

I purchased a dining room table from GH a while ago and thought I would share my lousy experience. I am a firm believer in the notion of "Buyer Beware" so I only blame myself BUT I also expect some common sense and decency from the seller. The sales staff have NO CLUE about their products. They told me my table was made in Canada (more specifically they said in Brampton). When I EVENTUALLY received the table (which they expected me to pay full price before even getting it) it had "MADE IN CHINA" stamped all over it. I discovered later that evening, the table is covered in cheap veneers and I was told it was solid oak. The sales people overall act like their customers are an imposition and just a formality in the sales process. I would never purchase anything there again and I would never recommend them to others. If you like the products they sell - write down the info of the manufacturer and buy direct. It seems like most of the companies they deal with sell direct to consumers any way.

I stumbled across this site and was stunned by the number of negative comments regarding GH Johnson's Trading. Of course, there are people whose shopping experience fell short and I'm not going to begrudge them they're compaint. However, in my experience, most people, like myself, who are happy with a service, rarely seek out sites like this and write letters. Over three years and two household moves, I've purchased a number of items to furnish my homes. On each occassion, I've been looked after in a professional and courteous manner. Delivery has always been punctual. I think what some people may not appreciate is that a lot of the product is shipped in container from overseas. So, if there is a delay, it's on the other end of the world. This may mean you won't get your items when staff beleives the next container is due. But given the more than favorable price point, I think that the remote possiblity of a delay is well worth the trip to GH Johnson's. That's the trade off. Besides, they're really terrific people and it's worth a visit just to see the building. One happy custumer, Maico

My wife and I recently came back from our honeymoon and went to G.H. Johnsons to purchase our furniture for our new home. How exciting it is, or so we thought. It turned out to be a nightmare dealing with these guys. We were promised our furniture at a certin time and low and behold we were told it would take another 3 MONTHS before it was delievered. Now me and my wife are sleeping on a futon matress that someone is lending us on the floor. Thanks to Johnsons they have made the first part of our married life nothing but constant fighting and "I told you so's" . Everyones cranky without a good nights sleep and 4 months of not being able to sleep at night is really starting to take a toll on us. As for recomending Johnson's to anyone else, NEVER. As for there customer service, again NEVER. It makes me wonder if they tell you one delivery date just to sell you there product and get your deposit. Then keep you in the wind as to when your item is actually gonna be delievered. In conclusion to my ranting all I have to say is one thing. Steer clear from these guys, after speaking with others and checking some reviews about them online, I can see that I'm not the only one that this has happened to. As for the people who have rated them as a 10, I start to wonder how there can be 2 complete opposite sides of the spectrum on this one. Makes you wonder if Johnson's is not makin up there own reviews and posting them on this site. Still waiting and sleeping on the floor.. A very dissatisfied customer.

This is the first time I hearabout Home Stars, from a friend. I was recommended by my friends Mike and Lesley to GHJonson's. Beautiful showroom,(a little crowded), great service, wonderful prices.Very friendly staff , not pushy, (a plus). We bought a sectional sofa (gorgeous), a TV stand and a coffe table about 6 weeks ago, our sales rep was Mr. Kennedy, he was very helpful, he introduced us to Mr. Pat Johnson the owner, we got a great deal from him, he is one funny man, just great. Mr. Johnson told us it would take 4-6 weeks for delivery , and if we had any questins or concerns to call a new customer service rep. Helenka that she would look after us. We did call this lady 3 weeks later she told us she will call us back with the update the same day and she did, we got our furniture in 5 weeks, looking great, delivery men were on time and very nice. (even took off their shooes. Mr. Johnson thank you and your great staff for a wonderful service, please believe me I will recommend you to all my friend and co-workers to you. Cheers. If you are looking for good prices on excellent furniture then you should definately purchase furniture at G.H. Johnson's. We recently purchased a sofa bed at a very reasonable price. Upon delivery we realized that a mistake had been made in the order and we did not recieve the sofa bed version. This could have been a problem had it not been for the honesty and genuine good nature of Pat Johson himself. He apologized for any inconvenience, let us hold on to the delivered item until the correct one arrived and even offered to reduce the purchase price due to the inconvenience. Mistakes happen, but it is what is done after the mistake that speaks volumes about the company and its leadership. We were so impressed that we even purchased our sons bedroom furniture from the store. Again, the prices were great and Patrick himself spent a great deal of time with us to ensure we made the right decision. We cant say enough about this place and the people who work there.

This is a reply to Salvatore who wrote a review earlier this month. I am a paying customer of GH Johnson and have been a customer since the mid 1990's. I have never had a problem with anyone from the company. They have gone out of their way to take care of our needs and answer all our questions about the products that we have purchased. I do not know why others are writing bad reviews, perhaps these are the same people who look for a very good bargain and also want the moon. What people have to understand is that GH Johnson is not a Leon's, Brick or Sears. They are distributors. They source out the products that a customer wants and delivers it a very competative if not cheaper price. There may be problems (eg. supplier shutdowns, delivery to their warehouse etc) but when they do get it - their customer will surely be notified and a delivery will be scheduled as was the case with me. We got our products in today at the time that they promised, their delivery staff were polite and courtious and we were one again very satisfied. Keep up the great work Patrick. Respectfully, Jose

If you are looking to get the best 'bang' for your hard earned 'buck' GH.J is the store to go. I was in the market to buy furniture for 3 bedrooms and a living room, while having a spending budget of $4000. I searched for quality, price, service, and manufacturers warranty and was rewarded with spending $3500 and 3 out of 4 of my requirements fulfilled (price, quality, manuf. warranty). I am very happy with my purchases. Pat Johnson also gave me what I consider to be an amazing deal. Everyone who have visited my home has since gone to GH.J and purchase something for their home or made a referral to others. I went to Johnson's knowing that I would have to give something to get what I want...for me the service was where I was willing to compromise and so I had no disappointment. Truly speaking however, the service was not worst than any other such supplier, you just have to keep on top of them to get an outcome you will be satisfied with. Thanks Johnson's...
