After 5 quotes I chose Sonoma Contracting. Although NOT the lowest quote, their proposal offered the most. Work started on time. The tradespeople who worked on this project were all helpful, professional and work was of the highest quality. There were no hidden surprises and the project was completed within the budget. Mike Flammia, the coordinator, was easy to contact, answered all of my questions/concerns and helped me find alternative solutions if an issue arose. I will use this company again for future renovations and I would highly recommend this company to anyone who is planning a renovation/build project.

We were impressed with the quality of the work done by Sonoma - they lined up really great trades, and Mike kept us up to date over email, and answered our many questions. If there were overages, they were explained to us in advance and clearly marked on invoicing. They were responsive to changes we wanted once the renovation was underway and we are thrilled with the final results. Sonoma specializes in basements, and it's clear to see why - we had a positive experience and would recommend them to others.

Mike not only kept us very close to budget, he also had great insight to ideas and completed the job in a professional and responsible manner. We had a hard deadline as well, and he managed to keep everything on schedule nicely.

Our basement was 90% complete all we needed to do was fix some areas that included gutting, fixing the floors , patching holes from pulling electrical cables and painting. From the first day the crew was in our home, there was no sign of a mess and the quality of work was already starting to show. The end result is exactly what we were expecting and the best part was dealing with Mike. It's very hard to find honest and hard working contractors these days. But Mike put our faith back into them. We would go back to Mike on a heartbeat and recommend him to everyone. They were always on time starting the work and very polite.

We needed our 110 yr old basement gutted. Real dirty and complicated job. Mike came and surveyed the job. Was really nice and explained a lot of what he would be doing. No BS at all. His team showed up on time ready to work and were super friendly. Job was done, site was clean as a whistle. We will definitely be using them again.

After our basement was torn out following the Great Summer Flood of 2013, we contracted with Sonoma to rebuild it. We went with Sonoma after getting multiple quotes. Sonoma's was the most competitive and they were able to get started almost immediately. Mike was very easy to work with and all of the trades were responsive and accommodating. They completed the job on budget and on time and we're very pleased with the result. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Sonoma for any extensive renovation work.

Sonoma Contracting Inc: I contacted Mike Flammia after a new window was installed wrong and did not pass the city inspection. Mike did an excellent job. He came to visit the site when he said he would come, he did the job on the day and time the told me he would do it, and he followed-up and was present when for the inspection to ensure that he did what he suppose to do. Also, he went the extra mile to ensure that painting work already done was not damage. I am grateful to this company for the quality of their job. I strongly recommend them.

Mike and his team impressed us from the very first meeting. They were friendly, knowledgeable and honest. Mike provided us a very detailed scope of work and budget. The project was completed on time and on budget, even though some of the sub-contractors I brought in to complete certain tasks held him up. He went above and beyond by helping us coordinate the services of our sub-contractors. He was always accommodating and flexible when scheduling trades to come into our home. His attention to detail and the craftsmanship of his trades people made our home renovation project a true labour of love. We have moved in to our house and it has felt like home from the first day, in large part due to the work of Mike and all his trades at Sonoma Contracting. Thanks Mike!

This was our first major renovation (basement) with Sonoma. We interviewed many contractors, including strong referrals from friends and family, narrowed down the list and re-interviewed, and Mike stood out on top every time. His quotes are extremely detailed and actually helped us to truly understand the extent of the job, which was very refreshing to see in comparison to all the other contractor quotes. Mike was very accommodating and flexible with some work that we wanted to perform ourselves and helped us to plan when we could start. There were a few minor issues, but those are to be expected. Mike handled it professionally, and ultimately to our complete satisfaction. Moreover, he provided solid (yet simple) recommendations to help increase basement height, and overall look and feel. His tradesmen are highly professional, and provide the same level of quality and customer service as Mike. We are very happy with the work completed, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend him or contact him again for other renovation projects.
