Total Renovations (TR) were the consummate professionals. Process:- From the outset they engaged a design architect to deliver a plan for the renovation and provided a detailed estimate of costs and timeline for deliverables. We carefully reviewed the plan and TR made recommendations where we could save significant dollars in considering various construction alternatives. We NEVER felt "upsold". Once we entered in to the contract, TR provided a very detailed line item excel spreadsheet with cost breakdown and corresponding estimated completion date of the work. Permits were secured and the job started on time. Every week there was a regularly scheduled meeting where TR reviewed (1) the work completed and (2) the work ahead. They would make note of where we were behind per the schedule (which was only ever minor and commonly weather-related) and where they felt it could be caught up (and it always did). The crew and all sub-traded engaged were very professional, experienced and punctual. All crew adhered to safety standards. We love our new kitchen. It is beautiful and functional. Our dinners have never tasted better!

I had used Total Renovations about 15 years ago to completely gut and renovate my old house, and recently we used them for our recent (2016-different house!) main floor kitchen and floor remodel, basement mold removal / waterproofing, whole house electrical and HVAC upgrade. Mark and his team, as well as the tradespeople he employs are reliable & trustworthy folks. If you have a large project, I would absolutely recommend them.

We finished our basement using Total Renovation. We explained why it was going to be a difficult job and Mark assured us he was up to the challenge. That was not the case. He quickly became panicky and we got the impression he was out of his depth. Everything went wrong - they told us to buy a certain size of vanity, but then made the opening too small, the radiant heated floor didn't work and to this day it has never worked (they credited us some money but we have a very cold basement bathroom). They cracked ceramic tiles and left them installed with cracks, the pot lights don't work, the list goes on and on. He came back once because there is black mould growing in our shower but he only responded because I sent a threatening note. We had a terrible experience.

Mark Madigan and his crew completed several projects in my house: kitchen renovation (2001), bathrooms and basement complete renovation (2007), balcony deck and stairs renovation (2015). From the initial quote to the end of the projects Mark and his crew have always been honest, professional, efficient, on time and on budget, always clean and polite. Mark has always been available on site and on call to discuss changes and provide alternatives and suggestions giving us peace of mind during the realization of the projects. On top of this, he and his crew still help us with the maintenance and necessary repairs of the property. We had a wonderful experience with this company and do not hesitate to recommend it! This is the second project we've hired Total Renovations to do for us and we're delighted to have them back. Three and half years ago they did an entire renovation of the home and put on an addition. We can't say enough great things about them. The quality of workmanship is outstanding. The guys are extremely friendly and professional. And Mark Madigan is excellent to work with - regularly communicating with us each step of the way. The project is done. We're now at the stage of just enjoying all of the positive comments from neighbours and passers-by. We would hire Total Renovations again without hesitation and highly recommend them.

Total Renovations returned to our home to change our tiny 1950's kitchen into a beautifully open and better functioning galley-style with tons of counter space. Working with Mark and Bill on the design, we removed 2 walls and closed over the now extra stairs to the basement which opened the room all the way to the rear addition (that Total also did in 2001). The plan proceeded as laid out in the contract week by week and came in under budget. It included many sub-contractors that were coordinated well even with the unexpected asbestos removal before demolition could begin. The team at Total are highly skilled individuals and they work in a professional manner. They were patient with our many ongoing questions and kept us up-to-date on progress. After each day, they cleaned all areas before leaving and respected our property. Although we trust in Mark's integrity, we appreciated seeing the final breakdown spreadsheet where some items had to be over in the predicted cost but most items came in under Mark's estimate. We also added renovating the basement laundry area and back-flow valve installation. We are very happy with our new space and appreciate the efforts of Steve, John and Gary. Over the last 15 years, we've used Total for many projects and we have recommended them to friends and family.

We had a terrific experience with Total Renovations. From the design process through to final completion, we were completely satisfied with the service and workmanship of everyone we dealt with. I would absolutely recommend Total Renovations.

We have hired Total Renovation several times since the late 90's to do work for us. We have really enjoy working with Mark and his team. We really trust Mark's judgement and feedback. They are very collaborative and generally get things done within a reasonable timeframe. Earlier this year, we had the basement completed gutted and redone with a new furnace and bathroom.
