As spring is around the corner I am inspired to comment on my new fence built by Doing It All last summer. Let me first say what a difference in craftsmanship compared to my neighbours' fencing - and not just in the obvious new colour. My neighbours have come over to impressively view it from last year. James and his crew were professional, personable and highly communicative and accurate. You get what you pay for. They gave what they promised, and so did we. Do your homework and understand how supply and demand work so that you don't review based on emotion because you were difficult to deal with. I could not begin to understand how this company could get any poor reviews. We look forward to having our deck designed and built by DIA next season to complete our fresh backyard oasis. Special thanks to James and his crew at Doing It All. Last sumer DIA did fence for our whole street. Started and completed in a little over a week. My husband in I had them do our deck for us. Couldn't be happier! James gave us a great deal for doing fence and deck together. Great craftsmanship great crew. Would defiantly recommend them to anyone.

Nice, prompt and co-operative crew. Work was done with little interruption to our day to day life. They worked clean and were respectful to our home. Work finishings were done well and on budget. Very little criticism needed throughout the project. Very happy with the results so far. Because they work primarily in my neighbourhood they were easily available for any questions or concerns I had throughout the process. We have recommended them to our neighbour for likely another basement. We are excited to get out deck done in the spring!

I'll highly recommend avoiding any and all business with James and "Doing It All - Fence and Deck". James and crew completed the majority of my fence dating back to the end of July 2014. At that time, James promised me that they were short the few remaining pieces that would finish my fence. I then agreed to pay him in good faith that the work would be completed promptly the following week once they received their next shipment (as James clearly indicated on my contract in his own writing and signed). Now (Sept 25th 2014), the work has still yet to be completed and I've officially received the following from James: In this 2 month period, James has made a promise on 5 separate occasions that the work will be completed on a given date. All 5 times he has failed to complete the project. He has told me in a 2 month span that the wood is perpetually on backorder despite also telling me that he's received the shipment (that contains my wood) 3 times as well. From my dealings with him, he cannot be trusted. I'd avoid dealing with him and his company if you have the chance. If you have to deal with him (as we did because of a new home build and neighbours contacting him to do the subdivision) then I'd strongly advise to ensure the work is completed 100% prior to giving him any payment as indicated in a few reviews now, he'll simply take the money and never look back. I highly encourage anyone with problems to file complaints with the Better Business Bureau of Central Ontario and the Ministry of Consumer Services. its the only way that customer service will ever improve. EDIT: June 6th 2015 Just a quick update on our situation. The fence was fully completed mere days after I opened the cases with BBB and the Ministry. It never should have had to come to that, but it did and its in the past now. Over the winter months, the fence post near the gate shifted (due to frost). James has since come and fixed that issue ensuring it is more secure. James did contact me, ensuring that they are focusing on bettering customer service now and in the future. I have no bad feelings towards him as I simply wanted the work completed (as it has now been) and wish him success in the future on their customer service side. Their actual workmanship, in regards to the fence itself, was great quality so if they improve on their weaker areas, they'll definitely be a solid company to choose for your project. Although things have been fully fixed/repaired, because of the initial circumstances, I feel that I must leave my original review/score intact.

In May, we along with five neighbours signed with Doing It All to have fencing installed. On May 26, they came by to dig the holes and install the fence posts. I called mid-June and DIA noted that they were waiting on the supplier for the fencing and that it should be about a week. They did not return until the first week of July to install the actual fencing. The install was done in a day for a half of the houses. I was not impressed seeing a staff member being lazy and tossing a fence component over the newly installed fence into the neighbouring yard and flattening the shrubbery. While the actual work was done 4/5, the lack of customer service and follow-up with the customer is disheartening. Unfortunately this contractor was found by one of the neighbours who apparently didn't do their homework on the contractor. Hopefully, it's not one of the last two homes who are still waiting for their fences to be installed. With the other negative reviews on this site, it's not surprising that DIA isn't claiming this page as their business and working to improve on customer service. If customer service is important to you, then go with another contractor who wants your business and will work for it. DIA is quick to take the deposit and quick to collect on payment, but otherwise not quick to do the work or contact you to address delays or concerns.

Not happy with James' work. Very low quality job with lots of mistakes and he never accepted to fix. I regret to had him to put fences for me. He doesn't respect his clients and is not friendly at all. His workers don't behave well. They work with loud music with annoys neighbors.

James doesn't return and finish the work. doesn't answer your phone calls after he's got your $$ that's it. The 1 good review must have been written by a family member + is fake. run in the other direction. take it from lots of us neighbours on the same street....

We had a fence installed with doing it all and was very happy with the end work. They had someone professionally mark were the poist had to go and paid $40 dollars for that service. Then they had someone drill the holes 12 inches in diameter .That was important to us because every other company only wanted to drill 10 inch for 4x4 posts. The fence looked great and only wamted the money on completion of work.

James got paid on the promise to come back and finish the gate. Never shows up again. Phoned him numerous times and the message is always...I will be there before the end of the day. Not recommended at all.
