    Residential exterior door

Save yourself some stress and headheck, don't go to this place. I was in a rush to get a door and end up calling door express, I have to say that the salesman was helpful but what I found out after is that he had no control over my order. It all started up by the door be ready in a week, great, I was thinking, 4 days after it become 2 weeks, 2 days after the salesman contacting saying that the company could not install the glazing in the door cause the didn't have the money to pay the supplier and he went on to say that door express are on the verge of bankruptcy, I end up picking a door that is too big for my need but after already paid half of my order I thought that would be better then losing my money, btw red flag should had been raise when they told me that they don't accept credit card nor debit card, money transfer only. Anyway, hope this review will spare you the unwanted experience.

    House renovation

Beware, this company has terrible customer service. As soon as the owner gets the job order, they treat you horribly. Empty promises, deadlines not met, order is not prepared, young staff running around aimlessly. Doors are not exactly what you have ordered.

    New back door.

Buyer beware! This company Door Express has an "F" rating with the Better Business Bureau and I got a taste of why. I ordered a Pre-hung fiberglass door at the beginning of July 2014 and was told it was in stock and they would have it cut to size and ready the following week. Two weeks later they phoned and said it was not in stock and they had to order it. Nine weeks and several phone calls later (none of which they returned) they called to say it was ready. When I went to pick it up I had to get them to change the substandard sill they had installed. If you are going to deal with this company be forewarned.

    Answer from pro:

We apologize for the delay on the doors as the composite jamb took awhile to get. We had to source the jamb from a vendor so we cannot be affiliated with the quality of product they give us.

    House

Everyone is nice until they get your down payment. We asked 6 times if their doors meet building codes and a week before promised delivery they confided they knew they did not. Doors were promised in 4 weeks it looked like 8 weeks only after we threatened to go to the better business bureau. Do yourself a favor and look them up on the BBB they have an "F" rating. In the end they pre drilled holes for the hardware that is not standard and only one company can supply. ?? Even if you request them not to pre drill. The owner is rude referring to us as "the poor family that needs their doors" very condescending! And yes we did need those doors to keep our son who is severely affected by autism. Really shocking they are still in business. We will not use them for our future townhouse, condo or any other projects.

New home exterior and interior door

Deal with them few years back, and glad to found a place to share a story of mine about this company. This company was first located in Vancouver near Marine drive, a small store. The first impression I got is, nice service, the owner actually came out and tell me something about their doors and special deal they are having. I told them we were building a new home and would like to order all the doors from them. First they got us some "great deal" exterior doors first which were just display in the shop. They told us it is some extra doors they got for over order for other customers, so we can have some deal from it. So far so good, until we starts getting the interior doors, Cracks from the pre-hung for some of the doors, even one of the mini closet doors, I told them about it because they said this is because they are custom made doors. Oh ok, for the accessories, they only provided the cheapest part for me, the double open closet door the top stopper was poorly installed and always hard to pull out and eventually pop out and went missing. The sliding door, the wheels I can't find replacement after 2 years use. I think they used some non-standard parts from else well, bought bulky cheap. Few of the solid wood door we ordered also have a curve in the middle, told them about it, but never get it handle. They asked us to pay everything before they ship out "all" the doors. while we expect all the doors, they ship only 80% of them and I need to go take 10% of the doors by myself in their new richmond store, the left 10%? because we stupidly enough to pay 100% and trust them. They never gave us, and FYI those door at least worth 2000 dollar because they are solid doors special orders, they said they lost them need to find them when they moving. we rush them for about 1 years, went to the stores many many times, all they told us is come back next time and they will have them. Of course I never got them, because i believe they sold them to someone else with "great deal". Right now I am building another home again, so i visited some new job sites and saw their doors and paper around, funny enough, same poor quality, cracks along the joints ,a very hard to open and close. The only thing I like about this company is the dog in store. Hope this will help for you guys, but at least I feel better to express my feeling and share with others.

    Door replacement

Used door express for replacing external side door. The price for the new door included inserting two glass panes and duplicating previous hinge and door knob positions. They matched perfectly. For me this was way easier then having to replace the door frame as well. They kept to the timetable and did not try to pry more money out of me once the job was completed. Owner Glen made recommendations on proper staining and even waited a good half hour after shop hours so I could get there for pickup. The door has completely changed the feel to the house in that hallway. Thanks for the good product followed by good service

    Frech Door

Priced out my exterior french doors with the major window companies. The only door that was close to acceptable cost 5000.00. I was hesitant to use Door Express due to some poor reviews. I received and installed my door today, what a dream. The door came perfectly wrapped, easily installed, and looks flawless. I feel like I got a great product for a great price.

    solid wood entry door

We found an exceptional assortment of beautiful solid wood doors not readily found elsewhere. The owner (Glen) went out of his way for us and was very accommodating. Totally delighted with the knowledgeable service, delivery and product quality. Recommend without hesitation.

    11 custom doors

The owner of door exress, was shameful when it came to customer service and fixing deficiencies. It has been months of evasive behaviour on his part and now he doesn't take our calls. All doors were not made with the specs they were given from the company they suggested we buy hardware from. So I am home with a 2 week old and my front door lock still does not work, none of the interior handles, locks etc fit the drill holes door ex made. The cost we paid to a contractor to try and remedy/patch a solution until The owner of Door Ex shows up is at the $1500 mark. Shockingly bad behaviour by a business, horrific lack of customer service, we are left wondering how HOW can a person like this even be in business...I suppose because of fools like us. We have photos of all the deficiencies should you wih visual aids to ensure you DO NOT do business with this outfit.
