    Inspect and repair residential boiler

After buying 1981 house, hired Butler to inspect boiler (baseboard heating). After initial inspection they made reasonable recommendations for good upkeep and fixing a few mistakes made by previous owner. They returned soon and made repairs quickly and effectively. Had them back to trouble shoot additional boiler issue (zone valve) and unrelated toilet issue. All work done quickly, professionally and effectively.

    Water Line Leak

I discovered a water leak through my basement sealing first thing in the morning and as soon as I called Butler Plumbing was given an appointment that day. Jeremy arrived exactly when he said he would and instantly went to locating the source of the leak. He suspected he had found it but needed to cut into a wall to confirm; he cut as small a space as possible behind the baseboard in order to confirm. Once he located the leak he went to work to quickly repair it and left all areas of his work exactly as he found them. He was done within 2 hours and was professional and polite the entire time. This is the third time Butler has worked in my home and I would not hesitate to recommend them or hire them again.

    Answer from pro:

Thank you so much for calling us again for you plumbing needs. And also the recommendation means a lot to us. Take care.

    removal of existing gas line

We wanted to clean up the look of the front yard of our 40 year old house. Originally a show home back in the day, it had a gas yard light. We hired Butler Plumbing to remove it. Their work was professional, quick and left us feeling safe about the former gas line. I would hire again for sure.

Thank you Patti. Glad to help. Have a great day.

    Leaking Cast Iron Pipe

Bryce came today, was polite and assessed cause of the water leaking onto the basement floor quickly as a crack in the cast iron pipe. He had it cut out and replaced with PVC within an hour. He placed things back to the way they were and took the 5 foot length of pipe with him so I didn't have to dispose of it. The price was fair and he worked quickly and efficiently. Thanks!

    special plumbing work

Had butler plumbing do special piping work to accomplish health requirements --Kevin, Paul , and Will suggested the method and Will and Paul followed through with the work. Will did most of the work and was fast and did all the items that I asked. I was very pleased with the work.

    Pipe Augering

Asked for augering (we moved into a new home and the toilets were flushing slowly - also the kitchen sink backs up when it drains a bit)- this was never done as the gentleman who came to my home did not deem it necessary (no scoping, no augering). He did scrape out some limescale from the inside of the toilet bowl and explained that when there is buildup, the toilets will flush more slowly. I was told to "keep an eye" on things and phone them in the future if we have a problem. Ultimately I was told that we would want new toilets sometime in the future. Some limescale was removed from the most hesitant flusher and later, after he left, I realized that the water had been running for hours. I followed the sound of running water to the toilet, lifted the top of the tank and couldn't believe it - it was like a fountain in there!. Inside the tank the chain that linked the flush mechanism to the inner plunger had come undone and the plunger had become unseated - the chain had dropped down into the pipe and hooked it's self on something I couldn't see. I managed to fix this issue myself in spite of not having a clue as to what the heck was going on. I phoned the fellow who had come out to the house twice, but of course, his day was done and there was no answer. I then left a message with the company requesting a call in the morning and a discount on the service as my water had been running for so long and I had to fix stuff after the serviceman left! -He phoned in the morning and apologized but took no accountability for what happened. I was told it was a coincidence and that the toilet had flushed fine before he left. I wonder if it would have flushed if the tank had still been full? The fellow who came out was very warm and personable , but truthfully, I feel like my husband should have been home to talk "man-to-man" with him and insist on getting the work that we had originally asked for done.

    Answer from pro:

Meghan, sorry you had less than awesome experience. The work and recommendations were all proper but we should have did one more check before leaving. I'm glad you got the chain fixed, but trust if you would have called we would have come back quickly to fix it. Again sorry for the hassle.

    Bathroom maintenance

I had had work done by Butler in a recent kitchen renovation and was very satisfied. I asked for them to change the toilet and clean the drains in our son's condo. There was a mixup in the order but they provided an upscale model at the agreed-upon price for the ordered one. Travis the service person was very good. His work was excellent, and he left everything clean and dry. I will use their services again.

Thanks for the review Marc. I appreciate the time you took.

We had moved into a new house and wanted the pipes scoped and the exterior pipe repaired (it had corroded through). Bryce from Butler Plumbing came, he was fast and professional, and we were satisfied with the work.

    Plugged toilet line

Basically was told over the phone I wuld have to wait a week for service. The next day, the situation got worse but it could have totally been avoided if I had spoke with a plumber instead of the dispatcher. $2000 in deductible later and a trashed basement, I would rather deal with a company that is willing to talk about my situastion over the phone so it doesn't get worse (which was the experience I had with the second company I called). In short, use a small company for a seemingly small problem. I think Butler are too big for the little guys.

    Answer from pro:

Chris, sorry about your experience. This is a very busy time of year for us and are booked pretty solid. We are trying our best to accommodate both existing and new customers. That being said we do have we do have and emergency service which hopefully was explained to you. We also have a general mailbox for questions which we usually answer within 24hrs. Sorry this one didn't work out.
