    Generator

    Captain Electric have done a great job for us on many projects including the recent installation of our generator. The quality of their work is top notch. Everything just works (unlike some other electricians we previously hired). They (i) keep their appointments, (ii) keep us regularly informed of the status of their work and (iii) keep the work site clean. Dave and Brian and the rest of the team are great to work with and very reliable. I would highly recommend Captain Electric.

    Installing Light Fixture

    We were delighted with Dan Pedersen and Captain Electric's services. After placing an enquiry at night we were contacted the next morning and offered an appointment on the same day. Dan was punctual, and took extra care to ensure that the fixture looked great. He and his colleague ensured the room was kept clean during and after their work. The price was reasonable. We would use Captain Electric for future work and highly recommend them.

    Replace main fuse panel-rewiring of reno project

    Our wiring was a mess. Done by amateurs and there were safety issues as well as functional issues. The panel was too small at 100 Amp so it was all replaced. Polite, courteous and efficient. I will be using them again. Thanks.

    Replacement of electrical panel

    We were thoroughly impressed with Captain Electric! We had some problems with a burning smell coming from our old fuse panel. Dan came early the next day on time and was able to give us an estimate of the cost to replace our panel as it was too old to repair. Diane called us regularly to update us on the timing and how the work was going. The work was completed in a timely manner and they did an awesome job! They left the the inside of our home looking spotless. Where they dug a hole outside, it was completely put back the way it was before. We were very pleased with the work they did and we will definitely use Captain Electric again in the future for any electrical jobs needed to be done.

    Basement rewiring and Panel replacement

    We had just bought our first home and within 30 days had a circuit in our panel burn through and melt the backing of the panel. The previous owner had connected the dishwasher to the circuit improperly and almost cost us a lot more than just a panel replacement. I found captain electric through an electric company in Toronto who highly recommended them to anyone in the Durham region. After speaking with Diane I knew this was the company I would chose. She was kind and thorough and answered all of my questions. My appointment was set and right as scheduled, Dan showed up in a fully equipped truck ready and willing to help. He was courteous and kind and above all honest. After an inspection, he determined the wiring in the basement, also done by the previous owner, was not good as well. He presented me with quotes regarding the work that needed to be done to bring the basement up to code and talked me through everything. He also fixed the connection for the dishwasher without charge so I could have it working in the meantime. There was absolutely no sales pressure or false advertising. He gave me the time to review the options and decide what I would like if anything. After going with one of the quotes, within 1 week Dan was back again as scheduled with 2 helpers and had everything done in amazing time. All 3 were super polite and made sure to clean up after their work. Also, instead of cutting through the drywall as planned, they took the entire portion off the wall so as to give me the option to reuse it during the next phase of my basement reconstruction. In the end, Dan did everything as he said he would as well as surprising me by adding an extra electrical for my deep freezer. I am much more than satisfied by the customer service and work provided by captain electric. It is very hard to sift through all of the companies listed on the internet and know that you have picked one that will not only do the job right, but also do it with honesty, integrity and good manners. I highly recommend this company to anyone. Especially those who know nothing about electrical work and need to rely on the honesty of the companies word.

    Electrical Home Inspection

    We called Captain Electric to come to our home and do a general home inspection of our electrical panel and outlets and investigate an intermittent buzzing in the panel. Dave came to our house exactly when he said he would be here - he was friendly, professional, courteous and extremely knowledgeable. He took the time to detail exactly what was needed and gave me a written quote on the spot. Dave made recommendations for panel upgrades and a surge protector. I thought Dave was an excellent electrician - he is someone who can be trusted and who knows his stuff. I would definitely recommend Captain Electric - this company is very easy to deal with, affordable and dependable. Even the ladies answering the phones demonstrate excellent customer service - this company knows how to meet and exceed customer expectations. They are amazing! If you have an electrical issue that needs attention, call Captain Electric, they treat people with respect, show up when they say they will, charge reasonable rates and care about their customers.

    Electric

    Being a first time user of Captain Electric I must say I was really impressed with the professional procedures. As promised I was called 15 mins. before Dave arrived. He familiarized me with the company's history and charges for different levels of service and proceeded to do the work.. 2 outdoor fixtures removed and new ones installed, outlet in garage fixed, 3 smoke detectors installed. Job completed. I have an issue with my automatic garage door opener and took the opportunity to ask Dave's opinion. He not only answered my questions he actually took the time to call the company and ask if I could get a part. He noticed a few problems in other areas an explained to me what I need to do. Nothing to do with Captain Electric, he was just being helpful. Dave is a true professional and gentleman and I'm happy I made the call to Captain Electric.

    Peplace Kitchen over counter lights

    We got Captain Electric from the Home Stars website and called them. They were very polite and accommodating on the phone and told us Enricho would come and give us a firm estimate on the work we wanted done. He arrived with a coop student. Both were very polite and courteous. Enrico talked to us then he took measurements and gave us a firm estimate of the cost. He told us he would get the materials and the office would be in touch as to date and time. They called the next day and said he would be here in a week in the morning to do the work. He arrived with an apprentice Zak and they finished the work very satisfactorily. They left the place clean and took all materials with them. We are very satisfied with the work and would recommend Captain Electric to anyone and would certainly use the again.

    surge protection

    Service prompt. Very courteous and friendly. He was able to provide service in a short time. He gave a full explanation of the work that he did for me and explained what I monitor from the equipment that he installed..I would recommend this company to anyone. I know that I will call them should I need the services of an electrician.

    Install over-the-range microwave & add outlets

    Last summer, Captain Electric installed my over-the-range microwave along with its required separate circuit, and they also added a new wall outlet in my basement. They arrived on time and were very pleasant and thorough in preparing and explaining their estimate. When they realized the microwave installation would require 2 men, they right away called in another technician and finished the job that day. They definitely conveyed the impression that they were very knowledgeable and made me feel comfortable that their work was in accordance with safety guidelines. I would highly recommend them and will use them again in future.
