Our new dining room light had been in its box for seven months waiting to get to the top of my husband's to do list. I called a local electrician to come and give us a quote three weeks ago and after he visited our house told us he would call and setup a date to install. He never called. I found Java Electric on the web through HomeStars and sent them an email on Sunday afternoon. That same evening Pavel called and after discussing the installation let me know they could fit us in during the time we had available, Tuesday evening. True to their word, Pavel and Antonio (the owner) came buy on time and immediately went to work. When was the last time you had an electrical contractor put down cloths to protect your floors/furniture against any type of debris from drilling in the ceiling? Well Java does. Within a short period of time the light was up, any evidence they were there was cleaned up. My husband and I were truly impressed with: their attention to detail; patience in explaining how the light would be attached to the ceiling (we couldn't figure out how to hang one of the ceiling attachments for the light and neither could Union Electric where the light came from); friendliness and fair pricing. It really is a pleasure to write this review for a contractor that actually "delighted the customer", its been a long time since that's happened to us. We highly recommend this company for your next electrical project.

If you are looking for a skilled tradesman, with top notch service and care for his work and reputation, Antonio from Java Electric is the guy. Initially I called and emailed one of the other highly ranked electricians on this site and luckily for me they didn't get back to me quickly so I contacted Antonio and he got the job done. I am glad I did. I had a breaker trip in one of my bedrooms and couldn't get it to reset. I unplugged everything and still couldn't reset so I feared a short was happening somewhere. After Antonio got in touch with me, he was at my house within 3 hours. He addressed the issue immediately and throughout the whole process explained exactly what he was doing and why. After removing and checking about 10 receptacles he discovered the bare piece of wire that was causing the problem. He was in and out within an hour (he also fixed a broken wire in one of my switches). He and Loreano worked fast and efficiently and were absolutely professional. Having just had a horrendous experience with a large plumbing contractor early in the day, it was a pleasure to speak to Antonio and see how he works. He's the kind of guy you feel happy to have in your house because he cares about fixing the problem and making the customer happy. Antonio takes great pride in his work and his company and deserves all the accolades he gets. Mine was a very small job, but the fact that he came right away, got the job done in an hour and all at an extremely reasonable price (for 2 people) it was amazing. Others would have probably ignored me in favour of bigger jobs that would have netted more $$. I would have paid him twice what he charged because I know he was honest, fair and highly skilled. If only all contractors had the same work ethic and pride as Antonio we'd never have to worry. Thanks Antonio !

They did their best to install our chandelier. Very knowledgeable, creative,helpful, caring and honest. I was very pleased by their professional services. I highly recommend them. and also very reasonable pricing.

I moved into my new house about a year ago, and there was a lot of electrical/wiring related issues that I wanted completed. Antonio and his team came a few weeks ago and did truly exceptional work. I like to think that I can tell a lot about people when I talk to them. When I first talked to Antonio, my first impression of him was that he is an honest guy – and I think this is really important when someone does work on your house. He explained the work to me clearly and gave me a very competitive quote, which was honoured when the work was completed. All the guys that came from Java Electric to do the work were great people. They took a lot of care in doing the jobs properly and cleanly. In particular, I was impressed with the routing of the RG6 and Cat5e cabling into my office on the 2nd floor from the basement. When I discussed this particular job with a couple of other companies, they essentially said to me that there might be some drywall damage on my ground floor to do this job. The guys at Java managed to do this without any damage to my wall, even though it probably took them a little bit of extra time. Now, I am not saying that the other companies wouldn't have been able to do it or didn't know how to do it – they just didn't want to take that extra time to do the job properly given the quoted time/price. I think this a good example of how much care and effort the guys at Java put into the job to do it properly. It's not easy to find a company like Java – a company that does great work at a reasonable price. These guys are honest, works hard, and are overall great people. Highly recommended!

Antonio and the people on his team, especially Laureano, did a great job re-wiring my kitchen during a reno. He went above and beyond throughout the project and really worked hard to find solutions when required. My project included some complicated LED undercabinet lighting that I wanted to be dimmable with a particular type of dimmer. This required literally hours of trouble-shooting to work properly. He was on time and on budget. His service was prompt and his team was polite and conscientious. I recommend him highly and would use him again.

I had Antonio and Laureano come to my home today and install 4 potlights (with a magnetic dimmer) and kitchen under-cabinet lighting as well. Before I even get into how today went, I just want to say that Antonio actually came to my home a few weeks ago to quote on the work to be done and spent over an hour with me reviewing the various jobs I needed him to do. Considering many contractors (including some other contractors on Homestars) either won't call you back or give you quick and incomplete quotes over the phone, I could see very quickly that Antonio was a very different contractor. Needless to say, I gave him the work. I can tell you that I was not disappointed. Antonio is as fine a contractor as I've ever dealt with. Antonio and Laureano arrived on time this morning (in a snow storm), they put drop sheets down everywhere and very quickly began with the potlights. This is where their patience comes into play. I have a bit of an awkward hallway for Potlight installation so my wife and I were having trouble finding a spot that we liked the lights. Antonio tried all of our suggestions with different combinations, and only started installing the lights once he saw we were completely comfortable with the location. Great patience to be sure. After we figured out the positioning, he installed the lights easily and with no mess at all. From there, they moved onto the undercabinet lighting. Again, together these two gentleman found the most cost effective and time effective method to install the lighting. As with the potlights, there was absolutely no mess at all and they made sure to clean up any wiring, accessories, etc. before they left. Overall, everything looks great and the job was right on budget. I will be having Java come by for more work in the next month or so. I highly recommend Java for your electrical needs. Antonio and his crew installed 5 pot lights in our living room in 3.5 hours at a cost to me of $150 per light before HST. The work was done well and rapidly. The crew was friendly and careful. Antonio is a lovely man who wants you to love the new lights you are getting. He goes out of his way to make sure that you are satisfied. I have no hesitation in recommending Antonio and Java Electric to anyone. In fact, I have already told my daughter and son-in-law about him and recommended that Antonio be used for lighting and any other electrical work in the home that they are renovating.

I called out Antonio based on reviews from HomeStars and wasn't disappointed. He was here exactly on time the next day, was friendly, informative and quick, and got the job done with zero fuss for a very reasonable rate. Having been burned by a number of cowboys in the past, this was a breath of fresh air. Couldn't recommend highly enough.

I had some electrical work done on my house, pulling out some old knob and tube, add a few extra receptacles and cleaning up some other poorly wired stuff. Antonio was excellent with all of this, and he really went above and beyond. Knowing that I had a young child at home, he installed tamper proof receptacles without even asking, he cleaned a number of unsafe connections from the previous owner, installed an extra pot light, and pulled out a bunch of knob and tube to ensure everything was safe. With all this he still honoured his quote to the penny. Great electrician and an honest straight shooter. There's not too many contractors around as trust-worthy as this guy. I've already recommended him to friends.

Pavel & Joe installed our OTR Microwave, an exterior vent, and did all of the necessary electrical work. They were friendly, hard working, and effective. They made sure to clean up when they were finished were very reasonable in their rates. I would definitely hire them again!
