    Pot Lights / Light Fixtures

Antonio and his crew were professionals. Curtious and took pride in their work. The first thing they did was roll out their drop cloths, I was impressed. Antonio is very bussy, but well worth the wait.

Knob and tubes rewiring and panel update

I got Antonio and his crew to rewire my whole house, remove all the knobs and tubes and upgrade my panel from 60 to 100 amps. The price he quoted seemed reasonable and the work they did was impeccable. I was worried about the amount of damage they would do to the walls since my house is over 60 years old and the walls are plaster. They did very few holes and did a very good job patching them. They showed up on time and worked till 7pm every day. They cleaned everything every day before they left and made sure I had electricity and light at all time. They were very polite and provided great advise on where to put plugs and switches. They were very attentive to avoid any inconveniences. I wished all my experiences with contractors went this smoothly. I would strongly recommend Java Electric. Thanks again Antonio.

Electrical - removal of knob and tube wiring

I have an century home (built in 1895) that needed a lot of rewiring. While some work, including the electrical panel, had been completed, the most difficult work remained. Because most of my walls are plaster, I didn't wan't to have too many holes made, as it would be very dusty and the patching a nightmare. However, I had a lot of knob and tube to be replaced, and new ceiling fixtures to be added. Because I knew this was going to be an expensive job, I had several quotes done. Most of the quotes were local (I live in Hamilton), but because Java's reviews were so glowing, I thought I should call to see if they would provide services in my area. Antonio came by for a quote, which was impressive for the pricing (which was pretty much in the middle, despite the travel). More importantly, I felt very comfortable with Antonio. His honesty and professionalism was very apparent. And, unlike many of the other electricians, Antonio was able to reassure me that his staff would be able to fish the wiring through the walls with minimal damage, and any holes made would be patched. True to his word, his staff did a wonderful job. They were punctual and professional, and cleaned up everyday. They did the wiring, and also installed smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. They were very accommodating about adding extra outlets when asked, and Antonio arranged for an electrical inspection once the work was completed. They clearly take pride in their work, which was impeccable. Probably one of the best tests of a company is how they react when things don't go according to plan. There was a small accident with a glass being broken (it was fragile and very easy to break), and Java took full responsibility - not only did they offer to pay for the repair right away, but Antonio also researched where I could go to minimize the work I had to do. We were very impressed with how they dealt with this. It's now been a few months when Java completed the work, and I still couldn't be happier. Java Electrical is very busy, but definitely worth the wait! Book them if you can!

    Potlight installation

Antonio and his crew were extremely professional, skilled, good-humoured and very reasonably priced. Antonio installed 4 potlights for us. Since there was no power source in that location, they had to bring a new connection from the main box in the basement. They took the time to bring that connection without making any holes in the wall or floor. It was like magic. Antonio also took the time to make sure that the potlights were placed in the best position for the room, taking into account various considerations that we would never have thought of. We had originally wanted 6 potlights but because the edge of the ceiling was directly under a sloping roof, it could have been unsafe to place the potlights close to insulation (specialized potlights are needed for that). Antonio explained all of this to us and we really appreciated his honestly and patience. Even with the 4 potlights it was so bright (we use the dimmer to adjust as needed). Antonio uses Contrast Pot-Lighting which is Canadian-made - something that we liked. Antonio also installed a chandeleir into a better location for us without charge, which was very generous of him. All in all, we cannot say enough great things about Antonio and his crew. I have already told my friends that if they need a licensed master electrician, they should call Antonio from Java Electric because he is expert in what he does, is a lovely person and will charge a very fair price. (This is the first time I have whole-heartedly recommended any tradesperson to my friends). We love our new potlights and the chandeleir. Thank you so much Antonio for everything. Oh yes, and I must add that the crew were extremely punctual and left everything super clean!

    Answer from pro:

Thank you very much for your review and the very honest and whole-heartedly recommendation. Wish you all the best and hope that you are enjoying your potlights.

    kitchen lighting

I used Java Electric to fix our under cabinet kitchen lighting as well as hanging a lamp in the living room. They arrived on time, worked very efficiently and had the whole work done in an hour. I found them to be very proessional and reasonable in price as well. I would definitely use them again.

    Electrical Work

I took down a ceiling fan in a spare bedroom that had an extra power wire so that the fan would work when the light was turned off. I had trouble putting a new light up. My wife first called a well known "on tv" electrical company that we had used previously. They said it would take at least 5 hours and with old homes you would probably have to rewire the whole house.....We called Java they came and changed it along with another fan and grounded 3 plugs in an hour and half. Java was quick, knowledgable, professional and gave a much more realistic estimate. As other reviewers have mentioned, if you are interested in electrical work he doesn't mind you watching and telling you what he is doing.
