I found Luc's Roofing back in the 1990's, after I bought my 1907 era house in downtown Toronto. They did an excellent job then, and they have been there for me ever since. Luc and his son Ben are straight-up, honest, wthout BS, and they get the job done professionally, cleanly (no bits and pieces left on the ground) and quickly. I have recommended them to neighbours since the 1990's, and I think that at least 8-10 houses down the street have been done by Luc's since, and are happy with the results. I agree with all the positives in the other reviews I have read on this site. Not the cheapest (don't go there), and not the most expensive. I recommend these guys highly.

These guys are pros - nothing to complain about. I wish more contractors were like this - thorough, exacting, efficient, knowledgeable and friendly. Ben took excellent care of us throughout the process.

These guys are phenomenal - I don't even know where to start. Ben, Luc's son, came to quote the job. Most roofers would just stand and eyeball the roof from a comfortable vantage point. Ben's line is: "do you mind if I put a ladder up?" Within SECONDS, he'll perched on the highest point of your house like an eagle to get a good, bird's eye view of the situation! In fact, his descriptions of the issues, work to be performed and approach were so precise and insightful, I decided to hire him on the spot. The job was highly complex - all kinds of corners, angles, walls, dimensions, skylights, railings and very few drains, necessitating precision sloping to ensure the roof drained properly. (After the job, Ben confessed it was one of the toughest roofs his team had tackled in YEARS!) So how did it go? Well, Ben knew I wanted to get going and found a way to slot me in a week earlier than expected. The crew arrived in a sparkling clean truck loaded with carefully organized supplies. Unlike the previous roofer that had been arguing with each other all day, these guys worked silently and steadily. The only sounds were of a precision roof being built. All the seams fit together beautifully ... the sloping was exact ... the capping immaculate. Deficiencies in past roofs were found, communicated and corrected without issue. Ben would pop by several times a day like a skilled project manager to monitor progress, keep me abreast of what they were seeing and checking my preferences on how they were addressing the issues. I can honestly say I was never in the dark about what was going on. Ben jokingly mentioned that his guys knew enough in carpentry to build an entire house. After seeing the roofing, I believe it! So how did it turn out? Well, after heavy rainfall, there is basically NO WATER left on the roof -- it all drains out with near perfection. In terms of the price, I think Luc's is good value. Not the cheapest, not the most expensive. But for a mid-range price, you get top-class work. These guys are straight shooters, and inform you upfront on the quote what's fixed and where there may be some variation based on issues they anticipate. Overall a fantastic experience. No regrets ... excellent work. No hesitation to recommend. I wish more contractors were like this!

We have just had our flat-roof done by Luc’s roofing, and are extremely impressed with the quality of work and the professionalism of Luc & his team. We appreciate the time that Luc took to explain what needed to be done, and how up-front he was about circumstances that could cause changes to the cost. As it was, when they tore apart our old roof, they discovered that we had absolutely no insulation up there. They managed to adjust their plan to give us excellent coverage, without changing the cost to us very much at all. The change in the temperature at our house has been immediate! Our 2nd floor used to be unbearably HOT in summer, and it would take the Air-conditioning hours to cool it down. Now, even on the hottest of summer days it stays comfortable. We’re even looking forward to winter, so we can see what a difference there is then, too!

Having had recurring problems with both of my flat roofs over each of the last three years on my complicated downtown home, I needed to find a roofer with much more than your average skill and problem solving capabilities. Just getting to the parts of my tree covered, very tall house was enough to scare a few away! I have had more than 6 inspections and quotes over that time with very different assessments and price. Ben in first inspecting my roof was looking forward to the many challenges. Luc's roofing provided very detailed descriptions of the methods to be used throughout my job which was longer than the average roof replacement. Luc's quote was fair and competitive for the suggested work and final product. The quote was as well accurate and detailed properly. Luc’s roofing are simply awesome start to finish. Luc's team blast out of the truck each day, work very hard all day and apply great skill with attention to detail. This team works very hard to improve your home, communicate all the way and disappear once they’re done.

First things's first - Ben was fabulous to deal with. He was excellent at explaining the work that needed to be done and was very prompt at getting back to me by phone and email. Dealing with Ben made the headache of needing a new roof less stressful. This is a company that really cares about the quality of the work they do. Ben did an emergency repair for us at the last minute on a Friday, knowing that the weekend forecast called for intense rain. The actual roofing job got pushed back a bit because of weather, but that was understandable. The roof was replaced within 2 days. The cedar siding took longer than expected, but this is only because Roman is a meticulous artist with regard to cutting and placing the cedar pieces. He even took the time to make changes when I noted that I was not fond of the checkered pattern the different colours of cedar were making on a small part of the fronting. The crew was also quite good about keeping the area tidy during the work, and about cleaning our property afterwards. I have already recommended Luc's Roofing to a friend, and will continue to recommend them to others without reservation.

Unlike some of the other roofing companies who came to quote, Luc took the time to inspect my roof thoroughly before quoting. His crew was polite, professional and respectful of my property and the neighbours. They completed the work in a timely manner and left the place cleaner than how they found it. Perhaps most importantly, Luc did not try to sell me anything that wouldn't be of benefit to me.

Luc's roofing was recommended by neighbors and I met with the owner for a quote on a job that two previous companies had not been able to remedy. They fixed the unfixable and were everything you would want in a roofer. So when it came time to replace the entire roof I felt confident using Luc's. They also provided us with the name of a contractor who turned out to be just as reliable as they were to redesign the front of our house. They worked very well as a team and while we were travelling they redid the roof and their assciates redid the front our house. I totally trust this firm and would recommend them highly to anyone wanting a fairly priced honest and skilled roofer.

I found Luc's through Homestars and I am very happy with the quality of the work that Luc and his crew did. They arrived on schedule, were pleasant to deal with and cleaned up everything. The price was very competitive with other quotes. I am happy to recommend Luc's.

We had water dripping in our bedroom due to damaged shingles on our roof. Ben from Luc’s roofing came by to provide an estimate for replacing our roof. He provided an estimate that was in line with other roofing companies, but more importantly he looked at our roof and confirmed what we already believed, the shingles did not need replacement yet. He told us that he could replace the damaged shingles as well as do some cocking of nails that were visible as it wasn't necessary to do the entire roof at this time. As new home owners this was music to our ears. Ben emailed me pictures before and after of the repairs and also mentioned that while he was working on the repairs he noticed that the chimney needed cocking so he did that too! And finally, after all the rain we had a couple weeks later he emailed me to check in and confirm that there was no additional water damage occurring. We really appreciate Ben's honesty and good work. Luc's roofing did a great job and saved us money!
