We are so happy that we chose to work with Reiner! I met with Reiner before the Winter Holidays for a one hour free consultation, and knew he was going to get our project off and running. We had been interviewing with architects and contractors for the better part of 6 months, and were stuck. We had ideas and quotes, but needed to feel we had someone on our side. Some of the reasons we highly recommend working with Reiner: - he has great ideas, knows the permit system, building techniques, and many people in the industry - everyone he brought in and we decided to hire were honest, hard working people - he was a second set of eyes to see possibilities in our space, and gave alternative ideas to any opportunities/challenges that arose throughout construction - although we were very happy with the people we chose to hire, he advocated for us when needed - he checked in with us to see that we had any questions, and checked in regularly on our house (as we were not living on site) - when we needed to talk to him in an "emergency", he was quick to respond (On a Saturday visit, and a problem discovered, he was at the house looking at it, and solving the problem with 2 hours) - he is eco-minded, drives a smart car, and his own house is called a "passive house" - ask him about this! Reiner made our renovation happen. There were times over the course of our project, that I don't know what we would have done without him. He kept everything going - if we had been alone - we would have been lost. Thank you Reiner for working with us from beginning to end. We are so happy with the "new" home that has been created for our family.

Reiner managed our budget planning, sourced excellent contractors, addressed issues instantly, advised contractors for problem solving and helped us pull off a hitch-free basement dig out, underpinning, and renovation to create a high rent basement apt. Totally amazing and a serious douse of 'peace of mind'. Could not ask for better. It was the best money I spent out of the whole $200,000 reno.

Looking back, the best decision we made was in hiring Reiner. He guided us through every phase of our home addition/kitchen renovation – from the idea, through the planning and permitting bureaucracy, selecting the builder and designing a sound contract, to building and completion. He saved us thousands of dollars – bringing us in under budget, ahead of schedule and most importantly, ensuring everything was built to his very high standards. Reiner has an encyclopedic knowledge of building and renovation. He’s incredibly honest and forthright, and went far above and beyond to ensure our best interests were served. Using Reiner, (The Reno Coach) was the best money we spent on our home renovation. Reiner walked us through the renovation process, helped us get drawings, permits, product referrals, ensured we were on the right track and was an honest and very knowledgeable third party to liaise with our general contractor. We were very confident in signing contracts that Reiner helped with to ensure our best interests were met. Reiner completed site visits and ensured the work and materials we paid for were in fact being used and the work was completed correctly. We hired Reiner to assist us with rebuilding our garage and later our deck. I describe Reiner's service to my friends as being the "wedding planner of contracting". Reiner's 30+ years in contracting his given him many contacts. He makes the contracting process easy. He gives you very helpful advice, provides you with quotes from builders he trusts, and he ensures that the builders stay on track and finish their projects to your, and his, satisfaction. We have been very pleased with the outcome of both of our projects and would highly recommend Reiner's services. While his services are an additional cost over an above your project, I would not start a construction project without his assistance. His minimal fee (relative to the rest of a project) is by far the best money you will spend on your project. Reiner is also extremely reliable and dependable.

The Reno Coach provided me with excellent contractors to complete my renovation. Everything was done ahead of schedule and very well done. Highly recommended! If you are planning a major reno, contact the reno coach first.

I am not a person to normally write reviews but I fully recommend The Reno Coach. Reiner helped with a basement reno in 2010 and when we decided to gut the place earlier this year there was no question that The Reno Coach would play a major role. In the early stages he helped us with timelines and costs, recommendations for an architect and designer and started the bidding process with the contractors. The contractors rely on Reiner for future work so he has leverage with them. This gets a great price and a solid contract. Once the project is underway he keeps things on track and picks up deficencies. When a sub-contractor used inferior insulating foam Reiner caught this and it was removed (from the whole house) and replaced. I would not have known the difference (the project manager didn't catch this either). I can see if a something looks straight but (like most people) do not know the building code, industry standards, new technologies, safety regulations, etc. The is Reiner's world and he coaches you through it. We just moved back in and are thrilled with the result.

We hired Reiner to help us with various projects around the house that were do for some work. (roof repair, humidifier, front porch and insulation work). He is very experienced and can save you a lot of time and money by providing his input on what needs to be done and providing contractors for the job. We saved a lot of time by not having to meet with contractors separately and negotiating back and forth on the fees. He was able to supply us with good, reliable and professional contractors ; and at a reasonable price. You can also be sure that the contractors won't be ripping you off. I not only would recommend Reiner to my closest friends, but I already have recommended him to numerous people. What he does is brilliant and there is a high need for a Reno Coach in this industry. To bridge the home owners and contractors and avoid a lot of the hassles and headaches that can result in most renovations.

Outstanding service, extremely competent, and a true professional from planning, getting permits, troubleshooting, advice to finishing. We did an addition attic where the roof was removed and also upgraded the kitchen. Reiner is always there for you and answers all concerns/questions in no time. Most important he ensures the jobs of the subcontractors are done properly. If not he will have the jobs redone. He is well connected and able to provide the appropriate expertise for any jobs. He has great advice and is up to date with the latest materials in construction. We had done some previous renovations and I wish there were more professionals like Reiner. His expertise is to fix the mess other contractors have done. I certainly recommend Reiner for new and messed up renovations.
