Rocco designed, with our input, a legal basement apartment. Several features of our experience with Rocco stood out: exceptional speed, commitment to the job, and professional knowledge. Speed: measurements Dec 12, drawings completed Dec 19, city received Dec 31, permit granted Jan 2. Commitment: willing to make small revisions without charge, working close to holidays, available by phone to answer questions and explain project details (even long after the job was completed) Professional: knows the code and helped create work-arounds to minimize project cost, correct in interpretation of certain project intricacies that city later confirmed with me when I tried to receive exception to these intricacies. While Rocco at times seemed impatient with me (granted-I ask many questions) he was still committed to listening, meeting the needs of the project, having strict attention to detail and specs, and being open to input about the design. His rate was cheaper than other designers that were referred to me and he did a great job. His plans included plenty of details to assist in construction, and he submitted the plans for me for a fee (which flew through permitting). Excellent value and competency.

If I can describe Rocco: - straight forward - fast - got the job done - got me a piece of mind I will use him again for my next projects.

Exceptionally quick turnaround, approachable and professional. This is the second time I work with Rocco and his team. In both occasions we got drawings and obtained permits within days. Their experience with the City is immensely valuable as this is a key success factor for any project.

I found Rocco on HomeStars and was more than pleasantly surprised by his efficiency and professionalism in assisting us with plans to remove three walls of which two were load bearing. Our home is a typical 90 year old north Toronto home which we wanted to make more open. Rocco and his team finished and submitted the plans for a building permit within a week. We received our building permit within a week of submission. Rocco was very responsive and quick to return emails. I would not hesitate to refer Rocco. Our renovations are almost complete.

30 words is not enough to express my thanks to Rocco & Mila for the hoops they jumped on our recent renovation. Exactly one week ago the city came by and said our job needed a permit) - when I thought it did not. I called Mila in a panic, as with 2 kids under 4, living in a one bedroom rental I could not afford major delays on the project. Rocco worked all weekend and with the aid of his team filed our permits on Wed. Less than one week later and I just printed them out! I have never been happier with the thoughtfulness and speed not too mentioned the detail he has brought to our renovation. This is our forever home and Rocco & Mila have made it possible in a safe and loving manner.

I contacted Rocco after having no luck finding someone through friends/word of mouth. I'm so glad I did, he was prompt with emails and made an onsite visit with 2 days. Within a week or so we had drawings finalized for our small project and permits by the week after that. Rocco and his team communicated very well through the entire process and I appreciated his additional knowledge about design and construction that will hopefully make the rest of our renovations run smoothly.

Rocco and his team is very professional to delivered architectural drawing, submitted building permits for building 2-storey addition in Etobicoke area. Before selecting we did our due diligence and selected Rocco for this job. Rocco did answer his phone even he was out of country and discuss details of the project. Rocco and his team did all leg work to get approval from COA, building permit. Answer any given questions for the building permits and follow up with City on the permit progress. Rocco and Morteza were attentive, responsive and informative as we shaped and designed our addition. Rocco and Morteza were always on the ball keeping us informed of their progress. We would highly recommend Rocco and Morteza for anyone interested in architectural design services. Even after the project was finalized Rocco and his team did accommodate us to revise the plans and answer questions regarding building plans and details. I would highly recommend Rocco and his team for architectural needs.

The city served me with an order to comply for a deck that was built before I acquired my property. I dealt with a few people supplied by title insurance and they were lethargic and inefficient. I haven't been happy with professionals at Homestars but in a desperate effort decided to use the site. I saw the reviews for this company and contacted Rocco, the architect. What I liked about Rocco: 1. He immediately understood my needs and knew what was needed and who he needed to contact at the city. Anyone who's had to deal with the city knows that this is an incredible asset! 2. He was very professional. He arrived, on time, and did a thorough walk through of the project, providing feedback and demonstrating a vast amount of knowledge 3. He was very swift and efficient. Within a couple of weeks of consultation the plans were submitted to the city! An issue that had dragged on for 2 years was addressed and completed in under 4 months! As things moved with the city there were no delays and/or excuses on Rocco's part. Having been through a difficult process with the previous professionals I, naturally, hovered. He insisted that I leave him to manage his part. I did and he delivered. The services Rocco completed were: * Drawing plans and submitting to the city * Producing plans for Committee of Adjustments and filing the application (I represented myself) * Liaising with the city in all matters and communicating that information to me I would, most definitely, hire Rocco in the future

I contacted Rocco to provide drawings and secure a permit after reviewing the other Homestars reviews and searching his site. He was very attentive to my questions even though he was supposed to be out of office. The city was short staffed but he escalated it and the permits were issued within two weeks. His office dealt with any questions from the city so that I didn't have to try and navigate that. Well worth it to have it done through Architalcan.
