We had Paul come in to replace eight joists in our hundred year old house. He came by to look at our house the same day I contacted him through Homestars and had a quote ready the next day. Not only was the quote reasonable, Paul also made efforts to work around our schedule as he knew we were on a tight timeline. He coordinated with our structural engineer to iron out some details and make sure everybody was on the same page. Paul was knowledgeable, efficient and thorough. He came in to do the job when he said he would, cleaned up everyday before he left, finished on time, and did an exceptional job. Thanks PTR for making what seemed like a difficult job easy and worry-free! I am not surprised Paul and PTR Carpentry won the Best of HomeStars in 2010 - definitely well deserved!

First of all, I'd like to thank Homestars for providing a place where I can find the best contractors via "word of mouth". I've found a good painter and now a great framer from this site. Many t I asked Paul to come to my house to finish some framing that was not completely done by a previous contractor. This is an especially important job because the house is over a hundred years old and will be used as a commercial property. Therefore, everything has to meet or exceed building code. As I found out, the previous contractor did not even use the right type of material, nor did he do the job properly. Paul fixed all the deficiencies. I found Paul to be honest and hardworking. There's a reason why he continues to have a "10" rating. As a health care provider, I'd recommend Paul as your framing doctor;)

Paul the one man show of PTR did an excellent job repairing the poor build quality of my 15 year old home. The joists carrying the second floor master bedroom terminated into a steel beam and many had cracked due to sloppy notching by the original carpenter. My feeling was they needed replacement. Paul had no trouble with removing my subfloor, partition wall and the questionable joists and then expertly and precisely reconstructing the second story joists, subfloor and walls. The build quality of Paul's repair is dead on - It's plumb, level, square and very strong. Paul's pricing was very good and his expertise allowed him to work this job in a quick and efficient manner. Paul's eye for detail noticed the steel beam had settled and he raised the beam back to it's original position. Paul was here at the time he indicated he would be and on the days he had booked. I am thoroughly pleased and would recommend Paul - PTR to anyone and look forward to Paul helping finish my home renovation. Many thanks Paul from myself and the whole family!! Dave

Paul and his helper Martin just completed framing our basement. Paul's workmanship exceeded our expectations. Paul and Martin are very friendly, professional and punctual. Paul went over and beyond what some other contractors would have done.He communicated with us at all times, made suggestions,and even SAVED us money on material.He truly cares about his customers.Paul is a true tradesman, very highly recommend. Paul was a gentleman from the start of our first meeting to the end of the project. He gave me a fair price for my deck, and he assured it was fair through his exceptional workmanship and quality of the finished product. I would definitely recommend Paul and use him for future projects.

Paul and his young helper have just completed dismantling and then rebuilding a large wrap-around deck and a balcony deck for us. We are pleased with the result. Personally,we found Paul to be respectful,honest and accommodating - and eternally cheerful on even the nastiest days in December. Professionally,he gave what we felt was a responsible and professional estimate for the job; he consulted with us, accommodated our concerns and time-line and worked fast and efficiently. Paul built our out building (bunkie), veranda and our lake side deck. All of his work was first rate and completed within the time frame Paul stated. His pricing of the jobs were within the quotes he provided. Paul was able to also provide us with design suggestions on the builds which made the finished products better than we could have hoped for. My wife and I strongly recommend PTR Carpentry.
