We found Paul's name from Homestars with excellent reviews. Paul was quick to respond with a visit and quote. He arrived on site with his crew at the time and date promised. His team's work was excellent and the inspector was quick to close out the project file. PTR were courteous, professional and they left the site spotless. I contacted Paul about framing my basement. He showed up the next day for a quote and we were on the way. He was very knowledgeable and had many good ideas. We even had him move a wall after it was completed with no problems. Paul and his crew of 3 were very polite and clean which was a big thing for me. Definitely a true professional. We hired PTR Carpentry to build a front porch and complete a revision of a flat roof into a sloped roof. Paul and his crew did an amazing job and we couldn’t be happier with the finished product. The attention to detail and quality of work are exemplary. Paul made the entire project stress free from beginning to end. Great communication, suggestions and professional advice on every detail related to the project. Paul took the time to implement last minute changes to deliver our dream vaulted gable. All Building Code requirements were met and all levels of inspections passed with flying colours. I am so happy and grateful I've found Paul and his guys for my house construction!! Aside of being extremely professional, patient and loyal, their workmanship is beyond excellent! Paul and his team have built my dream house /2000 sqf addition this summer. The result is amazing, the process was fun. From the start Paul looked thru my 'pre-permit' Blue Prints and made some valuable structural comments well accepted by the Project structural engineer. Paul coordinated all material delivery which made whole framing part of the project an easy and enjoyable time for me. It is very exciting to get back from office every night and see the house becoming a reality in a matter of days. Great communication, we had things cleared quickly by texting. The team took great care of my existing house protecting it from rain at all stages of framing until the roof got watertight. Other trades/estimators were leaving very positive comments about high quality of my framing. Dream house was framed, no mess left after, all promises kept :-) Top notch pros. I was very, very impressed. Paul was competitively priced and really knows his stuff. We created a 60" entry way between our kitchen and family room. It really opened up the space and looks great. You never know what you'll find when you open it up. We encountered ductwork, electrical and plumbing. Paul knew exactly what to do structurally and made the opening as large as possible given the constraints in the wall. It was done quickly and everything was closed off during the work to keep things clean. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend him (already have).

I engaged PTR Carpentry to design and construct an addition to my deck. It was a very complicated addition, involving 3 sets of stairs and 2 landings. Paul, the owner of PTR, and his assistant did an absolutely fantastic job. They sank footings, and designed and built the addition on top of those footings. I can't say enough about the excellence of their work! In addition, they left the jobsite in immaculate condition. If you need any carpentry work done, PTR Carpentry is THE company to contact.

I can't thank Paul and the crew enough they framed my new home to a level where both my Architects and engineers commented on the excellent work. Paul always dealt with the issue and told me about the solution after he contacted inspectors architects without prompting - No stress minimal decisions - he just made it perfect. If you're framing a new home or renovating don't think twice this crew is the real deal - polite, professional and clean. Says what he is going to do and does it but goes beyond! Paul and his crew removed our roof and put a third floor on our 90 year old semi-detached home in downtown. The work involved a dusty removal of over 4" of flat roof and build up of the new structure, walls and roof. Paul and his team was incredible. His communication was great - he always kept us posted on the weather and let us know his plan (we had two snowy/rain days). He also consistently arrived on time and was prepared to get to work as soon as he arrived. His team was focused and driven to make significant progress every day - It was obvious that Paul had a plan and kept his team to it... It was also obvious that Paul takes pride in his work - there is nothing less than perfection in his books. Without a roof for several days - we had a tarp covering our home. Paul spent the time to make sure everything was done to protect the house - even returning later in the evening to check on on the tarp during high winds and snow. Paul also accommodated changes throughout - making small and sometimes big changes on the fly with ease. His craftsmanship and attention to detail is second to none - we even had a building envelope engineer take a look - he was impressed! Paul was professional and clean on site and made sure our neighbours were respected throughout - he left the site clean and well organized every night. We are very pleased with the work and feel very luck to have had Paul and his team work with us. We look forward to our next project with Paul.

In short: Paul and PTR Carpentry are an absolute pleasure to work with! We hired PTR to complete all of the structural framing on our project. They replaced all of the floor joists of the 2nd and 3rd floors, levelled the 1st floor by sistering lumber, changed all of the staircase openings, rebuilt the rear extension and front bay window, and removed and rebuilt the roof. As someone that works with a lot of different trades in the industry, Paul and his crew stand out for several reasons: 1. Work Ethic - These guys show up every day ready to work. We visited the job site several times per day during this project and were always amazed by how much was getting done, and how professionally the crew conducted themselves. As evident from the description above, they essentially rebuilt the entire house; and all of this was accomplished in about 3 weeks. 2. Workmanship - The quality of the work produced was outstanding! These guys take what they do very seriously and show a lot of pride in their work. Everything that was completed was done to spec and with great attention to detail. 3. Professionalism - Paul's crew conduct themselves very professionally on site. From keeping the job site clean to accommodating some very difficult neighbours, you won't have anything to worry about with PTR on site. Paul always called whenever an issue cropped up, and was always great to work with when troubleshooting and finding solutions. Again, it was an absolute pleasure working with PTR and we hope to do more projects with them in the future! Rest assured you will be in good hands if you bring them on.
