We are pleased to provide a letter of reference for the My House team, as we highly recommend them. My wife and I just completed a major repair renovation of the downstairs of our townhouse, which was just originally built in the early 90s. The professionalism of My House was well known to us prior to the commencement of our project as we were lucky enough to witness their work on renovations they performed on a house belonging to our close friends. Our friends had hired My House to conduct various renovations, both inside and outside, on three occasions over the past 20 years. The work completed was outstanding and transformed their home. In fact, the original renovations still stand out for their quality. Regarding our townhouse, we purchased it two years ago with knowledge that we wanted to redo the kitchen and open it up to the main living area to provide more light and to have an open concept. Once we were ready to commence our renovations, we did not think about contacting other firms but went directly to My House. We were not disappointed. The project manager led us thru the various planning stages and thru the cumbersome but necessary process of obtaining a building permit thru the City. All was explained in advance and was completed within time and within budget. There were no surprises. Our construction manager was fantastic and was quick to see an opportunity to install a beam that would open up our living area more than we thought possible. The construction manager and his team were experienced, knowledgeable and professional throughout the project. He supervised the various trades that performed work and ensured any concerns were addressed quickly. We are extremely happy with the results of the renovation project. I highly recommend the company to anyone who asks.

We have been living in our house now for just over 10 years ,and decided that now is the time to renovate. After doing some research, we decided My House Design/Build Team would be a perfect fit to do a whole house renovation. The project involved creating an open concept, kitchen, dinning room, living room , removing a large dividing wall , renovate 3 bathrooms expand the master bed room ensuite , install new lighting, doors and windows and enclose the upper sundeck area into a gym. The reason we picked My House Design/Build Team was their reputation for quality as noted by the many awards they have received throughout the years as well as us meeting with Graeme the owner, and his team. From start to finish, we really got involved in the whole process. The design team headed by Morgan did an awesome job designing a new layout that meet all our needs and some. Eli , Construction Manager, did a fantastic job of organizing the actual construction and all sub trades always ensuring quality of workmanship and truly delivering on the vision of the design team. The project was completed on schedule and under budget and the billing process was very transparent. We believe that the quality of the My House Design/Build Team employees is what made our journey so satisfying and enjoyable. In 2016, we purchased a 1981 house that needed a full renovation. After much consideration we choose My House Design Build. The team educated us on the process from start to finish, and made suggestions for things we never would have thought to do. Hiring My House was the absolute best decision we could have made. Graeme, Bruno, Adam, Ignacio, Kelly, Morgan, Jonathan, Mark and so many other support staff made this such an amazing experience. They all poured their passion, expertise, skills, insights, and humor into creating our lovely home for which I will always be grateful. Our home is spectacular and more importantly safe (previously had asbestos and mould), solid and built to the highest standards. Everywhere you look, the exceptional quality is clear. I would highly recommend them to anyone, and will use them in any other projects in the future.

We hired the My House Design Build team to renovate the main floor and upstairs of our house. We absolutely love the end result - its beautiful, comfortable and easy to maintain. We highly recommend going with this company. Our house was built in the early 90s, all signs of ageing were becoming more obvious. The house felt dark and cramped. Now it feels bright, modern and refreshed. Weve been back in the house for over a year now and thoroughly enjoying the house. The renovation gave us what we wanted, down to the details. Renovating both the main floor and the upstairs is a big job with no small cost, so we were nervous. We are glad we ended up going with the My House team. The team is professional, knowledgeable, manages all aspects of the project and guides us through every step of the way, leaving us with no headaches. We are visual people, hence we particularly appreciate the drawings and video. Construction lasted about 7 months and there were a couple of surprises once the wall was opened up but the MyHouse team had solutions so we were all good. The quality of work / the end result speaks for itself.

After being in our home for 32 years with relatively few updates it was definitely time for a major change. Selecting My House Design/Build/Team to take us through our home redesign journey was an easy choice because of how they presented themselves on their website, all of their positive reviews, their great reputation and professionalism, and their many accolades. Doing a major renovation can be quite daunting, and even more so with the added challenges of a pandemic, but from our initial consultation, where everything was well presented and explained to us, we felt confident and at ease putting our complete trust in the My House Design/Build/Team. We were expertly guided through the entire process from building our wish list, coming up with a manageable budget and staying within that budget, design, construction, all the way through to completion. We did not have to worry about any aspects of our entire renovation as My House took care of absolutely everything; organizing permits, design meetings, hazmat testing, trades and contractors, etc. My House was completely transparent at all times, with no hidden surprises, throughout our entire project. We bought our home brand new 32 years ago and now, 32 years later, our home feels brand new once again! Thank you so much to our wonderful My House Team, Graeme, Kelly, Cameron, Corley, Piers, Kristen, Sarah, as well as all of the trades and contractors involved (sorry if we have missed anyone!) for helping us create a beautiful space and bringing our vision to reality! We worked with My House Design to shift the cramped 70's layout of our home into something more modern and free-flowing. The results look great! They'd re-engineered the new layout from the aesthetic design to the wall placements and delivered on the chosen designs without fault.

Prior to doing our main floor reno we interviewed with many designers and construction firms, we selected My House as we liked their full-service approach and professionalism! Our Project -They created more useable square footage, remove walls, remove the chimney, which created an amazing great room with an open concept kitchen. From the beginning to end of the project, we liked their approach. Before the first wall came down, we knew what we were getting into and what to expect. We liked that they had a dedicated individual in each specialty. Having specialists in each area for us was amazing because it took all the scary parts away and made it very easy.

It is my pleasure to write this letter of recommendation for My House Design Build Team which has completed a wonderful renovation of my house. The project involves a complete renovation of the 24-year old house and an addition of floor area to bring the total living space to about 6,000 sf. The project started with a meeting with the owner who inspired confidence in us with the company’s track record and his in-depth knowledge on home renovation. He shared with us many innovative ideas which we have never thought of to improve our house. The first big challenge of obtaining approval from the City for floor area addition was handled extremely well. Thorough understanding of City By-laws, detailed preparation of documents, and impressive presentation at the hearing earned us the approval to proceed with the construction of our dream home. The construction phase lasted for ten months and I am impressed with their efficiency. Though there were hiccups during the process, the construction team always came up with solutions and kept us well informed of everything. The kind of dedication to quality by the crew was second to none. They are all willing to take extra steps to ensure that all works are done to excel normal standards. When I moved back after completion, I was commended by my neighbors for hiring a team that was always courteous and mindful of reducing disturbance to the minimum. The end result is a beautiful and quality home that makes us proud to show it to everyone. It is so functional that all members in my family of three generations find their particular needs fully satisfied. The new home also contributes to the environment by having its EnerGuide rating improved from a dissatisfactory level of 56 in the old house to an excellent 84! Excellence in workmanship is only part of the success story. Creative interior and exterior design is the other integral component. The exterior of the house was given a face uplifting with new materials and color to significantly increase curb appeal. The internal layouts were heavily re-designed to open up space and enhance our view to the outdoor. Before we contacted My House, we would never have imagined that our house could be transformed into what we have now. This experience with My House leaves me with no hesitation to recommend them for any renovation and new home project. We hired the My House Design/Build Team to complete a full home renovation and expansion. Undertaking such a major project we wanted a contractor with a lot of experience and a reputation for high quality work. With My House, that is exactly what we got! Initially we met with Graeme, the owner, to explain our vision for the renovation. Graeme took the time to fully understand our objectives and offered ideas we could consider to enhance the project. During the meeting, Graeme carefully explained the design build process and left us with a positive feeling that the My House Team would be the right company for our project. After retaining the My House Team, we moved quickly into the initial design phase. The design team's experience was very evident. They worked with us to refine and develop the designs around our goals and put together a budget. During this phase the benefit of the design build concept became very evident as the design, construction and estimating teams work together very closely to achieve a functional and constructible design. This eliminates potentially costly and time consuming coordination issues during the construction phase possible when dealing with separate companies. All materials, fixtures and finishes were specified during the design phase allowing a high level of confidence in the final design and estimated cost. At the completion of the initial design phase we had a complete design package and an agreed to construction budget. Our interior designer, Becky, was a great fit for us and our project. In developing the designs, she helped us so much with the multitude of decisions and made the process enjoyable. Becky guided us through the design phase providing us with layout drawings to help us visualize the renovation and working with us to ensure the result would be ideal. She personally assisted us with the selection of every detail, meeting at vendor sites as required. She provided guidance and recommendations always mindful of our budget. What would have been an incredibly daunting task on our own, Becky made easy. She remained involved right through the construction phase ensuring that the product reflected the design and was of high quality. The construction phase took six months and we were very impressed with how the team kept to the schedule. The construction team were fantastic. Everyone was highly skilled, hard working, considerate and polite. Our neighbours were very complimentary on how courteous the construction team was and how there were minimal disruptions. The site was always kept secure, clean and safe. Our construction manager, Bruno, paid close attention to every detail to ensure that the quality of the onsite work and that of all the subcontractors was top notch. My House's use of well qualified and professional subtrades really made a difference for us. Challenges were expeditiously resolved by the construction team. During our frequent visits to the project site Bruno would always take time to explain every detail of the work in progress and answer questions. The project involved some very challenging engineering and construction. The expansion involved removing the entire exterior load bearing back wall of the main floor of the house creating an impressive award winning open concept kitchen and great room with a vaulted ceiling and massive sky light. The changes required extensive use of steel framing, foundation modifications and shear walls. The challenging design completed by the My House engineers was executed flawlessly by the construction crew thanks to the close coordination of the groups during the design phase. The fit and finish were beautifully completed by highly skilled tradesmen. Some of our favorite features are the beautiful barn doors which lead into our new kitchen, our huge island with a double thick chiselled edge countertop, our new open wood staircase and our rustic linear fireplace. Other highlights included removing an interior wall to create a large laundry room, all new bathrooms, new wide plank hardwood flooring throughout, new windows, doors and trim, lighting, HVAC and electrical service. Exterior work included a new deck and patio, all new landscaping and a new roof and driveway. Clearly, the My House Team can do it all. The design build concept allowed a seamless execution of the project from the initial design and estimating phase through to completion of construction. All aspects of the project were well organized and completed in a timely manner. The finished product is stunning! Our home was a finalist for the 2016 CHBA National Awards for Housing Excellence and won a GVHBA Ovation Award for Best Kitchen. It is also a finalist for the 2017 Georgie Awards! We are so proud of our new home and highly recommend the My House Team for any renovation project or new build and would not hesitate to entrust them with future work, no matter what the size.
