I had a lot of little jobs that I couldn't seem to fix, but fortunately I found someone who could - Dave Symons of DMS. He fixed a toilet that wouldn't stop running, repaired a light fixture that wasn't burning bright, rehung a gate that wouldn't open, straightened a stair on my deck that had come loose and showed me what was wrong with a furnace vent I couldn't seem to pry loose. Not only was he fast - like most handymen, he charges by the hour and finished within 90 minutes - but he was also honest, looking at an outdoor plug that he confessed would need a full electrician's skill to properly repair. I appreciated him being so frank about it, since his candor saved me some money on his time. In addition, his rates were more than fair, he was very efficient and my dog loved him - and he's a great judge of character! I will definitely call him back again when my next "to do" list gets long. Thanks Dave for doing such a great job in such a short time! I appreciated your time and your trouble.

We had Dave repair 2 holes in our drywall, replace the caulking in our bathtub, replace the plastic dryer vent on the outside wall of our home, fix our bedroom door lock, replace missing ceiling tiles in our basement, and several other miscellaneous items. The other descriptions here on Homestars of Dave and his work are accurate: he is reliable, friendly, "quick to assess what can be done and get right to it," and does very neat, quick, and careful work. We're really glad to have discovered Dave through Homestars. Very honest and hardworking.

I am very happy that we found Dave on Home Stars. He removed and replaced caulking in two bathrooms and did a great job. Upon removing old caulking in the basement shower, water was coming out from the gaps, so he advised for us to wait until the shower is dry and returned when we called him to finish the job. He was on time, neat, and advised us of all the fees ahead of time. We would definitely work with Dave again.

Various projects int he house , from plumbing repair, to various installations and upkeep - door hinges, rehang a door, lighting repair etc. Dave is reliable, a hard worker and pleasant. He is quick to assess what can be done and get right to it. thanks Dave!!

David has been a pleasure to deal with - he arrived promptly, is very friendly and knowledgeable. In a few hours, he caulked around the kitchen counter, shower and did some minor plumbing.

Dave was a pleasure to work with. He was punctual and tried to accomplish each job to the best of his ability. I was very happy that he was willing to pick up a box in his van that wouldn't fit in my car and only charged me half an hour for his trouble. He is a very skilled worker and always leaves the workplace as clean as he found it.

Dave did a fabulous job finishing my closet (it was an extension that was unfinished), including putting up drywall, shelves and drawers into a fairly odd space. The walls were not straight (old walls), so Dave had to improvise but it looks just superb. Before the job, he told me what I needed to get, and I didnt need to get anything else. Also, while I had bought shelves, he saw the opportunity to use the plywood he had bought, and I saved money returning the Home Depot shelves.

We hired Dave to replace caulk around our bathtub & relace an electric doorbell. We were very pleased with his prompt, efficient service, respectfully delivered at a reasonable rate. We would definitely call upon him again when the need arises

We have used David for the past few years and have been completely satisfied with his quality of work, reliability and pleasant manner. He has been a godsend, given the fact we had some pretty bad experiences in the past. David has built us 2 sheds, verandah ceiling/cover, replaced steps/windows and performed many other routine minor repairs, etc. I would highly recommend him. Thanks David.
