I selected Ashlar and some other local landscape companies based on Homestars reviews and contacted them for quotes. Daimon responded quickly to my request and came by soon after to review the scope of the project. I was immediately impressed with his easy-going, no-BS approach. The quote he provided was delivered on-time and was around the middle of the pack vs. the others with regards to price. His quote detailed each individual part of the job which made it easy to adjust and remove items based on my budget. He was also very accommodating with revisions/adjustments, often suggesting alternatives I hadn't considered. It quickly became apparent that he has a lot of landscaping experience but also knew how to explain everything in layman's terms. I opted to work with him based on all of this and, once the agreement was made, he provided a date range when he could start work and arrived within that range to begin the project. The team who completed the work was small - just two people (Jamie and Danielle). In spite of that I was very impressed with how quickly they completed everything; to say they were hard workers would be an understatement. Perhaps even more notable than their work ethic was how respectful, approachable and generally affable they were. My grass, driveway and pathways were protected and, aside from some dust, were left as they found them despite continuous traffic from heavy equipment, river rock, aggregate and almost 20 yards of soil. They respected quiet hours in the morning even though they were on-site before 8am, kept music at a good volume and were generally polite. I received no complaints from my neighbours throughout the project duration. One over-and-above was that they actually replaced some of the mulch in my neighbour's garden which bordered the walkway and was disturbed during the job - no one asked them to do that, they just thought it was the right thing to do. The finished product was exactly what I had asked for and looked better than I had imagined. They checked in with me a couple of times to address and correct the few unexpected challenges that came up (e.g. a tree root that required an extension to a mulch bed), so I felt connected to the job the whole way through but didn't feel like I had to keep a close eye on them. I would not hesitate to work with Ashlar again and will recommend them to family and friends in the area without hesitation.

Daimon and his team were great, professional and went out of their way to make sure everything I needed was right. Great work, fair price and I will be using again.

This review is based on the work we had done in Spring 2019 - Daimon and his team were extremely professional and made some suggestions on the design that ultimately looked great and saved us money! We are so delighted with the end product as it added significant curb appeal to our house! We would highly recommend Ashlar Landscapes for their quality work and reasonable prices.

Daimon and his crew (Jamie and Danielle) recently replaced our front walk and put a new veneer on our front porch. We are very happy with the work and were getting compliments before the work was even done! Great work guys!

We were looking to have our backyard re-designed as we had some grading issues around our house that needed to be addressed. Daimon was able to provide various solutions at different price points so we were able to find something suitable within our budget. We are very happy with the end result. Daimon and his team (Matt and Parker) installed a roughly 250 square foot patio in our backyard. Daimon was terrific to work with in scoping out what exactly we wanted and guided us through the decision process. His team was friendly, approachable and professional - everything you would hope they would be - and a pleasure to work with. We were very pleased with the finished product and highly recommend Ashlar Landscapes.

After I got new fences put in this summer, it was time to do the last bit of landscaping that I had in mind. I wanted proper garden beds in the backyard for my dad's vegetable garden, and cedar trees all along the back side. The edging for the garden beds needed to match the existing patio and seating walls. I wanted something that looked "significant". Once again, I didn't bother with estimates and went straight to Daimon and his crew at Ashlar. They did all of the previous landscaping around my house in previous years. They did not disappoint. Daimon listened to what I wanted, and suggested a step pattern for the side walls/edging to handle the downward grading of my yard. The final product is far better than I could have hoped for. As before, Daimon's crew (Matt and Parker) worked diligently, and answered any questions I had. They cleaned up after the job was done as well. I am extremely happy with the work done by Ashlar over the years, and would recommend them to my friends without hesitation.

Great work. Done on time, good design advice and helped problem solve when unexpected issues arose. Had a good vision for the what would be possible and what would look good. We would highly recommend using Ashlar to others.
