    Building Permit

    Our Vancouver based design firm recently worked with Gordon to submit for a building permit in Toronto. He was really great to work with, very knowledgable and professional and a great source of contacts in the area. Whenever there was a snag in the permit process, Gordon was on top of the situation. We look forward to working with him again.

    Two-Floor Addition

    Gord was a pleasure to work with from start to finish of this project - a two-story addition. He listened closely to our ideas, articulated our rough sketches in blueprints, met with our contractor to confirm additional questions, and submitted our plans to the necessary channels (HVAC, engineer, and city). The entire process was effortless thanks to Gord. Even when our plans needed tweaking (our fault), Gord switched course and altered the design - always with warm words of wisdom and never a hint of frustration. No question was ever too small (or stupid) for Gord. He discussed every feature of our plan in lengthy detail over the phone and via email, always coming across as a person who genuinely loves creating beautiful and functional designs.

    Building plans + permit

    I would highly recommend Gordon for anyone looking to get plans drawn and even submitted on your behalf to obtain a permit. He is knowledgeable, patient, and professional. I've been trying to obtain a permit by myself (as the home owner), and it is ridiculously difficult. I just submitted my application for the THIRD time, and in anticipation of it being rejected AGAIN , I started to call around for designer or architects to take over this aspect of the reno, if needed. I called a few of them (on a Saturday), and Gordon replied, almost immediately. We spent 20 minutes on the phone just discussing the situation! I wish I STARTED this process with Gordon - I'd have a lot less stress and could spend time and effort on OTHER parts of the reno.

    Design and Permit for New Garage

    Mr Crowhurst was a pleasure to deal with, he responded quickly to my calls and emails and turned the whole process around from quote to design and permit in my inbox within a week and half. Very impressive, given the red tape you typically have to go through to get a permit in the city of Toronto. I will definitely be using his services again and would recommend Crowhurst Design to anyone looking for designs of a very high caliber completed in a timely manner and at an affordable price.     Permit Ready Drawings for an addition

    We checked several websites including Home stars before we chose Crowhurst Design in Oshawa to do our permit ready drawings for an addition to our house in Toronto. From the get go, Mr. Crowhurst was on the ball. He listened to us, treated us with utmost respect, provided us with all the necessary information and met with us at our convenience and on time. He was well prepared when he came to meet us. His price was very reasonable compared to all other quotes we received. He treated our money with respect and suggested ways to save money. Since the initial drawings, he has been more than patient and accommodating to answer all our questions and make several modification as and when requested. It did not matter what day of the week or what time, day or night, he always responded to our queries immediately. He gave us great suggestions.So far we are very pleased with his work and will definitely recommend him to anyone. Thanks

    Barn Construction

    Crowhurst Design was very helpful in getting our drawings up to code and getting them approved by the engineer, sorting out our issues with building code, dealing with the City, arranging HVAC and making sure we get our building up and running as quickly as possible. Gordon Crowhurst was reliable and returned phone calls and emails within the same business day. He was punctual on appointments and delivered services and drawings on time.

    Garage conversion to bedroom/bathroom

    I would recommend Crowhurst Design to anyone looking for renovation drawings. I was extremely impressed by their speed,service and quality of work. This is the only area of the reno so far that went according to (or even faster than) the schedule. Very reasonable rates as well!

    Permit Drawigns

    As a contractor, getting permits can be a difficult but necessary task. However, with Gordon... that task has always been easy and allowed me to provide professional services to my clients. There is a lot to know about the Ontario Building Code and what each municipality will accept... and Gordon has always been able to have an answer and get my permits passed. Plus, he designs permit drawings in a way that make it practical, efficient, and well built, so my staff have an easier time providing top quality to my clients. I would highly recommend Gordon's services to anyone!

    We had drawing don to turn our garage into a bedroom with sitting area and bathroom

    We found Gordon on the internet and from the start he was very helpful and friendly. We were in a rush to get our drawinngs back as we are to trying to get our senior in-laws to move in and he had them done in a week. He was fast, reliable and did a wonderful job on the drawings. Because I have no idea about construction he also explained everything as we went along as well as made sure we had all the safety features like smoke detectors in the drawings. I would definitely use Crowhurst Designs again or recommend them to anyone who might need these services.

    New House Construction

    I was looking for someone to review and stamp completed drawings for a permit application. I came across Gordon at Crowhurst Designs on the internet and he was very pleasant to work with. I had worked in the US for several years, there were areas of the OBC that I was not extremely familiar with. Gordon review all of my drawings and helped my understand what was required in Ontario for permits. He was very thorough and always responded promptly! He is extremely knowledgeable about the building code and the construction process and I would recommend him to anyone who needs architectural drawings done!
