    Springs replaced

These guys are expensive. But, I called at ten in the morning by 1:00pm my door was repaired. He gave me a verbal quote with various price options. I went middle of the road. I probably could have it done cheaper but it was nice to be done quickly. I also got a written three year warranty

    garage door cable replacement

we needed a garage door cable replacement due to corrosion. The Tech was friendly and efficient. The work took less than 15 minutes. But then came the shocker: $95 for serive call $ 78 for set of cables $ 55 for installation. Total with tax 258$ we had the same repair done 2less than 2 years ago by another company and paid around $150. Guess Prestige is not getting any future business from us, since their prices are outrageous.

    Garage Door Springs

Please please read this. I will let the reader judge. I will just state the facts in hopes of saving another person from a nightmare. During Covid my spring broke on my garage door- I called Prestige Garage Doors. Because I was terrified of having more people in my house I decided to go forward with Prestige Garage Doors - they charged me 1800.00 for new springs. TOld me I had a 10 year warranty. I was shocked by the price but thought surely no one would take advantage during Covid? The door worked for 2 months and it fried my garage door opener. I called them back to come fix it and they were hesitant. I started getting a sick feeling. So in a hunch I called another company to come have a look. Well- I was told Prestige Garage Doors installed the wrong springs and the wrong cables. Resulting in ruining my garage door opener. I called Prestige Garage Doors to give them an opportunity to make it right. The owner laughed at me and said he had my money and there is nothing I could do. So , I will leave it at that. You be the judge. Thank you for reading my review.

    garage door repair

Booked an appointment with this company to get my garage door repaired for next afternoon and then cancelled it within next 10 mins. Some guy attended the call and said ok. Next morning someone turns up saying I have come to fix your garage door to which I said I cancelled my appointment. he was adamant that he would not go until I pay him service charge as he came all the way from Kitchener. Called their office and that guy was so rude and was yelling saying that I did not cancel. Very very rude and dishonest people.

    Repair garage door spring

My grandfather found their Ad in the local phone book and wrongly assumed that this was a local business and called them to replace a spring on his garage door. They came and completed the job, which took less than half an hour and then billed him $700.00 for the job. (For context my cousin had the same job done for $120.00 in recent years). He does not use the computer often so unfortunately he did not think to look up reviews of this company first. A quick google search shows they have received several negative reviews, & another reviewer mentions similar price gouging by this business. Not only is it deplorable that a company would take advantage of a senior citizen (they even said they gave him a "seniors discount" HA!) but also during this time of the covid-19 pandemic. My mother attempted to speak with the man who completed the service after she found out and he said he "Couldn't care less what anyone has to say". Both she and I left reviews on the business Facebook page but they have since removed them from the site. We have filed a complaint with the BBB

    Overcharging!!!! Stay Away.

Overcharging!!!!Do not get this so-called “company “. They feel they have you over a barrel when they come to fix your garage doors and grossly overcharge. This company should be investigated by CBC. The site makes you think that there are 7-8 locations , but when you call, you always get this ‘Mike’ guy who is very rude saying ‘too bad you already paid’. There was no warranty or paperwork given, even when asked for. Stay far far away.

Misrepresented services, 3x cost, No copy of warrantee, conditions of sale etc - what was I thinking!

Wouldn't give a quote or even a ballpark on the phone, "too many variables" according to the guy in Stratford (very rude). The service call was $125. I needed to replace 2 springs (heavy duty) on one 12' wide x 7' high overhead door and a single spring (heavy duty) on a 8' wide x 7' high single overhead door. 3 springs at almost $800. Told me I had to replace the drums on each door ($168 for each pair) $336 total or the warrantee would be reduced from 10 yrs to 3 yrs. Now my door is in parts all over the floor, I'm thinking to myself this seems like a lot. I need my door. I okay the visa charge, then look later that night online and get several other estimates that indicate the total bill should be $500-$650 including taxes. I call back within 72 hours, "Mike" flips out and says too bad, we told you the amount and you paid for it. How this guy is in business I don't know. Trying to call their head office, just get a message machine. So of course now "Mike" who answers all of their calls hangs up each time I call to calmly try and discuss a dispute resolution. Trying to make headway on getting something in writing on the warrantee and they will not provide anything in writing on that either. Mike just keeps repeating that the computer knows, which I am not sure how since he doesn't have my name or my proper phone number documented anywhere. Called VISA, and they won't help since I okayed the purchase via a PIN. Unfortunately, because the door is now working, Prestige has somehow honoured their end of the buy/sell agreement, even if they have very poor customer service and can not provide any sort of paperwork to backup their supposed warrantee. Every chance I get, I will tell EVERYONE to stay AWAY from them.

    replace garage door cables

The two cables were broken. Over the phone, I was told that the cost includes $95 service fee plus parts costs. The technician came and replaced the two broken cables. I was not satisfied with the service because when the door moves down, it does not move smoothly as before, and makes loud noises and squeaks. The technician told me that I have to change rollers to eliminate noises. But change rollers would cost hundreds of dollars. I don’t understand why the technician charged me additional $125 for labor. I had not been told that there would be labor cost. Also, their website says all major credit card acceptable, but the technician accepted only debit card or cash. This is a false statement.
