You definitely met and exceeded the expectations I had when I originally came on Homestars and spent all that time trying to find the right sprinkler company. I did meet with other companies reviewed with high percentages but what really won me over was the friendly, caring, and professional vibe that I got from Northern Rainmakers. And yes, for those wondering, their price is competitive compared to the other quotes that I received.
My experience with Northern Rainmakers started with a very prompt response from a request on Homestars to get a quote. One of the owners, Jamie, came out the next day to meet with me. What a nice and down-to-earth guy! I was most impressed with how well he listened and how he really took his time to explain how their services would accomplish what I was looking for. He didn't make me feel like he was in a rush or that I was just another customer. You could tell that he truly cares. He even flagged out where all the sprinkler heads, valve box, and controller would go. This helped me a lot in terms of visualizing the system and especially for Jamie and I to come to a consensus on how to best meet my gardens needs.
I like that this company recommends Hunter and Rainbird products. If you've ever looked into a sprinkler system, you may already know that these are the most reputable brands in the industry and Northern Rainmakers only wants to use the best. I had a few special requests for particular parts (ie. a particular controller and flow sensor) and they were happy to provide. Now that I have a wifi system that I can control on my phone and is connected to local weather stations, I feel like I got exactly what I was looking for.
My install date was booked in during a busy season so I would've had to wait a few weeks but a cancellation came up and I was able to get the job done a lot sooner thanks to Crystal in the office. The scheduling and all communications, following the initial quote, were all handled through her. Having spoke with her on a few occasions, I can tell you that she is very friendly, organized, professional, and quick to respond by email or answer by phone. This played a big factor in deciding which company to choose.
On the day of the install I was a bit nervous because I've put a lot of time, effort, and money into my lawn and gardens so it was really important to me that they were careful, especially around my more rare evergreens and Japanese Maples. This is where they really shined! Without me asking, they figured out how to route all the underground hoses with barely running any through the gardens and, when all was said and done, you could hardly tell that trenches were dug all over.
During cleanup, the crew even got down on their hands and knees to rake by hand throughout the gardens and lawn to clear any built up dirt and to spread the existing mulch back nicely around all the plants. What was also nice is that I didn't find one piece of construction material or garbage anywhere.
In closing, they take pride in their work and that's what I'm always looking for. It's not just about the quality of install, it's a lot about the service you will receive before, during, and after that really makes the difference. Thank you Northern Rainmakers!
