    California move

We moved from Toronto to San Jose, CA with troy Moving. Had a good experience. They really helped us out with the paperwork. I only had a temp visa which meant a lot of checking at the border, but Troy had brokers at the border and worked everything out for us. I had a good experience and my rep always responded to my questions right away. I was happy with the service. When the stuff arrived, there was 1 small carpet that they forgot at the warehouse, but i got that back on their next run, which was great. Thanks Alice.

    long distance moving

I used tr for my long distance moving. I have 5 bedroom house , you can guess how much it did coast me. But i have no complaints. Everything went smooth at the pick up. 5 men came for pick up, they packed and loaded everthing in 2.5 hours. That is awesome. At the delivery i was expecting to see couple scratches, or damages on my furnitures. Because of reviews in internet. But i got 0 (zero) damaged item. Maybe i was lucky, but i dont think so, b/c i just loved the movers packing, was very professional, fast, safe, gentle. Thanks all.

    move from ontario to alberta

I would not recommend this company. The packing was slow & chaotic, then they ran out of boxes. On arrival, the men refused to carry the boxes in to the house and put everything in the garage. When I unpacked I found electrical equipment & lamshades tossed in with garden hoses & sprinklers, broken plates, legs snapped off dining chairs and lots of other damage. Just as they were about to leave, I discovered that my pool table was still on the truck. Later that day, a woman called me to say she was missing her TV and the men said I must have it! I have used many professional movers in the past and this was the worst experience I have ever had. Do not risk it!

    moving

Hi, I`ve moved with Troy in August 14, from Halifax to Etobicoke-ON. Everything was great in Halifax. 3 movers came into my house and they started to pack and labeled my items one by one. I was only nervous about my fragile items. But 1000 times thanks to Troy, i got only one broken coffee cup. But i think it was my fault, because i didn`t cover it properly. The main part of this story is missing small bicycle bell. I know its funny :))) Troy has called me last week and said `we found your bell`. It was unbelievable :) So, end of the story :))) Thanks Trooy Transportation.

    moving and storage

October 2012, I have used Troy Moving and Storage twice, the first time was a direct ship and it went as smooth as silk. The second time I had to use their storage facilities to store my belongings for several months before I could take delivery of them, the staff was patient and very courteous , if I had question someone was always quick to answer even on the weekends. I would recommend them to anyone wanting to move whether it be a long distance move as mine was, or just a short one their prices are great and their service is terrific. Bonnie Vincent

    Move from Calgary to Vancouver

I booked my move in early July with Troy for a move date from Calgary to Van Sept 1/12. Alice from Troy dealt with me and advised their movers should pick up my belongings on Aug 20th that way she could gaurantee a Sept 1 delivery date (her words in an email to me). I called 3 days before to try and nail down a timeframe as to which they would deliver on the 1st so my building could prep the elevators etc and be ready for this..Naomi advised there was no way it would be there by the 1st and she wouldn't help me to know what was happening. I finally heard back from Alice who apologized profusely and said she will "try" to get it there earlier the following week. The drivers truck broke down and she couldn't commit to anything. It took on average a day or 2 for their replies and only via email (thankful for that now as i have record of all of that) finally i was upset and was in touch with Sofia, i asked for a discount due to these delays and now being on day 6 with nothing she would not offer a discount until i pushed and finally she offered a flat $200 discount due to this. I accepted that as I had no choice they still had my things, finally on Sept 7th early in the am i called Sofia again to know what was happening she said the driver was in Golden and would be in Vancouver in 4 hours. I asked if she owned a Map and was concerned there was no way he would get to my building before 6 like she was aware of the strata laws. She said let him drive and i promise i will call you in 2 hours to confirm if he can make it before 6 for the delivery. No call from her, until it was 5:10 and the driver called to say he was 20-30 min away and I was surprised as i never knew he was coming because she didn't call. I advised they will not let you deliver, he said he will call Sofia and call me back. Sofia called me irate at the fact that i was refusing the delivery, i said you never called me back like you said to confirm..i didn't know he was coming! She said she tried to call me twice, which is not true and i asked why if this was so important and didn't answer would she not leave a voice mail to advise of the plan..she said "well maybe i should have left a voice mail but if you don't accept this delivery i will no longer be accountable for this move" i had no choice but not to accept due to my building laws. That went from bad to worse it essentially took 5 more days of not being informed by anyone but the driver Danny (who was my only saving grace) to inform me about what was happening. I got mad Sept 11/12 and submitted a claim against them to the BBB..I emailed all of them to advise Alice, Sofia and Elena (the owner) and said all i have asked for is to know what was happening and i want a firm date as to when you can deliver my goods. I got a reply from Alice indicating that due to me submitting a claim against them they were revoking my discount of $200 and now full payment of $1154 was due! Thank you for punishing me for you being 12 days late on your comitment and leaving me in my place with nothing for almost 2 weeks..there was no sympathy or understanding at all on their part. DO NOT put yourself through this, pay extra and go with a reputable company!

    Moving from Halifax to Calgary

Hired this company to move us. They say right on their website that they will not contract out your move yet that's exactly what they did, without telling us. First they gave us a date for pick up then a few days before that date we called to confirm and suddenly it was a date range. They were still late and didn't make it within their own range. Our stuff was stored in Calgary for a month. 9 days before we move into our apartment we call them and give them the address and tell them we'd like our things as close to the first of the month as possible. The first comes and they still haven't called with an ETA. We call them and that's when they tell us they contracted our move to a different company. Labour day weekend goes by and we called them again. Still no ETA. We ask to speak to a manager but they're conveniently all busy. So now it's been 2 weeks since we told them where to deliver and still no ETA. I'm writing this on my phone since I still don't have any of my things. They also state on their website that they charge no hidden fees. Until they have your stuff then suddenly there's extra fee for stairs. They went hundreds over their estimate even though we got rid of a lot of things. My advice is to never hire Troy Moving. They'll just contract it out to some C rated company anyways and then say it's not their fault when problems arise.

Avoid and save yourselves the headache and unnecessary frustration and stress.

We moved from Montreal to Toronto and although specifically we had told them that they should not sub-contract our business, on both occassions the loaders and unloaders confirmed that they were sub-contracted by Troy Moving, and were NOT part of Troy Moving. It was a miracle that they even showed up on the right date as we had just luckily called to confirm the pick up date and found out that the booking date at their end was wrong and they never even bothered to call to confirm the bookings. Its a constant chase to get someone to respond to our emails or phone calls. I had an email confirmation of the pick up date, however Troy Moving claimed it was a mistake on our part! It's now been 4 weeks since we have moved to our place and the furniture pieces that were lost or broken, we have had no follow up. I have to call and call to get a response, the main contact who was super nice prior to the move date, seems almost impossible to get a hold of. We have submitted the claim but have faced so much unnecessary stress as we feel our hands are tied behind our back. It has been a very painful and bad experience dealing with them and we have had difficultly getting a straight answer from them. I would suggest that someone from the top management looks into the issue and we are compensated accordingly for our loss and the suffering that we have had to face in the hands of mismanagement. I would not recommend Tory Moving service and I will not be using their services again.

    Moving to Missisauga

Great service from these guys. They asked me to write a review and I was happy to do so. My rep was Alice and she was great. We moved from Regina to Etobicoke in July and I finally got around to submitting this review.Good price and good service, how much more can I ask for. We moved many times locally but first time long distance. I was so nervous and was packing every day. When the driver arrived for the pickup I was still not done (I have to 2 small kids – twins) and of course there was some lose end and odds. But the driver offered help and made sure that I knew what he was doing. He even offered a few boxes for free. That was really a big help. When the stuff arrived here they delivered within 5 days from pick up and right to my house. Great service from the 3 guys that showed up. It was so quick that I couldn’t even notice what they were doing. I paid and then I got the stuff inside the house. Very happy with the quick turnaround time.I asked them what to do with my broken shoe shelf, they said that they would help with the repair cost which is so fair. I promised that I would write something nice and I am happy to do it, they deserved it.
