I tried Exterior Elements because they had such an excellent rating on Home Stars. When I called Chris he was very accommodating and confident that his company would do an excellent job with follow-up to ensure satisfaction. He arranged a subcontractor (Dorn) very quickly and the crew completed installing new eaves on the house in Brantford. However, when it rained less than a week later we noticed there was a steady stream of water pouring out of one of the corners of the eaves onto the wooden deck below. This was in November. Despite assurances that the deficit would be fixed by the following week, and then the week after, it was not done. Knowing that such work cannot be done in the winter, we waited while the deck and wheelchair ramp iced over making walking very dangerous. We contacted Chris again in the Spring and, as before, assurances were made that he would come out to fix the leaky corner - he noted there were a couple other such jobs in the area with similar issues that he had to go back to correct. It has now been a further 6 weeks - no word has been heard from him, he does not return any messages, and nothing has been done to fix the problem. We just want the eaves to do their job properly. If Exterior Elements (and subcontractor DORN) show integrity and good work ethics by completing the job, we will gladly change this review.
May 2015: Richard from Exterior Elements contacted me and returned to the house to add sealant to the leaky corner. After a recent storm only a few drops escaped through so there should no longer be a safety problem next winter on the wheelchair lamp. Thank you Richard for your attention to this review and your conscientious follow-up.
