After getting quotes from several companies Tarek was the only one who bothered to show up at my house and actually give me a proper quote with no surprise pricing afterwards. He was very knowledgeable in the work that he does and pointed out things that I hadn't even thought about or taken into consideration. He arrived on time for every scheduled appointment. He advised that they would make the railings and come by for a dry fitting before they were sent to be galvanized and wanted a deposit then. When the time came to dry fit the rails, (they looked beautiful, by the way!) some modifications had to done and because they were not to his satisfaction, he would not accept my deposit. No other contractor would do that! He would only accept my deposit once he was satisfied and I was satisfied. A truly honest contractor! And the price? His price was unbeatable!!! I was quoted several thousand dollars more than what he quoted. The railings are finally installed and they look beautiful! Excellent customer service! Thank you Tarek and your staff!

Smith Metal Works was recommended to me by a friend & I am so glad. I was unsure of what I wanted & Tarek was quick to show me various designs without being pushy. Since all work is done in his shop he could custom make anything. He always came when he said he would which is some feat given that I live in an area of Toronto with constant construction. The railing was measured perfectly & when it was installed it was done with precision & then they cleaned the area. This was outside too so clean up was not all that necessary. They examined the railing carefully & had a small paintbrush to touch up very minor patches including the screws holding the railing on the ground. If you use Smith Metal you will not be disappointed, I am thrilled!!!!

We cannot be happier with the work Tarek and his team from Smith Metal Works have done in our home. Whatever you're railing needs, be it a new install, refinishing or updating, Tarek is the go-to man for you. After our very bitter expirience with two other contractors and lost couple months, finally we've made the call and Tarek called back right away. Next day he was at our home to see the job - two weeks later we've got our gorgeous metal railing. What we've liked the most is that Tarek told us what we needed to know, not what we wanted to hear and the fact that he was the one pointing out to the minor errors even thaugh we didn't notice. Terrfic job! Tarem was wonderfull and the new stair railing looks great. I will be sure to contact him again when the next round of renovation arrives. Courteous, quick, proffessional work - on time and on quote - couldn't be better!

In today's world where exceptional service, commitment and truly wanting to meet the needs of customers is the exception and not the norm, Smith Metal Works focuses on simply making the customer happy and feeling good about what they have recieved. Tarek genuinely wants you to be pleased with your product but also the experience of working with him to achieve your specific goals for the product you are looking to have. I just wish all of my experiences were like this.

Tarek is a great gentlemen to do business with, he really knows what he's doing! At an excellent price he was able to make our grand entrance look complete! The detail and craftsmanship put in the railing for our front porch is amazing, we get plenty of compliments on it and we would recommend Smith Metal Works to anyone looking to get railings installed on their house!

The guys along with the owner of company were on time very clean and did everything we asked in regards to last minute changes.
