Hi highly recommend Act Fast! Colm responded quickly to my initial call, we were able to arrange a visit same day. He discovered a pipe leak under our deck which was the cause of dampness & drywall damage in our basement (a previous contractor missed this); ultimately it saved time and money since Colm assessed it could easily be repaired with inside waterproofing. He also set us up with a plumber, who was terrific, to fix the leak. Our job took about 6 hours. Colm and Dominic arrived on time, set up lots of plastic sheeting to cut down on any mess and cleaned up really well after. Colm made sure we were happy with the job. 10+ stars! We reached out to Colm to discuss the best options for waterproofing one side of our basement (we identified a wall that was especially vulnerable to water). Colm answered all of our questions in the initial quoting stages as well as throughout the work - he was very patient and accommodating in all of our requests. We discovered that a little water came up around the laminate flooring in a basement room when we walked on it. Because of his great Home Stars reviews I called Colm. I was so fortunate to get him just after he had returned from a trip to Ireland. When he arrived, he spent a lot of time looking around the basement, taking pictures and discussing, with me the possibilities. We decided that the laminate had been ruined and would need to come up. Colm said that if the cause of the water wasn't obvious, it would be best to leave the floor uncovered until spring so we could figure out what was happening. I was impressed that he wasn't rushing in to costly repairs. When the floor came up we realized that the water was coming from a leaky humidifier on the furnace. That was great news. Colm charged me a very low amount to remove the wood and take it away. At all times he was punctual, charming and ready to share his ideas with me. He is really a terrific person and I have no hesitation in giving him the highest recommendation.

We uncovered a wet basement in the summer and contacted Colm who had done work for us previosuly. Colm was able to assess that the issue quickly and identified that the problem was from excessive ground water and the floor being poured below the footings. After consulting with us about our options and some of the costs we may encounter , we did not hesitate to get a second quote and went with Colm's approach which was the most straight forward, cost effective option to address and resolve the issue with least mount of work. Colm's team were efficient and had the wall prepped and ready and the sump pump installed in the first day. The weeping tile the waterproofing barrier were completed the following day with the job done in 2 days. The basement is now noticeably not as damp and the air quality has also improved. Colm was also helpful in processing the city rebate for the sump pump installation which made the job that much more affordable. Thanks Colm for all your hard work! Colm started this job promptly and kept me apprised of each step that was involved as well as how long it would have take and when he would be back. He always stayed true to his word. He provided safety netting when needed and cleaned up the site after each step. He was honest , hard working, timely and completed the job without any delays. Colm went over and above the call of duty with a precision and eye towards all details. I could not have been more satisfied with his work and highly recommend him.
