    Closet Upgrades

    The main job that we asked Stan to do was to upgrade our closets by removing the old racking, and installing the new, plus removing the old mirrored doors and installing the new. Stan was punctual and hard-working and we were very happy with the end result.

    Repair and replace pillar of front columns and repar garage door

    We're very happy with the professional services and quality of work of The Ancaster Handyman. They repaired our front columns and one of garage door and they now look great!

    Thanks Isabelle It was good to get rid of all that rotten wood at the bottom of that pillar and a new base built for it to sit on and also to get rid of the rotten wood on the garage door. With the matching paint that you had you can't tell that they hace been repaired.

    Deck railing install, fence repairs, door lock, window screens, drywall

    This is the second time I hired Stan, and again, he has done another great job for me. My laundry list of repairs included installing a deck railing as well as several repairs to various parts of my fence, a door lock, two window screens, and a piece of drywall. He is the one stop shopping guy for a laundry list like this. He is really versatile and can get a lot done very efficiently. He is a natural at doing and figuring out just about anything which is why you can call him for all of your bits and pieces. Great value for the dollar. I will be using him again for sure.

    Fast response time and responsible works

    I just suddenly found my tall outdoor post light pole is leaned and almost broken. I felt it is so dangerous that it can hurt the pedestrians. I called Stan as an emergency call. He went to my home in 20 minutes. we also found all the screws are rusty. He is smart and he fixed it and pulled the tall light down. He helped me out of trouble. Our family is so appreciated with his quick work.

    Hanging pictures, mirrors, plumbing, garage door closer, helping with general household repairs

    I just moved into this house and needed general repairs, pictures, and mirrors hung. Stan was very conscientious and precise about this job. I was having problems hooking up the waterline on my frig and Stan even called me between jobs to discuss frig issues. He did everything I needed done, is always on time and keeps working until the jobs are done. Very satisfied and would call him again and recommend his work.

    Made New Drawer For Kitchen

    Stan was very friendly and worked efficiently. I was very pleased with outcome and I already have more jobs for the Ancaster Handyman. You know, the ones that my husband said he'd get to...

    Deck carpentry

    I hired Stan to cut an opening in my cedar deck in a section that blocked access to a basement window. I wanted the opening but I also wanted a removable cover for it for safety. Once the deck board was off, it was clear that the entire area to be cut out needed to be re-framed for support, and Stan discussed with me how he thought it could work. What am amazing job ! Stan is very skilled technically and quite resourceful. Also, with Stan's removable cover, you would never know that the opening was even underneath. Beautiful! Stan also cut off some rail posts for us. I like the way Stan came over to look at the job ahead of time, provided me with a confirmed date and time for the work, and showed up as scheduled. I would definitely hire Stan again for any handywork at our home.

    Faucet Replacement

    What should have been a simple aerator replacement (by myself) got extremely complicated in an older home, resulting in an unusable faucet for several days. As I rent, this should have been replaced by my landlord; however, he is not a handy person (although he likes to think he is). As such, any work that would be done needed to be discreet. I found Stan on Homestars and explained the situation and the need for the job to be completed in a discreet fashion. He provided several recommendations via email, and we set a time for him to come over. Within an hour, the faucet was replaced, the kitchen was repaired, and it was like new! He was wonderful!

    Light installation and general services

    We found Stan (Ancaster Handyman) on homestars and saw the great reviews. The reviews were bang on, Stan was an absolute pleasure to have in our house to do our work. We agreed to a price/hr before hand and there were no surprises. Stan was professional and his work was neat/tidy. He arrived on time, was courteous and prepared for the jobs to be done. We will definitely be calliing him back for future jobs. Thanks Stan!

    Misc Handyman Tasks

    Stan did an excellent job with everything I needed. He installed our new house number plaque perfectly, fixed and insulated my bathroom ducting, and even pointed out some issues with my electrical that I will be having an electrician investigate shortly. I will definitely call Stan again for future work like this. He was punctual and friendly and the cost was fair.
