    Move from Markham to Uxbridge

I spoke to Alain Lambert initially who came out to do an estimate from the Markham location, good honest first meeting. I would recommend them. The price was high but it did not deviate and they worked extremely hard for the money 9hrs! 4 bed house. They wrapped, put neoprene walkways down on the carpets, they moved some very heavy items. They made the move excellent. I wanted to hug them for all their efforts as it was a hot day and they didn't let that stop them. They were personable while working but focused on the job at hand. You get what you pay for. They are members of CARP & adhere to the Good Practice Guidelines for Canadian Movers. They were happy to provide me the name of their insurance company, let me know how quickly claims would be processed. You pay by credit card only when the move is complete and all your things are in situ at your new home. Your cargo protection can be increased if you wish. The quote was detailed and mileage was correct no more was added. There is no inventory taken for the move so write clearly on the boxes. Everything that was loaded came off at the other end. A good solid move. I would recommend the team and they made what could be a vulnerable experience a very exciting part of our new home life. I think of AMJ fondly and smile when I see their trucks on the road. They helped us move to our new house and our new life, that is a big deal. It should be taken seriously. I hope you enjoy AMJ Campbell too and you get a team as nice as we did.

    Moving

I contacted AMJ for my city to city moved and was very pleased with the whole experience. I emailed an inquiry and was follow-up with a phone call to confirm the details of my move. The 3 movers arrived on time and were efficient and friendly. The entire move took less time than originally anticipated and I was only charged for the time that it actually took. I would use this company in the future and would recommend them.

    Cross country move

Salesman was alright and did bring some large boxes to the house when asked. However I asked several times re wardrobe boxes to finally get the answer that as a long distance move we would have to purchase them from the driver on the day. They are only loaned for moves of less than 150 km. On the day the driver did not have any so all clothes and shoes were bundled in moving quilts and tightly taped. Therefore they had no identification on them so one was not taken off the truck at our destination. The driver called the next day - having discovered this left - over bundle when unloading another customer - and brought it to the new house. Also wish we had been told in advance to remove the legs from the coffee table, dining table, and to take the backs off bookcases etc. We could have done that. We dismantled the bed but did not know about the rest. The men were fast and courteous. In fact the driver helped move a new bar-b when he returned the missing bundle. Wish we had been given a delivery date earlier than the day before it took place. The car company picked the car up promptly however did not notify us of its delivery. Apparently they kept calling the cancelled land line at our old home and never tried the second phone number provided which was the active cell phone. Only by looking online did we find the car was already out here available for pickup.

Moving from Canada to the USA

Do NOT use these guys if you're moving a vehicle to another country. Even tho they came in a little higher than other quotes for movers, the OWNER of Atlas/AMJ in Cambridge Ontario assured me on more than one occasion they would be able move my motorcycle down on the same truck with the rest of our belongings. He claimed they do it all the time, and would obtain all the necessary paperwork at the border that would allow me to register the vehicle in the state we were moving to. We told them what paperwork we had to obtain from the Customs at the border to import our cars, he said that same paperwork would be obtained at the time of crossing by his driver. Lo and behold, the driver arrives not only without the necessary paperwork we were promised would be procured, but the border guards even kept the bill of sale and photocopy of ownership I had provided them for the bike. According to the owner, the border guards did indeed ask to see the bike....but apparently the driver couldn't be bothered to pack it somewhere on the truck so it would be easily accessed. So they waved him through without verifying the vehicle VIN and filling out the paperwork I paid them to get.. Call to the owner the day the truck arrives....he sounds confused....says he's not sure what's going on but we're apparently not the only family they've moved that have had this happen to them THAT WEEK. He assured me he would work with Customs to get this rectified. FOUR WEEKS later with multiple emails and phone calls between us, I'm told there's nothing they can do, that they are at the MERCY of Customs when vehicles are imported on their trucks, and he's sorry for my inconvenience. Mercy? All the driver had to do was allow them onto the truck WHEN THEY ASKED to inspect the bike and fill out and stamp a piece of paper. I was promised this would be taken care of properly, now the last email I got from the owner has a sorry excuse that there's NO assurances that vehicles will be processed properly when moved Internationally with their company. Initially, the owner was willing to refund me 300 dollars when we thought my having to get the paperwork would cost me out of pocket. Now he claims that 'since this wasn't our fault', he's under no obligation to compensate me for the hassles i'll now have to undergo to fix their screwup. I was either bold faced lyed to (had to purposely spell 'lyed' wrong because apparently that's a bad word in these reviews) so they could get my business, or the owner has NO IDEA what's involved in transporting vehicles properly across international borders. I should have went with a different moving company that came in with a cheaper quote and just shipped the bike through a separate company that knows what they're doing. This is of course, to say nothing of the fact the moving truck arrived a FULL WEEK later than we were told they would, necessitating us all to sleep on air mattresses in an empty house and eating out every meal for a week longer than they promised. Because apparently, even tho the owner confirmed the truck was in our area on the day it was supposed to arrive....they 'couldn't find labor to help unload it' on that day. Couldn't find labor...in Texas. Right. More likely the lazy driver that couldn't be bothered to let the Customs folks onto the truck was also to lazy to work on a Saturday. So our truck sat here for a few days while I developed back spasms from sleeping on the floor, then left to go to another city, THEN finally came back a week later. Oh...but you can't get mad at them...they have a 14 day "window" with which to deliver your goods. So even tho they fail to deliver on the date promised, it's still 'within that window' of delivery. My advice.....don't bother with these folks. Save your money and find a company that knows what they're doing and doesn't hide behind lyes and excuses when things don't go as they promised. Now if you'll excuse me I have to go and arrange to lose a day of work to drive a motorcycle 2 hours on interstate highways to present it to the nearest Customs agency.....which is what I paid these people to do a month ago.

    Move

The move itself was good, the movers themselves really didn't look professional however nothing was damaged and everything was done on a timely basis for the price quoted. The movers were quick and efficient. I was not at all impressed with my sales person Ian, apart from the initial in-home consultation he was impossible to get a hold of and when I did get a hold of him after some time he was quite rude and abrupt. It turns out that he didn't even pass along the credit card information I had given him because customer service reached-out to me telling me they didn't have my credit card on file a few days before my move. The customer service people will push you to deal with the sales rep for everything, but my sales person couldn't even be bothered to return phone calls.

    Moving

I was recommended to use AMJ Campbell for my local move within the GTA, from a friend. But I was very disappointed by the actual service I received. On the day of my move the Movers were over an hour late and no one even called me to warn me of a delay ! I had to call numerous times to find out what happened and I was told “the truck broke down, it happens”. In an apartment you have only 2 hours to use the elevator for moving. Thus, the hour delay cost me an hour less using the elevator. The movers then cursed, swore and yelled adamantly at the apartment security when the security advised me that we had run out of time. The movers were then pretty quick to finish the move. I then called AMJ Campbell to advise them what happened and asked for a discount for the bad service. There was barely any sympathy from the AMJ Campbell rep I dealt with. They didn’t even want to give me a discount for the horrible service. In the end, they gave me a very small discount on my bill. However, it took days of emailing back and forth to even get the AMJ Campbell rep to admit the service was horrible.

    Move

Move out was Great! Our furniture was stored at the AMJ warehouse and I requested the same trio for delivery in to our new home.. One of the 3 was the same.. One of the three stood around and waited for guidance the third was pretty good.. Our disappointment was there was damaged furniture which clearly wasn't before as they make note of everything and my patio table glass top went missing... Most frustrating was we were told at time of damage don't worry we have a repair man he'll make it good as new .. No one came and after calls out and messages to AMJ they sent us a cheque for $250... What a joke! What am I supposed to do with a table and chairs when there's no glass top? As for my armoire and side table damages.. No one came .. So much for deciding to go with " a large reputable company" I wish I knew of Home stars before

    Move

When reaching our destination movers had to be asked to put down mats on new floors. No furniture was wrapped even though we were told it would be. One worker constantly on the cell with personal calls. Boxes placed on boxes marked fragile do not stack. Some damage done have to summit claims form sent to me by Rep.I explained the situation to her and did get a response. However after doing some research before moving I expected more from this company and felt they did not live up to what was claimed as there standards.

    Moved Twice

Im so surprised at the bad reviews! We used AMJ Campbell Cambridge for a move from Kitchener to Cambridge. The guys & service were so great that we hired them again a few months later to move us from Cambridge to Dorchester. I would absolutely recommend them.

    Moving & Storage

Incredibly disappointed with service start to end. Information I provided to head office to resolve situation was used to protect AMJ Campbell, not to address multiple problems caused by their franchisee and reps. Lots of damage done to my property.
