YuChing and his team were very easy to work with. They were efficient, friendly and knowledgeable. We had a lot of hoops to go through to get our city permits but they were patient and advised us on our next steps. Getting in touch with their team was never a problem and we found them to be priced very reasonably compared to similar firms. Would highly recommend them!

We really enjoyed working with Yu at YCL, and we would recommend him to anyone who is looking for a structural engineer. For our project our scope included a thorough site visit, prepared structural markups and drawings required to get a permit for our renovation, and applied to the city for our permit on our behalf. His communication was prompt, professional, and he was extremely patient with us throughout the process. We have never done a renovation before so required hand holding. Yu always reassured us and put our minds at ease. Our home is an old home and Yu educated us on what was required to ensure our home was structurally sound but did not scare us along the way! Fantastic experience from anxious renovators!

I was referred to YCL Structual Designs by a friend and could not be more pleased with their work. They are eager to help you and give you what you are looking for efficiently and effectively. I came to them as I needed to do an open wall concept for main floor. They were quick in their response to reply to my query and begin the process. Yu helped us assess a basement foundation wall. We were under a tight deadline an Yu was very accommodating in providing his assessment and documentation for our timeline. He is very thorough and an excellent communicator.

We are extremely happy with the services we have received from Ycl. We needed a structural engineer for our home renovation in order to create an open-concept floor plan. From the onset, Yu was very professional, timely, informative, and understanding. Even after receiving the stamped drawings from Yu, we continue to have questions and Yu continues to be responsive which we greatly appreciate. As my P. Eng retired, I sought a new engineer to move forward with projects. This project included an addition, complete renovation along with underpinning. Yu reviewed my structural design and provided an alternative design to support the existing roof for the 2nd floor open concept. He was professional, easily reached and provided the stamped drawings in a timely manner. I have already retained hm for other projects.

We needed a structural engineer to produce a solution to remove load bearing walls, and create an open concept (kitchen, living and dining room). Through various reviews on Homestar we were directed to YCL, Yu. On the initial 'information gathering' phone call, he provided us with a comprehensive overview of the process to obtain drawings for a building permit. Of all the 'information gathering' calls we made, he was the most generous with information. When we decided to go with him, a few weeks later, someone was sent to do the initial measuring. We then communicated back and forth, until the final drawings were produced. We submitted the drawings to the City, and was granted the Permit requested with no issues. I will recommend Yu and his team, at YCL, to anyone who needs the services that he offers. He was cost effective, prompt in all communication, accessible and informative.

Yu Ching was very personable , responsive and professional , answered all of my questions with patience , I HAD A LOT, he was recommend by a trade and I plan on using him in the future. I would highly recommend him .
