Just found out Metro's out of business - let's hope this company doesn't reinvent itself under another name again... did not respond to calls, emails; did not return to clean up snow following city plows... now 1500 of us in Barrhaven are out of luck - and the odds are pretty good more snow's on the way. Shame on me for giving this company a second chance. Although I shouldn't be surprised, I am - and poorer to show for it.

I had Metro for several years as it transitioned from a previous name to Metro. Service was adequate. Last season (2018-19) was a complete disaster. Price increased and service (if any) was poor. Paid extra to have walkway cleared. Showed up a couple of times (most snowfalls were ignored) but only cleared a one shovel width. Metro had a monopoly on our short street in Barrhaven (25 customers) so expected service to be consistent. Seldom, if ever, answered emails or phone calls. I was hit for a 250 cm surcharge ($60). Problem was that Metro often did not show up for smaller storms but still added these snowfalls to the total. Being out of town from Mid March until Mid April I had no option but to pay for the service for my wife. From looking at rave reviews (a 10 rating) from some customers it is obvious that some areas received good service. Certainly that was not the case in our area of Barrhaven. Google ‘Metro Snow Reviews’ to get a more accurate picture. Several former customers on our street switched to another provider (less expensive and no 250 cm surcharge) for this season. I have been monitoring service and accurately observe that Metro’s performance is well behind that of our new provider.

Metro removal snow is not company that you expected . They collect money with no service back. We have 10 cm snow Jan 19 with extra pile of snow that city add to our drive way , but metro company didn’t show up to clean , and they are not return call or any email. I left voice mail to talk the company manager nobody answer my call. As a first Metro snow removal’s costumer I never recommend this company to people.

Decline of service. I’m not sure what has happened to Metro. They used to be a reliable service. Driveways were cleared very shortly after the city plows cleared the street. You could rely on them and have the confidence that your driveway would be done when you need to use it. That is not the case anymore. Drivers often don’t show up at all or do so before the plow passes. This leaves you to clean up after the city. It’s the same for all houses on my street that use Metro. They don’t answer the phones or return messages. The only hope you have of getting their attention is create a ticket on their website and hope they send someone to fix the situation. It’s disappointing that Metro service has fallen off so much. Maybe it’s because they have so many customers that they can’t service them all. Perhaps their dispatch method is poor, or drivers are untrained. I simply can’t depend on them anymore.

Metro has only stopped by so far to stab in their "ads" along the driveway. Luckily the second payment is a post-dated cheque which we can cancel so we would only be out $176. It's Jan 4 and there has been no service so far, no returned phone call or email. I see other reviews from Nov & Dec when it didn't even snow in Ottawa...hmmm...real? You decide.

If you're lucky, Metro will show up at 8pm and plough your driveway after you shovelled it yourself because, gosh, people need to use their driveway during the day. Do not waste your money on this company. They don't do their job. UPDATE: Company initiated bankruptcy procedures in summer of 2019, according to the Office of the Superintendent of Bankruptcy. Kept on taking client's money, though, for the 2019-2020 season.

These guys take the snow industry to a whole new level with the organization that I have never seen before. Not once was that ever a concern with Metro, I never need to call them to find out when they are coming during a snow storm because they are always already on site. I'm happy to finally not have to worry about my sites during any snow events, I rest easy always knowing they are on it.

Working in the freezing temperatures and early hours cannot be fun. Metro Snow do it well which cleared the snow in driveway, allows my customers the ability to park in my lot and enter the building safely. Thank you, Metro Snow!
