    No customer appreciation

Not great with returning emails. They say they have plowed your driveway when they haven't. Their estimated times of their driver arrivals is always 6 hours off. They are more concerned about their drivers than their customers.

    Answer from pro:

Of course I'm concerned about my drivers! They are the ones out for 18 hour shifts doing what you either can't or don't want to do! Tire them out too much....they quit. Then where is your snow clearing coming from? As per emails., we DO respond quickly and personally to EVERY ' issue ticket',. When you email us 10 times over an hour? No, we don't respond. No need, we 'got it' the first time. Ive explained this many times, asked you to submit an 'issue ticket' for faster response and correction yet this is ignored. We have a fine system....when it is used. Thanks' Ken

Avoid apple tree/metro snow and ice removal at all costs

Signed up in November thinking they would be a good company after having trouble with JR snow removal. I would not recommend this company, voicemail is always full, and it seems they do not care for they’re customers. This is my first and last year for sure. I can shovel my own driveway with out shelling $300 to do so. Never seen such ridiculousness before and they go on to brag about 11,000 happy customers. If your customers were so happy recently then why do you have so many bad reviews as of late?? As a business owner I understand it’s difficilt but to run a business like this and always be blaming your customers is 100 percent wrong . Now I know I understand why they don’t have a google listing because it would be full of bad reviews. I will be contacting bbb and filing a claim in small claims court and I advise others to do the same

    Answer from pro:

Admittedly, you state you had trouble 'as well' with JR snow removal. Just maybe it's your unrealistic expectations from any residential snow clearing companies and your standard can't be met? As per 'why we have so many bad reviews at the beginning of the season? Simple answer: We sign up over 1500 'late' clients when. No other company will even respond to them. Almost ALL of these reviews recently are from...."late last minute signups' during storms. They call last minute and want to be done 'tonight'. No stakes get put in and they get missed. THIS is explained to them clearly when they sign up. As well....all are usually 'first time' snow company users and have no idea what to expect. Complaints from long term clients re virtually non existent as these clients 'get' what a commercial snow clearing contract and service levels are about. ON A GOOD NOTE THOUGH: As a result of these reveries from 'late signups' Metro will no longer accept any clients free the first snowstorm of the season. Lesson learned . Ken

Most unreliable company I've ever dealt with

I've had this company for a few years. The first few were great. I loved their emails and notifications of exactly when they were coming. However, last year I was missed about 70% the time. They just didn't show up or respond. Since I am out of town for work often, I needed a company that contacts me. This year I was promised they had less customers and more tractors so the service would be 100% reliable. Each storm they should come 2-3 times. They've only been twice. I've emailed and phoned and left voicemails. I haven't received a single reply. They have been here in 3 weeks. This morning I was unable to get out of my driveway to go work. I live on a main road so they promised in their email by 7am. It's now almost 11 and there is still no sign. I signed up early, my cheque was cashed, the stakes were up early. I am at an utter loss as to what to say. There is just no service. They just don't come. They have never replied to a single email or contacted me in any way when I've been missed. Then you receive their emails of their excellent service. Most people don't have this service because they are lazy. They have health issues, family issues, work early/late, travel for work...so this is a vital service to them and be stranded in your driveway when you pay $300 plus tax for two clearings of minimal amounts is ridiculous when you don't see them for the larger amounts. I grew up in the country and certainly understand that tractors sometime break, and a driveway might get missed. I certainly emphathize with the drivers. However, I put the responsibility 100% on the owner and possibly managers. If someone is missed, would Management not call the next time to make sure they weren't missed and happy with the service??? And just for management's information, my vehicle is always in the garage and the outside light is always on to make it as easy as possible for the driver. Managers should personally do any missed driveways.

    Answer from pro:

Well stated Pickles and I'm glad you supplied this review. My apologies if you had a bad start to the season. If you email me and put Pickles in the subject line I will personally review your file with both the Area Manager and your driver and see if we can address the issues. Many thanks Ken

    Metro Snow removal Barhaven

After reccieiving an end of the year email from Metro saying they would be adding additional tractors, we figured we would give them another shot. Metro has been twice since the beginning of the season (its Jan4 2018) it’s beyhond terrible service... On top of the terrible service you will not receive tracking notifications like the Metro sales pitch says - instead you will get negative and unfriendly emails telling you not to contact them about your problems, they also email friendly Snow updates lol and then say they will come do the job we paid them to do, but wait, then another email saying they won’t be coming. This is terrible waste of money and time, also your state of mind after reading there communications. 0 our of 10

    Answer from pro:

Sorry you feel this way. You can simply 'unsubscribe ' from all these emails if you feel they are irrelevant. Most customers (especially seniors) appreciate being kept informed of changes or issues. I'd rather inform people then have them 'fly blind' during storms like most other companies where the customer has no idea even if their provider is coming out or not.' Thanks Tyler Ken

Still no service, just aggressive rude emails

Laughable answers to others. All driveways were not cleared over Christmas, we have still not seen anyone and hired our driveway cleared, our neighbor cleared the end of the drives. Communications to the President is him blaming us somehow. We have a drive and half. Our SUV parked in half lane so little snow. Full lane full of over 10cm of snow. Our son in law shoveled a path to get out on boxing day with our Grandchildren. We have sent a complaint to BBB. President said his best offer is based on contract...which they failed to complete their obligations. Broken promises, rude behavior is what we have received. The President is a bully who thinks he can say what he wants. I have complete documentation from the first snowfall and will see these people in court! I don't care to see a response from them since it is just more crap. If anyone else who did not get a full refund and received terrible service, do the same, sue them.

    Answer from pro:

Your entitled to your opinion. The terms of our contracts are quite clear. Ken

    Awful service

these Guys are awful. Don’t show up when they tell you they will, don’t respond to e-mails, voice mail box full. More concerned about tractor operators than customers. This guy is in the wrong business.

    Answer from pro:

25 years in the business, 12000 'happy clients', 97% annual renewal rate, A BBB rating I'd say 'we know what we;re doing here' And yes, we always show up withim the times and thresholds in the contract. "Just not as fast as you'd like us to. ( Just to keep things in perspective here) Metro

    Horrible Service in Barrhaven Area

The service this year has been horrible. I will not recommend this company in Barrhaven as the snow removal service is extremely poor and customer service is the worst. I feel that they have taken on more than what they can handle. The driveways on my street were not cleared for three days. I eventually ended up cleaning my driveway on my own. I hired this company to provide the snow shoveling services due to health reasons. They take my hard earned money and do not provide the services promised. I recommend going with another company. I for sure will be doing that next year.

    Answer from pro:

Driveways WERE cleared immediately. You are referring to 'city sidewalk plows' that came through your street 3 days AFTER then storm ended. Few companies if any return for these small piles . Metro

    72 hours later - still haven't arrived

There was significant snowfall on Christmas morning and now 48 hours later (December 27, noon), the driveways at Portman Crescent in Barrhaven still has not been cleared yet. Not even once. I cannot reach customer service on the phone because it always goes to voicemail. I cannot reach anyone via email either because nobody replies. My neighbours who are with different companies have all had their driveway cleared on the 25 or 26th.

    Answer from pro:

Portman was in fact cleared by mid nite on Christmas Day. Tractors were gain sent in on Boxing Day to do car clean outs. Metro

Unreliable service non existent customer service

Not perfect service in the past but worst this year. Have not rendered services practically for the month of December. Unreliable services so have to find work arounds for transport and that's frustrating. Have also been forces to clean the driveway after waiting for over 24 hours of no service on xmas eve and over 3 days earlier in Dec. They didn't come to clear the snow from xmas day. And no response to messages. Wouldn't recommend this company in Barrhaven area. After no response, I paid another company to clear drive way so I could get out on 27 Dec. No service from 13-27 Dec. And i am afraid he will not refund me for services not rendered. I don't know how their voicemail could always be full if they have so many satisfied customers.

    Answer from pro:

We always refund any unhappy customers funds without issue. Simply request one. Metro

Poor Service so far this year

I am new to the service. the first snowfall they missed me altogether and I had to bring it to their attention even after I did they didn't show up for a number of days and I did most of the clearing. after this last snowfall they did come in after it was finished and then they came late. Then even though their email said they would come the next day and if we moved our cars they would clear everything they didn't show. I think I have wasted my money and will still be shovelling myself this winter. I would not recommend them.

    Answer from pro:

Again Brian, you signed up just before a storm, last minute, we're told that you 'may be missed' because stakes couldn't be put up in time for the snow. Metro
