    Basement Reno - Retaining Wall

    We hired DWC to renovate our basement apartment. When Donavon came in to provide the quote he suggested to fully gut the basement and rebuild it as the layout was strange and there was so much unused/wasted space. We are so glad that we decided to go that route because what was beneath was a complete mess. There was a major crack in the foundation that needed immediate attention and the basement was not structurally sound due to poor workmanship of past contractors. Donavon and his team repaired all of the damage and were able to utilize every inch of space to give us more living space then we had before. Every suggestion Donavon made panned out. We now have a modern basement apartment that looks great and doesn’t feel like a dungeon. Donavon and the team are skilled and knowledgeable professionals. They are all friendly and respectful. They did an exceptional job of answering all of our questions (and there were a lot) and providing explanations when asked. They also kept the construction site clean as they worked which was an added bonus. We also had DWC build a retaining wall, stairs and put weeping tiles in the backyard. DWC does it all!! Thank you DWC for a job well done.

    Loadbearing wall removal

    We knew the removal of a major load-bearing wall in our 100-year old Toronto house would be a complicated task because of permits, HVAC and electrical issues, but would require careful attention to finishing as well since we wanted to keep some of the original features of the house intact. The original hardwood would need to be matched where the wall had come out, and we wanted to retain the original curve where the lathe-and-plaster walls met the ceiling. Once the drawings were complete we sought several quotes; DWC was on the high-to-middle end but we don’t regret a penny. From the start, communication and expectations were clear and work was carried out efficiently. We didn’t vacate the premises during this time and the team did everything they could to minimize the impact, even though I’m sure it would have been much simpler for them if we (and our big dog) hadn’t been there. Donavan dealt with inspections, an unhelpful structural engineer, and a significant and unexpected last-minute change on our part with a consistently open and pleasant demeanour. All his employees and sub trades were extremely pleasant and polite to me and my family. When I had to leave town he continued to check in daily to keep me informed. When our original plan was expanded he made what we felt was a reasonable adjustment to the original pricing. The work was completed on time and on budget, and exceeded expectations in terms of maintaining/matching the original features. This company is the complete opposite of all those nightmare renovation experiences you’ve heard about.

    Door Installation

    The company we bought our door from hired DWC to install our door. You might think, it's just a door installation, but it's amazing what you might run in to especially a house that has shifted. These guys were one of the most professional I've ever dealt with. They were meticulous and precise. They made sure that door was square even to the point to make sure it did not swing open when left ajar. Even though they had a second job waiting, they did not rush to finish. They made sure the job was well done. Quality over quantity. I would most definitely contact them if we ever have a project to do.

    Contractor with a heart

    We have known donovan for more than 7 years now. He did put kitchen and main floor in our old home and when we bought a new one with the idea of changing the main floor around, he was the one we chose. We did open up the competition and he blew them away. We really like Donovan because he never says something is impossible. He will work with you to understand what you want and what you need. He sees your vision and improves upon it. Even before coming up with a plan, he spends hours trying to come up with the least expensive and possible option. He is the only contractor who does not dismiss your ideas out of hand. The other thing we like about Donovan is that he treats all his crew like his family. They are all loyal to him. And so do a good job with the Reno. He is now like a family member to us as well. You cannot go wrong with Dinivan if he chooses to accept your project.

    Kitchen, bathroom renos

    Donavon and his team were efficient and very attentive to detail. He is full of great ideas it's hard to pick just one of them. He was very in tune to what we wanted and was very patient with finishing touches to give it the look we wanted. His pricing is very fair and explained any and everything if we were confused about it. Also very honest in his opinions and suggestions. I recommend him to anyone and we would call on him again for any other work we would need to get done! He and his team were also very friendly as well as professional and were very instrumental in making our house a home.

    Main Floor Reno & Basement Reno

    Donavon Walker is a visionary with 20 years Contractor experience who doesn't shy away from design challenges. All things are possible with him & his team & he has transformed out home from the basement up. We have used his services 3 times without any regret.

    Finish Basement / Entertainment Space

    We recently had our 1500sq ft unfinished basement transformed into an entertainment space. The DWC team was very professional and extremely polite. Their team is made up of professionals with specific skills(no random handymen messing up the work, been there). I was very impressed with the quality of the work. The team also tidied up every evening. I was able to go down and take a look without stubbing my toe or stepping on a nail. We have worked with other contractors in the past and this was a very refreshing change. They also have a designer on staff. She is AMAZING to work with, she respected our choices and stayed on budget; while helping us to accomplish the high-end look that we wanted. I would definitely recommend DWC. Everyone that visits our home loves our basement.
