    Fridge Repair

    Sam from Fixify was professional, timely and gave us great service. He gave us honest feedback on the state of our fridge and a recommendation on fixing the issue. I would recommend him to my friends and family.

    Beware - untrustworthy and Job poorly done

    I called this company based on the reviews to put a water line from the fridge to the water tap (tap was already installed by the builder / plumbing work was done by the builder). Sam provided me with a quote which I didn't negotiate and he scheduled a visit to do the job. I took the invoice and paid the full price + HST. He also put a fifteen days warranty for parts and labour. The job was done on Aug 3rd and on Aug 13th early morning I called Sam to inform that the water was dripping from the one end of the water pipe he installed and it went through the 2nd floor to the ground floor and damaged one door and drywalls. He promised to come on Monday Aug 16th and one hour before the scheduled time he called me and demanded extra charges for the visit to fix the issue. I told him that this is unfair as this is still in warranty and probably water started dripping the day he performed the job. The water line is behind the fridge and we only realized when it reached the bottom level and we saw it on the floor and on walls. He said he gave me a good prize and now wants more money to fix his own poorly performed work, though I didn't negotiate to get the better quote and paid him the price he quoted. He refused to come without extra charges. This company seems very unprofessional and does not care for customers. I hope this review will help and prevent many others from having similar potential situations from this company.

    It is unfortunate to see this review even after our efforts to rectify this situation. We did not ask for extra money for the repair itself but there was a visit fee. Because you didn't agree to the charge, I waited until we had a service booked in your city, so that we could stop to do your repair as well along the way. This was the only way for me to come by at no cost, otherwise company policy requires $80 for visits (the repair itself is free). We called the day we were in Hamilton on August 17th and offered to fix this for you entirely free of charge but unfortunately were turned away. If you would like us to come by and repair it again while we're in Hamilton another day please let us know. Thank you.

    Freezer leaking

    Same day service! I called Sam and he was able to come within 5 hours of my call. Sam was very friendly, courteous, and explained everything he was doing every step of the way. He went above and beyond to finish the job and stayed late in order to complete it. I would definitely recommend Sam, from Fixify Appliance.

    Fridge repair

    Sam came and gave us a very good service . He also gave us a reasonable price and he was responsive to the time. I will recommend him to my family and friends.

    Dishwasher repair

    Sam came and reviewed the dishwasher issue and recommended that we pull it out and clean the drain system. He also gave steps to maintain the dishwasher in the future. I highly recommend his services

    Fridge repair

    Was prompt and helpful. Very trustworthy and knowledgeable. Fridge wasn’t working and got repair person out next day. He explained the issue and was transparent about issues and cost. Would recommend.

    Attempted dishwasher installation

    I needed a dishwasher installed so I called this company only because I was not able to get someone sooner. Sam told me on the phone he would be there between 3-6, he wasn’t there yet at 6:20, he texted me saying he would be there at 6:30, he finally arrived at 6:45. Right from the beginning of the installation it seemed as though he didn’t have much experience in installing dishwashers. We were there for about 2 1/2 hours and the job was not even half completed. At one point he tried to interchange a part from the old dishwater and use it for the new dishwasher which I immediately told him I was not comfortable with, as it would void the warrant for the new dishwasher. He did not have the parts that were required to do the job, after he spent about 15 minutes rummaging through his vehicle trying to find what he needed. After he tried loosening the water connection line to attach a new hose, he apparently was not able to do that and it caused it to leak all over the bottom of the interior kitchen cabinet and into the floor, requiring an additional expense for me for a plumber to fix that. We both finally agreed on a discounted price for the service call that was not completed. I will NEVER this company again.

    Honesty and Professionalism

    Sam called to know more about the job details/site. After getting the details he recommended the best options for me rather making some bucks for him. His honesty and professionalism is commendable.

    Dryer repair

    Sam was very helpful is diagnosing the issue with our broker dryer. My husband had tried to trouble shoot the problem buy was not successful. He ordered the part and came back within the week to install the broken part. He also blasted the inside clean at no extra cost. We appreciated his kind and friendly service.

    Broken appliance

    Update: He called back and refunded a good chunk of the money, and was honest about it. I have increased my rating and do commend his professionalism in this case. Sometimes not all appliances can be fixed and not all fixes work. So I had written a review initially since Sam was literally hovering over me as I wrote the review. We had called him since our microwave died, and he was prompt in replying and all - and said it would be $80 for diagnostic, and then if there was any repair, he would include it into the labour fee ($190 was the initial quote). He then came, spent maybe 10 minutes and said that he has to replace the fuse and that the cost is $220. We questioned the price increase, but he said that’s how much it’s going to be. We agreed since we didn’t have another option at this point. He spent 5 more minutes and the microwave worked. However, within 2 hours of him leaving, the microwave died again. We asked him to refund us some money since he said he will order another part which could take a week or more .. and that it would cost more. At this rate, a brand new microwave with a 4 year warranty was the cheaper option! Be wary of the charges and maybe get into writing beforehand. He’s not a bad professional, but I feel he is overcharging for the value of the service provided.
