Absolutely thrilled with our new deck. Working with Afsin, the contractor, was a great experience. Our old deck was 30+ years old and in dire need of replacement. Afsin met with us July 24, and provided us a quote. He was able to start work August 12, and the project was completed in about a week. His team did quality work and did a great job of cleaning up the site upon completion. Working with MATY Construction was a pleasure and I enthusiastically recommend them for your deck project.

I hired Afsin and his team to remove my old deck and rebuild a new one. It is beautiful! Great design, excellent workmanship and pure joy working with an honest, hardworking contractor who cares about the client. I was worried about taking on the management of this project given that I didn't know much about deck building but it was an amazing experience. 10/10 on quality, cost and delivery!!!

Asfin and his team were outstanding from start to finish. Our deck is beautiful and we are extremely pleased with the results. From the start of the project to the end, Maty Construction was reliable, efficient and delivered as promised. They started the project on the date promised and finished exactly within the time frame they noted. Their workmanship and attention to detail is meticulous and it's obvious to us that Asfin and his team take pride in their work. We would highly recommend them as we are extremely happy.

We had an old wooden deck in our backyard that we decided have it demolished and replaced with a new Trex deck. We believed an even older deck lay underneath. We also decided to replace an adjacent wooden fence and gate and have a nearby interlocking walkway levelled properly as it had become very uneven and a tripping hazard. We hired Maty Construction. Afsin (the owner of Maty Construction) was very professional and listened to our needs. He also made design suggestions. He suggested that we could chose an additional colour to border the deck. Prior to the construction, he sent us 3D renderings of our new deck. At every stage of the process, Afsin communicated with us clearly, answered our questions and kept us well informed. He is honest and reliable. We all had proceeded on the assumption that the deck had been built on top of an old deck and the new deck could use the previous decks footings. However, when the old deck was demolished, there was a surprise. There was no other deck underneath and it was now evident that the deck had been constructed in a very inadequate nonstandard way. It did not have any concrete footings at all, no black tar paper (to keep out moisture) and no gravel. Instead the wooden frame did not have any joists taped and had been just placed on top of the soil. As a result, our deck took a little longer than any of us had foreseen because the area below the new deck had to be dug out, concrete footings poured, black tar paper added, followed by gravel, then the frame constructed before the Trex planks were attached. Throughout this process, Afsin and his team worked very hard to ensure our new deck would be built properly. They also worked long hours. Once the deck had been finished, they constructed a new fence and gate and levelled the interlocking brick walkway. We are thrilled with our new deck, fence, gate and the levelling of the walkway. We are assured that our new deck will last because of both the Trex 25 year warranty and the excellent quality of its construction. We appreciate the workmanship. It looks beautiful and we will enjoy using it. We would highly recommend Maty Construction to anyone looking to build or replace a deck and/or fence. BTW The colours we chose were: Rocky Harbour for the deck and Coast Bluff for the border, both greyish taupe/ I've posted pictures both in sunlight (where it looks more brown) and in shade (where it looks grey).

We hired MATY construction to build a new deck in the front of our house. Afsin came out to give us an initial quote, and I was immediately struck by his professionalism and how much he cares to get a job done right. He came out a second time to answer additional questions that my husband had. We had several back-and-forth email exchanges to make important decisions and never was Afsin impatient with us as we considered various options. Instead, he remarked every time that he really endeavored to build us a porch that we really loved so he would be happy to continue discussing changes. They were able to schedule us in quickly and complete the job in a very reasonable time frame. One thing I really appreciated about Afsin is that he offered his own opinion about options that he thought would look best and/or be the most structurally sound, but at the end of the day he respected our opinions, so I think the end product ended up being perfect. His team was incredibly respectful and friendly. In short, if I could create a perfect contractor, this person would be Afsin. He's hard working, attentive to detail, concerned about long-term durability while also making everything look really nice, and just all around a great person.

We were very happy with Asfin. The job was completed when he said, the site was left clean and the work was done very professionally. Asfin also provided assistance with the design of the deck to improve what was previously there.

It was serendipitous that I ran into one of his workers dropping a flyer while returning from a family outing. Communicated a lot with Afsin and decided to sign on. He was doing another deck in the area and I dropped by for a visit to check out his work. He completed the renovation in 2 weeks including demolition of the deck, footings, Trex composite stairs and deck, 2 privacy walls using Hoft and aluminum railings, skirting, 2 fences and new sod. I was planning on doing it next year but I got it done this year thanks to Afsin, and the kids love the new deck. The deck was inspected by Trex and passed with flying colours. His crew were great and Afsin was amazing to work with. I would highly recommend Maty construction if you are thinking about doing a deck and fence.

Afsin and his team were fantastic. Quality work done quickly and smoothly. Everything that was happening along the way was communicated carefully. The finished porch looks amazing ! Would recommend Maty Construction fto anyone.

Afsin and his team are incredible. They built us a brand new composite material deck (August 2023) and did an outstanding job. Their craftsmanship and structural quality is second to none. Afsin is responsive and explained everything to us each step of the way. We highly recommend working with Maty Construction. We look forward to working with them again in the future.
