I called the big name companies at first because I 'thought' they must be the best. They didn't even bother to return my call because my small repair was a waste of their time. That's just rude and terrible customer service. I saw E.W. Smith's company van on my street and called them. I received a reply call very promptly and they completed the task that very day! They provided fantastic customer service and their price was very reasonable. No question they will have my business going forward when I need a larger job completed.

Called Earl on Friday, Saturday he came to take a look, gave us a quote, we signed the contract. Monday his (great) guys came and did the job fast, clean and well. Price was very reasonable. Definitely will use this company again and definitely would recommend it.

After checking with several roofers, I hired Earl's company based on the reasonable price and the professional assessment and advice. Earl's team did a great job in removing and replacing the flat and shingled roof, installing a beautiful new skylight and updating the flashing, fascia and eavestroughing. The crew kept the site very tidy and clean and finished the project in a timely way despite the brutal heat. I highly recommend EW Smith for anyone who needs work on their roof.

Did a nice job removing the old flat roof (approx. 200 sq. ft. )on the rear portion of my residence and replacing it. Put in insulation and even came back the following day to hook up exhaust fan from the room below. Excellent work, very reliable and able to meet specifications.

Recently, we had a significant leak in our 20yr flat roof. I researched various roofing companies, many wouldn't work on flat roofs and others didn't have timely follow-up. I was referred to Earl's family owned company, E.W. Smith Roofing by a friend who also had been referred to Earl's company and was very satisfied with their work. Earl is a professional roofer, a gentleman, responded immediately to any calls /concerns raised and was a pleasure to work with. His team were friendly, insured and trained; this is especially important, as flat roof replacement can result in fires due to the torquing of the rubber to the roof, if not done by knowledgeable roofers. The work included full replacement of flat roof and mansard wall/shingles, skylight, breather vents, and additional insulation to bring it up to R52 with a 5 year workmanship warranty. Good clean up and debris removal and no fires!!! I would highly recommend E.W.Smith Roofing to anyone looking for roof repair and/or replacement work. Thanks Earl!

It was a pleasure dealing with E. Smith. The crew did a great job on a roof that is difficult to access, with minimal disruption to us, and left the place spotless.

Appreciated dealing directly with owner, Earl Smith. Prompt with estimate. Fair assessment and price. On site crew very neat and courteous. Kept us informed of any delays that were weather related. Appreciated honesty in assessing what shingles needed replacing and which did not. Have had roof replaced 3 times over many years. This was best experience.

We were very impressed with the recent work done by E. W. Smith Roofing. Earl Smith was prompt with his estimates and his team (Brad & others) arrived on time and worked quickly and carefully to get the job done. They even took pictures of our roof at each stage of the work. They did not take shortcuts like other companies do. After each day, they cleaned up and left our property looking very clean and neat. Trust is very important in the roofing business and we strongly recommend Earl Smith and his team on the basis of their honesty, reliability, quality of workmanship, courtesy and competitive pricing.

Included this company as one of 3 for quote. None seemed to agree, so I was forced to hire an engineer for unbiased opinion of condition of building. 99% of what engineer said seemed to jive with what I was told by Harold Spritzenger? who works for E W Smith. His quote was the fairest and he did not exceed it. We were prepared for surprises once the work got underway, and even thought there were a couple, he just fixed them and carried on. Not even mentioning them until we asked.

In April 2012 I did a review for E.W.Smith on a roof and garage done by them. Unfortunately a couple of months later there was a leak in the roof. I called a couple of times and the receptionist indicated she had passed my message on to Earl, however he never called back. I had to get another roofer to fix his job. So much for warranty. Unfortunately for him he lost a job on another property we have equally as large as this one and one for a neighbor.
