Bathroom faucet making loud noises when turned on
Anonymous user 08/07/2026 - 10:09 AM
Has anyone else experienced this? Whenever we turn the bathroom faucet on, whether it's the hot or cold, there's this super loud water-running sound. You can hear it all over the upstairs! We have no idea why this is happening and it's really driving us crazy!!! Any ideas on what could be causing this?

It is usually caused by high water pressure forcing water through the pipes too fast, or a clogged faucet aerator creating extra noise. First, check if the shut-off valves under your sink are fully open, as partially closed valves cause loud turbulence. If the valves are fine, try unscrewing and cleaning the aerator tip at the end of the faucet to see if the sound stops.
