Attic ventilation

Pull back the insulation and install sheathing in between each rafter to hold the insulation back from blocking the soffits. Styrofoam baffles are usually too flimsy to hold back the insulation.

Ensure you have insulation stops and vented soffit, also sufficient air ventilation on your roof as these 2 work together.

It is tough if the insulation is buried into the soffit. Hopefully the builder was atleast kind enough to have fiberglass batting in there so its easier to pull back. If not and it is blown in depending on the pitch of the roof you may be able to scoop it out with your hands ( ive had alot of luck using tools such as mini hockey sticks to help scoop) But once it is cleared install baffels into the soffit and they will work great, so long as you use a peice of batting to block the bottom of it because loose insulation can still fall into the soffit.

For long-term, durable ventilation, the goal is to create a balanced system with adequate intake ventilation at the soffits and exhaust ventilation near the peak of the roof. Ridge vents paired with continuous soffit ventilation are often considered one of the most effective and maintenance-friendly solutions, although roof vents can also perform well when properly sized and installed. Signs of poor attic ventilation can include excessive attic heat, ice damming, frost buildup in winter, mould growth, and premature shingle deterioration. In many cases, improving ventilation can extend the life of both the roofing system and the attic insulation. A professional attic inspection can determine whether your current ventilation system is balanced and identify any blocked soffits or airflow restrictions that may be limiting performance.
