Shower floor tiles grout

Anonymous user 06/03/2026 - 8:32 AM

My bathroom was renovated last July 2025. I noticed the grout of the shower floor tiles are fully coming out. The area surrounding it looks wet, it doesn't dry up anymore. Is it a failed shower pan, or can be fixed with re-grout process?

Are you a pro and able to answer this question?

Replacing grout is a bandaid. The damage has already been done with the water. Whole shower pa needs to come out and replaced

if the water coming out then the shower floor doesn't dry first thing you need remove all tile in floor then see if the floor is cracked. if the floor is cracked you need refloor the floor first then re install the tile again and grout properly then should be good but if the floor is good just you need to re install the new tile then re grout with the new grout after 24 hours you can silicone it. because that means the tile or grout not was install properly.

It could be either failed grout or a shower pan issue. If the grout is simply deteriorating, it can be fixed by removing the old grout and re-grouting. However, if the area stays constantly wet, it may indicate a problem with the shower pan or waterproofing underneath.
