Staining a Deck
Anonymous user 09/06/2026 - 9:12 AM
We would like our deck stained. It’s built with pressure treated wood and has not been stained. Does it need to be sanded before staining?

definitely, especially after a few years.
probably an 80 grit if you want to really flatten it.finish with a 100 grit or 120.
stain it on a cloudy day. don't let it dry too fast.
make sure it is really dry before u sand.

Depends on the condition of the wood.
