Vinyl door lock works when open but won't latch when closed.

Hello, I'm having trouble with my patio door lock. The mechanism works perfectly when the door is open but once I close it and lift the handle, it catches and won't allow me to turn the key to lock it. If I open the door and lift the handle, everything works fine. I've already changed the lock cylinder, but it didn't help. It feels like something is preventing the locking bar from engaging when the door is closed. I can't find any adjustment points on the door, except for two tiny screws on each hinge. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Door needs to be adjusted. There should be 2 screws in the back of the door bottom and top...use screwdriver and loosen or tighten one at a time until door raises or lowers depending which your latch needs.
