Hi Nina,
Lifeproof luxury vinyl from Home Depot can be a decent product, but I would not judge it only by the brand name.
Some of their vinyl plank floors are around 6.5mm or 7mm thick with a 22 mil wear layer, which can be okay for many low to normal traffic residential areas, as long as the floor is maintained properly and the right product is selected.
That being said, with luxury vinyl plank, the subfloor is usually more important than the plank itself. Even a good vinyl floor can fail, click apart, make noise, or show movement if the subfloor is not flat, clean and solid.
For a better long term result, we usualy like to see thicker vinyl plank, around 9mm or more when possible. It does not mean thinner products cannot work, but thicker material usually gives you a bit more forgiveness and better overall performance, especially when combined with proper floor prep.
In my opinion, floor prep is a big part of the job. The material matters, of course, and so does the installer, but if the floor underneath is not prepared properly, even a good product can give you problems later.
So my answer is; yes Lifeproof can be a good option, but check the exact product specs before buying. Compare the thickness, wear layer, locking system, warranty, and make sure it is suitable for the room you are installing it in.
Most importantly, make sure the flooring installation is done over a properly prepared subfloor.
Hope this helps, good luck with your project!
