Would you add collar ties to reinforce an attic structure?

Are you a pro and able to answer this question?

It depends on the type of roof, but generally collar ties will help with structural stability for a roof. If you are looking to finish your attic, there may be other considerations, and collar ties are not necessarily a replacement for any existing structure.

Collar ties are an essential structural reinforcement required by building codes. Here is why they matter and how they work: What They Do Prevent Ridge Separation: They stop the roof rafters from separating or tearing away from the ridge board during severe weather. Resist Wind Uplift: Strong wind blowing over a roof acts like airplane wings, creating upward suction. Collar ties lock the two sides together to counteract this lift.
