My house had an old water heater (10+ years) rented through Enercare. The day that it failed, I asked Enercare to come over and help me getting it up and going.
First I had some back and forth with Enercare's dispatch to get a tech to come to my house in under 3 days but finally I got someone over. Once the tech got into my home though, he refused to service the water heater and tagged me asking me to remove some 20 year old drywall renovations one of the previous owners had done to be able to fix the old water heater. (please note that the water heater was 10+ years old and was placed were it was probably by Enercare)
Needless to say I cancelled my service with Enercare and got a brand new water heater installed.
When arranging the pickup of the old water heater I was told it would be free of charge. This was later reversed and I also had to pay them to pick-up the old water heater that had been removed previously, I have to say though that the people picking up the old water heater were polite and well mannered.
